This is what I was speculating on in the other thread. Was Aspiration gonna have Kawhi eventually do work for the company and is any of it in writing? If so, then that's obviously good for the Clippers

OTOH, is there any paperwork that specifically says that Kawhi DIDN'T have to do anything and that it would be a no show endorsement? And if so, were the Clippers aware of any of it? If so, then that would be very harmful

Also, what if there is documentation that it's a no show endorsement but the Clippers weren't aware of anything or there is no paper trail. That was the other angle that I was getting at. If there is just circumstantial evidence but no actual proof in writing then I have to think you have to give the Clippers the benefit of the doubt

FWIW, I voted for "major concern" but that was only because there aren't options that fit where I stand on this. I'm more in the "I can't vote because I need to see what documentation is out there" or "I'm less concerned about losing draft picks because the Clippers make good 2nd round picks and Ballmer is always willing to pay more for top talent therefore losing draft picks aren't as big a doomsday thing as it would be for a smaller market"

I wouldn't be so cavalier about draft picks. Sure we have done well in the second round, but imagine if all those years we didn't give up the picks for Paul George? With this front office's ability to pick well, we would have had a much better team. I'm sure that if the league does take picks, we can manage to field a decent team. But those years without picks was miserable because we were essentially having to hope that all the old guys would stay healthy to contend, and that was a losing battle for us. If we would have kept picks and drafted well, it wouldn't have been so dire at the end. I honestly hope we can come out of this without draft pick removal. I'm just tired of seeing this front office have to go for stars in their twighlight like Harden and Beal to make a last ditch effort.

This is true. I guess my problem with the PG thing is that the picks went to a conference rival and it wound up gifting them a title

In this situation, nobody gets the picks. I guess the player's union will be upset since that's one less guaranteed first round contract but at least we aren't gifting another title

As for Ballmer, I just harken to what's going on in Denver right now. If the Clips had Peyton Watson's bird rights, his contract would've already been a done deal. Ballmer will wind up keeping the YKN's, Baba Miller's, Kobe Sander's and Jordan Miller's of the world who otherwise would've been let go had we or if we keep the draft picks

In some respect, I see how losing the picks in this situation doesn't seem that bad at first. But remember that there is a void in the first round if we aren't picking. Whatever player we might have drafted will cause a domino effect that would send one player down into the second round that probably wouldn't be there normally. Some team will get that player, so I think we end up gifting someone a better draft pick somewhere down the line. NBa opening another investigation is just crazy. They probably don't have, as you say, enough evidence to come down with a guilty verdict. I think Ballmer and Kawhi are clearly guilty, but as you said it's what you can prove, and perhaps they don't have a strong case to punish the Clippers...yet. This second investigation kind of shows what they found so far is weak.

Yeah, there is a cut throat or borderline illegal method to many of these billionaires or politicians. You don't get to that level by being nice. I don't know if you've seen the founder, a movie about Ray Crock and the McDonald's brothers? I think that sort of thing is common in those circles. You can even look at the Facebook owner and his shady ousting of other folks that helped in the early stages of the company.
