John Collins signs with Detroit for 3 years, $51 million

Yep. I wonder if it's with their cap space, a sign and trade or Detroit will go over the cap to keep it's own free agents and it becomes an MLE signing. And if it's a sign and trade, what do the Clips get in return?

I think after the PG to Clippers and Rudy Gobert to Minnesota trades, the league saw the effect of giving up 5 draft picks for a player, so they have learned that 2-3 picks are a reasonable ask while 5 is just catastrophic.

Right but in that case, there should be a player or prospect thrown in to even things out a bit. At the end of the day, a washed up a PG and two first rounders just seems low for an MVP candidate at the top of his game

Absolutely agree. First of all, they should have tried to keep Brown. Brown and Tatum won a championship together, and in my opinion, the spark that lit that fire was Brown simply saying, "This was my favorite year in my career." The fans and front office took it as Brown not caring about winning. I do agree with the sentiment that Brown does seem to want to have his "own team." However, you're right that it was a garbage package. They could have gotten more.

Meanwhile, Philly not only got the better player but maxed out their full level MLE by splitting it between Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons. $9 million for Wade and $6 million for Simons is great value and fills need at starting 4 and backup 1

Well, the media is giving Boston a proper a$$chewing. It makes me feel a little better as Boston was always touted as one of the most saavy front offices. This latest trade is a true fleece, and for once it's not the Clippers on the receiving end of a bad trade deal.

I believe there was something went on between Brown and Celtics and they ended up trading him. I believe this is the worst trade of this season and Celtics just sold him at a very low price.

PG, most likely, won’t do much and I believe one of the two first rounders Celtics got could be just a swap that potentially could be useless.

Philly is the biggest winner in this offseason as they nabbed Simons for a low price as a FA as well.

And he fills a need at off guard since Grimes went to the L word. I called him a lead guard and a "1" earlier in this thread but he'll be taking over the backup 2 spot since Philon will be the backup 1. Great steal for Philly in the draft and great maximization of the MLE with Wade and Simons
