  1. Cleveland gets Dennis Schroeder and Keon Ellis

Cleveland sends out DeAndre Hunter and a 2027 2nd round pick

Sacramento gets DeAndre Hunter

Sacramento sends out Dennis Schroder, Keon Ellis, Dario Saric and a 2029 2nd rounder

Chicago gets Dario Saric, 2027 2nd rounder from Cleveland and 2029 2nd rounder from Sacramento

Cleveland saves a bunch of luxury tax money and with the emergence of Jalen Tyson and the possibility of Max Strus coming back this month, Hunter became expendable.

The Lonzo Ball experiment didn't come in handy plus with Darius Garland seemingly always hurt, Schroeder fills a need. Ellis gives more backcourt depth

Sacramento gets a true starting small forward who, unlike aging veterans Derozan and Lavine, is part of the future

Chicago picks up frontcourt depth and a couple 2nd rounders for their troubles

  1. Atlanta trades Vit Krecji to Portland for Duop Reath and two future 2nd round picks

Makes sense for Portland. Overloaded at the big spots with Clingan, Yang and RWII so there was no minutes for Reath even when he was healthy. Vit gives them perimeter depth, something they need with al their injuries

Atlanta couldn't find enough minutes for Vit so they cash in and get future draft assets

Talks of Garland for Harden swap. Don’t like that on surface, not a fan of Garland.

A lot depends on the toe situation. If this is gonna be a nagging injury that he's gonna be dealing with for the rest of his career then it's a problem but the flip side is that he's a good 10 or 11 years younger than Harden so unless the injury is serious, he's got lots more good years in front of him

I wonder if this means that Markannen is on the move. Or better yet, Ja

As for the trade itself, and the reason that I wonder if the above are on the move, I just see Markannen and JJJ as both natural 4's and if Memphis is blowing it up for draft picks, they are clearly in rebuild mode so that would have to mean that Ja is on the move, right?

Shocking that Utah of all teams is giving up draft capital

Huerter gives the Pistons the shooting that they desire

I wonder if the Bulls are looking to move Coby White hence bringing in Ivey

It looks like the Wolves get nothing and have to pick swap with the Pistons. I'm guessing getting rid of Conley's contract saves them a ton of luxury tax dough thus the willingness to pick swap with a team with the 2nd best record in the league

Not sure what to think here. Celtics are thin in the backcourt. If Pritchard gets hurt, who can spell him as a lead guard now that Simons is gone? I'm wondering if a follow up deal is in the works

Vucevic is an upgrade over Queta but even there, Queta was great value for what he makes

Very confused about the Bulls. They trade size and now have a ton of guards in Conley, Ivey and Simons. Created a logjam in the backcourt and don't have frontcourt size

Well there it is. Really not sure what to make of this other than there must be something going on behind the scenes that we may or may never find out about

I've been saying and re-posting this video for over two years. No one wants to play with him. It was obvious when he walked in to the locker room and he was treated like he had facial eczema.

Only Westbrook, his former teammate, offered him any kind of a welcome.

They didn't want him when he came, didn't like playing with him here, and are happier playing with someone else now.

I remember that now. Good stuff. Like most are saying, it all comes down to Garland's health. He has the Brock Purdy turf toe deal but Brock came back and played well until the Seattle playoff game so let's keep an open mind towards this deal

I talked about the Bulls having too many guards yesterday so this thins out the logjam a bit as they send out two guards and only bring one back

Also, since when has Ousmanne Dieng not been on the Thunder?

Not sure I understand this. Philly was not deep, especially in the backcourt and now they send their backup PG to a team that is loaded and deep at every position

Shocker here. Wiz need size. Yes, AD gives them that but other than that, they just got smaller

Will AD have to play C or will they keep Saar in the pivot and allow AD to play the 4 spot?

I see Dallas working though. No more logjam at C as Gafford and Lively will take care of the full 48

Does this mean Flagg moves to the 4 spot or does he stay at the 3 with PJ at the 4?

Garland gets hurt a lot, but his playing style is better.

I still think this team is too old to do anything in the playoffs.

But if they are going to keep trying to win this season, then at least they got a talented player back. And at 26, he will probably have a lot of years left in his career, providing health.

His FG% drops in the playoffs.

That will clear a spot and save some money!

Oh ok, this answers my question about how Charlotte got Dieng. I guess Shams missed this one originally

Good point. I hope this opens up wiggle room for one more positive move

Shams is a bit behind as he's being bombarded. I'm sure we'll find something soon

I don't like how Utah gave up two 2027 first rounders, and an unprotected 2031.

Reduce one of the 2027 first rounders, and I kind of like the deal. But, Jackson Jr. is a fake All-Star, and not a top two option on a team. Utah still doesn't have a #1 or a #2 on the team. Maybe that could be Keyonte, but we don't know yet.

Markkanen isn't a top two guy on a good team for me, because I can't get behind a 7 footer that gets 7 or less rebounds a game. He is a legit 7 footer.

Minnesota has to take some salary back though, right?

Doesn't Philadelphia need some salary back?

Did Dallas just get back a bunch of players they aren't going to play?

Is Davis going to be a positive presence on a young Washington team? Is he that type of leader?

I see Zu out today on personal grounds. Is he on the chopping block?!

nuraman00 wrote:

it's possible that Detroit and/or Chicago had trade exceptions that could allow them to absorb a contract or two without Minnesota taking anything back. I think I read that Detroit absorbed one of them into their never used during the summer MLE

Great points. Another thing to consider is that American players, more often than not, aren't fond of Utah. Stockton and Malone was an anomaly. Foreign players generally like it there but they have a tougher time keeping American players. If JJJ bolts, they will wish they had those draft picks

Could that have changed in recent years? Jordan Clarkson was there for a while and a clear favorite both by fans, and he liked it there too. I expect Keyonte George to stay there for a while. I think Donovan Mitchell liked it there. Never heard him say anything bad about Utah....

Great questions. I was surprised to see him routed to Washington. Not many big men for him to mentor

Those guys won't play much but I think it's the draft picks that Dallas is interested in

In previous years, Jason Terry and Corey Maggette had signed restricted offer sheets there, so they at least would have been ok playing there. Perhaps some players are a little more open to it than before. On the other hand, a lawmaker wants guns at....

Jock Londale being moved from Utah to Atlanta

Ball getting waived by Utah

Salary dump?

I heard everyone from the 2018 first round has been traded.

I couldn't find your 2018 mock draft thread, or else I would have posted this there.

I think only Miles Bridges and Mortiz Wagner are still with the teams that drafted them. So not quite 1-30, but almost.

And technically, Bridges was drafted by the Clippers and traded for SGA on draft day

Zu gone…traded to Indiana!

We might see a fire sale soon!

I will keep saying this. These Charania thumbnail pics are dumb. Why are the top of the face cut off, and why is there a focus on the chest?

Pick details of Zu trade:

The first pick going to LAC is the Pacers' unprotected first-round pick in 2029. The other is the Pacers 2026 first-round pick, protected 1-4 and 10-30. So Clippers get 5-9, and if the pick falls outside of that range, it converts to the Pacers 2031 unprotected first.

I think the FO did what they are supposed to after Harden bailed out.

We got KL, Darius, Mathurin, Collins et al + draft capital. But it takes at least 20 games for players to gel.

Not an ideal situation but their hands forced this trade. I wish Indiana’s picks are sooner than later and both unprotected.

Sad to see Zu gone!

I’ll miss Zu, but if we can develop Neiderhauser in the same manner, I think he will be a solid replacement. We got some good players in return and hopefully we get lucky with the pacers pick over the summer. Still think we can be competitive this year if Leonard and garland stay healthy.

Here's the official tweet. I'm sad. Liked Zu a lot but I guess this is a huge vote of confidence for YNK
