Yeah not sure why. But I have a ton of respect for Jerry Sloan- I thought for sure some team would have hired him, but I �he chose to retire. May he rest in peace.

When he walked away from the Jazz, I too thought he still would have coached somewhere.
But after 1- 2 years, then I realized that he really didn't have the energy anymore. Because I'm sure he was getting offers, but that he just didn't want to do it anymore.
Maybe Deron Williams pushed him out in the middle of the year, maybe he was just tired, or a little of both.
But the fact that he never coached anywhere, not even college or high school basketball, showed that he was done. He's not the type of guy that did it for the money, but did it because he liked coaching. So he didn't have anything else in him, at that time.
Then, a few years ago, his mental health started deteriorating.
