My Experience at Intuit Dome

Clippers Forum » Clipper Blogs

I went to Intuuit Dome and it was the WORST experience I have ever had. I wouldn't go there for the Second Coming of Ch***t. First they screwed up my ticket and I missed 4 games.I worked on it for 5 days and hours on the phone.. I went to the staduim but they told me the office was closed when the rep said it was open. I asked for compensation--"Not our problem" They said they got it fixed but tonight they had my face but said I didn't have a ticket. Facial recognition is nonsense. It takes 2 seconds to swipe your cell and now our faces are in a data base

My Rep told me there were empty seats on "The Wall" I asked if I could switch OK said he. I got a ticket but it was worse than mine. There were a BUNCH of empty lower level seats and I would have paid the difference. There is no "Wall".It's the same bunch who were above the player's entrance at Staoles Maybe 5 roew. The "Wall" is maybe 5 rows. The difference is that they are courtside. Maybe it's because it wasn't an exciting game but they were the usual quite people. I got a worse ticket than mine for being on the Wall. The concessions are a joke. They had great stuff at Staples. I get double popcorn and a double red wine. Their wine is in a can and the popcorn was stale. I'd prefer a stale White Castle

To get to my seat at Staples took maybe 10 steps. At Intuit the stair cases are angled maybe 60 degrees and at least a three story climb. It was closer horizontally but higher vertically so it was a wash and I got a better ticket for the same money.at Staples. Their "board" was so close and so big that it was difficult to read.

To exit was a nightmare. We had to walk all ariund the stadium and down maybe 5 flights of stairs like rats in a maze. I waited awhile before leaving, but leaving the parking lots was a NIGHTMARE

Other that that it was a wonderful and almost as much fun as having sex with a porcupine. The only good thing I have to say is I'm not there now

double post

Cool story bro...

Thanks an way

Sucks to hear that! I went for the first time against the raptors and it was by far the best experience! Being a Chuckmark certified members helped too. Gave me a 10 bucks food vouchers and discounts on the foood items. The vibe was awesome too? Felt like a real clippers home game. Seems like having our own arena, all those lakers fans also stopped going to games. If the game would have been at staples center, half the fans would be cheering for the raptors but in Intuit the clippers fans were loud AF. Also the app worked perfectly and made purchasing merchandise and food much faster

I've been to four games at Intuit Dome. I live in Inglewood so its easy for me, but not so much for those who live outside the area.

The transition to Intuit from Staples are going to take some time. DTLA has $15-20 dollar parking lots just blocks from Staples, while Intuit doesn't have that yet. Staples didn't start off that smoothly either. Remember Staples opened in 1999 and LA Live and the rest of the surrounding didn't come until 2007. Intuit is tucked inside a extremely tight corner of Prairie and Century with small sidewalks in a busy intersection with no public transportation upgrades (yet). Its a much much bigger commitment and trek to get to Inglewood as opposed to DTLA which has five freeways, metro rail, and numerous streets. Then the perceived lack of star power in letting PG go and Kawhi out made it a non-urgent affair to get down to the new arena to see the team. And I've heard a few people not coming because they don't want to deal the the Intuit Dome app which is a pain in the azz when you first use it.

But a good team is starting to emerge from the ashes, two big glitzy hotels are coming, hopefully more parking options, improved Clipper shuttle service, more bus option, more bars/restaurants, etc. down the line. The arena is amazing and its ours. Give it a couple of years to get things really going. Staples/Crypto took years before the area became what it was. There was nothing around it for years until LA Live came in nearly ten years later in 2007

I have a season ticket and have had one for 20 years. From Axs I had one e mail address and from Clippers I had another They merged the two and since they were different I couldn't access my tickets. The webstie lead me to ticketmaster that doens't handle clipps stuff and then to Intuit bookeeping. I have a land line and a cell and the landline doesn't accept text. They had to verrify my bank acct so they wanted me to call my bank and have the phone # changed to the cell so they could text.. After five....

I know what I'll do. I'll change my facial recognition. I'll get ot those Griucho nose/ glasses Tape them to my naked behind and take a screen soot, Every time I enter, Ill drop trou and moon them

Great post. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it. I was on the other side of the arena from the wall but it's kind of cool over there as you can see all the fans on the wall getting INTO IT, pun intended

Thanks for the old school pic. It's hard to believe that it once looked like that when you see all the development that's gone up in the last two decades

You're right about the app but like everything else in the modern era, people will not only get used to it but see how it eventually benefits them. The problem is that they need to upgrade the app. I eventually figured out the shuttle deal but you really have to tap around before getting to the page that talks about the shuttles and even when you get to the shuttle page, it's sort of tough figuring out how to book a ride. In short, the app needs to be more user friendly

Great idea. Bart Simpson would love it. There's probably a scene from an episode where he does this and it works too. Since The Simpsons likes to make fun of technology.

I worked in Inglewood when the Crenshaw Mafia Bloods and The Playboy Gangster Crips were there. Great to see it now I called to get my ticket fixed. A guy offerererd me a ticket at double the price and steps. I called again. A guy said he could help he would send a text or call the next day. He never did. I called yeterday and got a ticket in the wall enter through the concourse in row 17 cheaper than the first with a refundable ticket, I got a good seat with only a few steps. I didn't go to....

They screwed up my tickets again After multiple phone calls to people who didn't know what they were doing I got an upgrade. I looked at the app and the new ticket wasn't there and I checked my card and it hadn't been charged. There is no way I'm going down there early and pay $60 for parking to be told they have no record of me again

I asked the guy for compensation for their multiple screw ups. A couple of court sides would have been fair. I got a song and dance about how their lawyers won't allow refunds. I never asked for one. How many people have asked for them?

Thanks for continuing to share with us what it's like.

What made them offer the upgrade in the first place?

Can you see the rest of your season tickets? Are you supposed to be able to see the rest of your season tickets? Or are they supposed to appear right before every game?

I've had season tickets twice and you see them as soon as you pay for them or the schedule comes out, whatever comes first. Not sure how it is with the Clippers or if things changed when they went to ID. Sounds to me like this is something that the ticket rep could've/should've handled from the jump

They now use Ticketmaster/Clippers at Staples they used AXS. My AXS e-mail and Intuit e-mails are different. I tried to change them but I coulddn't After about a week somebody figurerd it out. I went to the game. Dlippers had my face ID and the ticket was on my cell but Ticketmaster still had no record that I bought a ticket. I asked a guy to fix it and he refused.

I

I have a bad hip and can't use the ticket. After talking to four guys I made deal for a new ticket. He fixed the e-mail problem he said.. I called right back and asked a guy to check it and he refused. I do not have the new ticket just the old one that tickmeater didn't have on file. They changed nothing

I'm going to end up eating my ticket.

Just a heads up to people transferring tickets to the people they are attending the game with. Choose the email option as opposed to the text option. I emailed the person who I went to the first game with and worked with no problem

I texted the 2nd person and when they clicked on their text, it just took them to their app with nowhere to accept their tickets. When I got to the arena, I sought out one of the staff who is assigned to helping people with questions or general issues. I told him about the issue and he immediately said that he recommends emailing as there is some glitch going on with the text. There is an option for you to pull up the ticket that you transferred where you can edit it from text to email. As soon as I did that and sent the email, the person receiving the ticket just clicked on the "accept ticket" link in the email and you immediately see your ticket on your app

I'm not a fan of having a separate app, in general.

For example, for baseball, there's the Ballpark App, which works on most, if not all, ballparks. That's where your tickets appear.

I understand the Clippers wanted some specific features. But the principle of having a separate app for everything, is not great. Imagine someone who likes to attend different arenas, needing a separate app for every arena. There's some fans that like to see their team on the road too, sometimes.

It's also annoying for airlines, having their own app. But usually you don't really need the app, you can add your boarding pass to your digital wallet without really needing the app. So that's some less clutter taking up phone space.

It doesn't even seem like going cashless WITH facial recognition reduces the number of employees needed at the Intuit Dome.

Since in my case, there still needed to be an employee attending the facial recognition scanner inside the food lounge, in case it malfunctioned or was slow. Like it was at the food lounge I was at, where it was taking 13-16 seconds per scan.

All it seems to do is change the employee jobs from completing the cashless transaction on a card reader, to attending a face scanner.

Not that I want the number of jobs to be reduced. The whole point of building another arena is that it also creates a lot of jobs for the local community.

This is a bit of a spoiler alert for Curb Your Enthusiasm. But a few seasons ago, there was an idea to have a toilet adjust its height based on the height of one's male genitalia.

The Intuit Dome would be better off using scanners and sensors that did that, and adjusted urinal height accordingly, instead of using face scanners that don't always work and don't always work fast.

Sorry to hear you had that bad experience.

I have been to two Clippers game and was invited for the clippers beta test night before Intuit officially opened. I however have enjoyed every experience I’ve had. It’s definitely a change and something you need to adapt to, but once adapted everything feels easy and experience is fluid. Maybe being at the beta test helped me understand the app and new technology. Once you add chuckmark certified everything else feels easy. Just my experience. Hope everyone gets a chance to watch a game at the new stadium. Clippers def need us to come out more!

Great post. I was basically hinting at this earlier when I mentioned that in the long run, these technical advancements will benefit us. It's just a matter of waiting out the glitches and what not

Screw techno;ogy It benefits no one. I still have my slide rule.I have little interest in technology My firstcomputer had punch cards.Software was nice comfortable briefs. Philosophical. Is is better to have techincal intercourse with facial recognition or say Hi to a ticket taker who you've known for 5 years? Isn't that more pleasant? or have a 30 second chat with the person who gives you your popcorn. It felt like familyYou youngsters have been so trained by technology that people wait in line at the grocery for automated chesk out rather that go to an empty checker (tonight) ....

Real wives fart too.

And when they do, you also laugh, because they almost make a moment funny.

Now people going to self checkout instead of an empty employee lead checkout doesn't make sense to me.

You're just doing the work they would have been. That doesn't save work or time overall.

Whatever line moves faster, employee lead or self lead, is the one I go with. Sometimes employee lead ones scan things faster than I do anyways.

And, they can scan while I bag, so time is saved there too.

Doing what is quicker is reasonable. You never met my ex. She claimed women never fart. I rarely carry a cell phone and haven't worn a watch in at least 10 years. When given the choice of technonlgy or humantiy you kids choose technology There are few unrepentant children of the "60's left

On a lighter note can you kids count to 11 without a selfie? I would rather have diarrhea on an airplane than take a selfie Don't selfies grow hair on your palms or make you go blind?

I have no answer for that LMAO

Paper tickets were fine but I've had no problems with attending games in the recent era of pulling up tickets on your phone. I just think having to download an app for one particular team is taking it too far and even then, I'd have no problem with it if it were more user friendly. Every individual person having to have a ticket and app individually on their own phone, figuring out public transportation options and having multiple glitches that include not being able to text your tickets to people with that app is just a headache

I think the mistake they made was heaping all of this on us all at once. ID app, facial recognition, no entering the flagship unless you have a card on file on your app and so on could've been slowly integrated over the years. Start out with just the general ticketmaster or AXS option and then slowly introduce facial recognition and what not

Yeah in general I'm fine with digital tickets. It's just that other ticketing companies like TicketMaster and AXS have already done that. Having a separate app is annoying. It's becoming like airline, where you might have to have a separate app for every airline. Not the best analogy, but you get the point. What if every venue had their own app? So one for Intuit Dome. One for So Fi. One for Greek Theater. Etc. Whereas my analogy for the MLB Ballpark app is better. Many teams use that to display purchased tickets. And that's kind....

Thanks, didn't know that about the Timberwolves.

Back to @toohipcliptoslip's issue. There should have been better testing for people that were coming from AXS. Especially since they were trying to merge AXS and Ticketmaster users.

Also, other venues will print out paper tickets at the will call window if there's a problem with the ticket not showing up on the app, as long as you can show proof of purchase.

Doesn't sound like Intuit Dome has that backup option.

@toohipcliptoslip, those other times you bought a ticket and it didn't appear, did they email you a receipt with an order number? If so, then at other venues, that would have been enough, along with identification, to print out a paper ticket at the will call window.

One other thing that bothers me.

All throughout the venue, there's the Clippers Blue branding which is close to Royal Blue. That's the blue that they've had for few decades.

But, with the new logos, the court has Navy Blue.

Why are there two different blues? That's not good branding. Pick one blue.

Good question although if you look at the trim striping on their uniforms, there are two different shades of blue. The darker shade that you see in their dark uniforms as well as a lighter shade that you see in and around the concourses at ID

I have also had issues with the app... they got ironed out, but it took some time and patience.

You're right. There uniforms still do have that older royal blue color too. It's maybe 2 or 3 millimeters around the trim though? https://cdn.nba.com/teams/uploads/sites/1610612746/2024/02/LAC2425_AIS_02.jpg?imwidth=1920 They might as well have gotten rid of it. If they were going to have both blues, a 33% red trim, 33% royal blue, 33% white trim would have been better.....

When I saw the floor I thought I was having an acid lash. I like it (not the acid flash back)

Interesting about how full player names are listed.

@TrueBlood, if you have some pics of other stadiums jumbotrons, can you post a few? So I can confirm whether others have full names or just last names.

I don't think I took many pics of the jumbotrons at other arenas.

I'll see what I can find. I have been to Mercedes Benz in Atlanta but don't recall how the scoreboard looked. I'll try to dig back to 2018 on my phone to see what I can find as well as look on twitter for my NBA arena pics and see which scoreboards are similar

In the meantime, here is a picture of the halo board at Sofi. What I like is that it stretches from back of end zone to back of end zone. Baseline to baseline at ID would've been the NBA equivalent so I think that may have worked a little better. Don't get me wrong. I like the halo board but it's just a little too large IMO
