Clippers To Hire Jeremy Castleberry As Assistant Coach

The Los Angeles Clippers will hire Jeremy Castleberry as an assistant coach.

Castleberry is a close friend to Kawhi Leonard.

Castleberry followed Leonard from the San Antonio Spurs to the Toronto Raptors last season.

I don't know who he is. But I'd be lying if that negative thought never crossed my mind too.

It looks like cronyism from the outside. A travelling sponge attached to Kawhi. Hopefully this hire doesn't disrupt the staff harmony.

I think Balmer and Doc don't really care if he is good or not because he will not play anyway, he just want to make Kawhi happy. And My guess is his name is already part of negotiation when Kawhi decided to join with the Clippers.

my thoughts exactly. Also weirded out that a player has an insider in the coaches circle... that is a little odd to me. But on the plus side, the coaching circle has someone who knows how to maximize Kawhi's performance (and may add a bit of insider value himself).

I'm not happy about this, but what can we do? I have a feeling that the NBA owners meeting are going to address a lot of issues that have come up recently. Prime among them will be how players like Paul George and Anthony Davis forced their way out of their current teams with time still left on their contracts. Also, what might come up are agents, like Rich Paul, basically tampering and getting players to initiate these types of requests.

Nothing. Besides who cares if his hiring helped in getting Kawhi. His coaching obviously didn’t hurt the Raps. No biggie.
