Austin Rivers Injury News/Updates

That is definitely very good news. Hopefully Austin will be back and ready in a few. He has certainly played above expectations recently and deserving of the starting SG spot.

Dam I was hoping he was going to return for the Thunder game. Would of helped with the offense and guarding Westbrook.

Clippers news: Austin Rivers getting second opinion on injured Achilles

At this time, the Clippers won’t know or have an update on Rivers until they get they second (and maybe even a third) opinion on the right Achilles.

That's pretty interesting. I imagine if they're getting a second opinion on a strain they think it's worse than they believe? It must not be getting better as fast as they hoped.

Yeah, smart move. You DO NOT want to prematurely come back from anything related to the Achilles. I was surprised he was day 2 day...even for a strain.

Austin's game is not cerebral at all which relies a lot on his quickness. A torn achilles would end Austin's career.

Very good point. It would at the very least end the style of basketball we know him for. I'd think at worst it could be a partial tear or a bad strain, either way it's something he needs to take some serious time off to not only heal, but strengthen those tendons. We need a healthy Austin for the Playoffs Smile

I am going to be the "negative" one here. With Austin out, we are going to be able to evaluate a lot of these players like CJ Williams (whom I am very pleased with). Even though this may hurt us in the short run, in the long run we will be better for it. I'm just counting down the days until Austin's contract is up for renewal so Jerry West can trade him for draft picks

Can't hate on that. Plus, it keeps Doc honest in his rotations.

I was really neg on Austin but by season's end we could be begging to keep him. He has been playing within the offense. 30 + points. He may get better. It is quite possible that he could be playing at borderline all star or he could be a bust but even thinking of him and all star in the same neuron used to be a joke.

Other wis it is a good testing ground because some of our players might have promise.

Any updates, Austin is still out while Blake essentially gets the same injury and is back sooner. Austin must have taken a series blow.

Sorry totally forgot about the foot injury my bad. Any updates?

Nope. At least 2 weeks was the last update.
