Blake Griffin Not Interested in Testing Free Agency.

"Sources close to Griffin have been adamant that he is planning to re-sign in L.A. and that he’s not open to going anywhere. Clippers president and head coach Doc Rivers has mirrored that, saying he believes Griffin retires as a Clipper."

Apparently multiple sources saying Griffin has no interest in testing the market, wants to re-sign. I guess that OKC thread has less weight now.

This is exactly why I'm more loyal to Griffin over CP3. Dude is going to be a career Clipper and I just need him to get healthy. Love his work ethic and loyalty. Just has to stop punching people!

This is great news if indeed true. No circus. No doubt. No emoji wars, lol.

Great news! Also great for CP to resign. No where else could give him a better chance to win.

Kinda had a feeling this was the case with Blake. He's loves the city, the endorsements, doing improv at the Hollywood comedy clubs, the movie producing opportunities, etc. You don't see him on banana boats with other stars talking about superteams and rings. He's not going anywhere unless we trade him.

Nothing wrong with you somehow being "loyal" to Blake, but how on earth is he more deserving of a Clipper fans loyalty than Chris Paul? Is it simply because we drafted him? Because otherwise it makes no sense.

Chris re-signed with us a few years ago with no free agency circus at all. He's objectively the greatest player in franchise history and has been praised for his work ethic, competitiveness, and leadership his entire career.

Why is a player who's simply not as good, who seems increasingly distracted by his future in showbiz, and who can't seem to keep his hands to himself more deserving of a Clipper fans loyalty?

Edit: As Clemenza pointed out, it's CP who's always talking about rings, not Blake. My "loyalty" favors fierce competitors over aspiring comedians and movie producers.

Yes, it's largely because he's ours from day one. Paul spent his best years elsewhere. I'd love Paul to stay and he's amazing, but I'll never have the love for him I have for Blake probably.

I hope Doc Rivers is in president of basketball operations right now and into 2017...

Do what is best for the clippers organization ...

If you get a great deal for him...one that gets equal talent and help with the cap.

Haven't posted on here in year or more, but but a few weeks back I met Blake Griffin and Taylor Griffin in Montreal. I was there on vacation visiting family, Blake was there hosting a comedy show a couple nights.

Anyways being a life long clipper fan I had to say hey. He was super nice and told him to not leave and he said he really appreciated that. Then I talked to his brother, also super nice and asked him what he has been up too. I told him championship or not, Blake needs to be the first clipper player to have his jersey retired.

He agreed and to not believe any media rumors.

Anyways I thought I would share.

I take what these "multiple sources" say or leak out with a grain of salt. We'll know soon enough what he really does. But I hope he stays and is healthy and actually plays to his full potential as he's yet to do. We need him to do that to get past the 2nd round.

That's for sure, "multiple sources" also had Durant staying in Oklahoma right up until the moment that he didn't. Durant's case proves that you can't count on anything until the ink is on the contract.

Yep, someone was saying that last year.Wink

Good no need to break up this team or rebuild just find the right role player to surround the big 3.

I haven't been here much either, but I do miss seeing you around here brother. Thanks for sharing.

I'd rather us float around the top like the 90s Jazz than go back to the never-ending rebuild. A healthy Blake Griffin assures us a shot at greatness unlike anything the Clippers have experienced in Franchise history. I just hope he wants to be an NBA Champion more than he wants to be a Pop star

Durant had better options. Not so with Blake.

LOL...I'm so glad you have such a high opinion of your own "objectivity". Obviously it is your opinion and you are entitled to it. They are both great players and superstars. As to who is "simply not as good" much like Westbrook and Durant...it's pretty much a toss up.

You can't really say that, a player of Blake's caliber can generate his own options. All he would have to do is express interest in playing in a certain place and that team (with the possible exception of the Warriors who are already ridiculously stacked) would find a way to make it happen. If Blake expressed a desire to team up with LeBron in Cleveland, do you really think that LeBron and the Cleveland management wouldn't find a way to make it happen? Doesn't matter that they don't really need him, GS didn't really need Durant either, but did that stop them? The reality is that it's a player driven league, if an extremely talented player wants to play in a particular place, that team will find a way to accommodate him.

The point is that there is no one available that has cap space and what we have to offer. Yeah sure if Blake wants to go to Cleveland and they can find a way to make that kind of space then Blake can go live in Cleveland. There is no GS in the mix which means there is no California contender in the mix. Only GS really can offer what we have and that's not happening. So no good options for Blake. Durant was leaving OKC for Ca..

Blake seems to love the LA lifestyle too much and I don't even think there's anyone or anything for him in Oklahoma the suggested other possibility. Is his family even there?

There would be nothing for him to go to and a lot to miss out on after establishing himself in LA and also with the known reality that he likes all the extra perks of movie making and such in LA. He committed himself to some things which are not as easily executed if he were to leave, so no surprise.

Unless something drastic were to happen, I can't imagine him leaving, and even if he has the same mentality as Durant which it really doesn't seem like he does, what's the better situation that he would go to?

Durant left OKC for the quickest path to a ring, California had very little to do with it.

At the present time I also doubt very seriously that he leaves. I was just making the point that he wouldn't lack for options if he so chose to.

You are correct. Blake does luv L.A. a lot. he has said it over & over. he doesn't like change. there's nothing in okc for him. plus all his business ventures are all in L.A. (tv/film) & he knows in the near future Clippers will get their own arena. why leave? I also don't see CP3 leaving either. Smile

Chris has always maintained a significantly better BPM, WS/48, PER, RPM, and Net rating.

It's only a "toss up" between CP and BG if you're being subjective Mr. Green

I trust Blake Griffin on his word that he's not leaving LAC. What else would he go? GSW definitely not an option. There a good chance in OKC, but why would he leave LA and his sponsors. He love it here. He have a family here. It's up to the front office and coach that can still provide the essential needs for Blake Griffin to feel wanted and special. I love Blake Griffin. He was the reason why Clippers are relevant today and one of the main reason persuading Chris Paul to come to LAC and sign him long term. The only person I have doubt to stay would be Chris Paul, but even that I have doubt he will leave unless he really want that ring. This will be an interesting year that for sure. Plus we should all feel appreciate that Blake is here with us. I hate hearing ridiculous rumors that trading Blake for spare parts would make us better. I don't think I could recall that work and lead to a championship team.

i would keep Blake over Cp, but why not keep both if we have a choice. Glad he's expressing that he wants to stay.
