Clipper Chemistry Issues

In Los Angeles, Lue will look to push Leonard and George to forgo certain requests or standards to set a better example for their teammates, league sources said. Additionally, he’ll establish a clearer internal hierarchy with the remaining role players, ensuring that players are on the same page and there is no confusion regarding roles and responsibilities. This is Leonard’s team, and Lue is going to let the locker room know that. 2 hours ago " via Jovan Buha @ The Athletic Before every Clippers game last season, the team’s training staff would honor Kawhi Leonard’s request and create a private space for his pregame routine. The staffers would enter and take over that space for roughly 20 to 45 minutes, according to multiple team and league sources. On the road, there were occasions when the space they occupied was the female staffers’ locker room. That also happened sometimes before a doubleheader at Staples Center when the changing of the court limited the availability of the Los Angeles Kings’ locker room, where Leonard normally warmed up privately. 2 hours ago " via Jovan Buha @ The Athletic Various Clippers players, coaches and staffers were aware of the arrangement and some felt uneasy about it. While there appeared to be no sexist intent, the visual of women staffers being unable to use their locker room to use the bathroom, to change clothes or to access their personal belongings while Leonard stretched did not go unnoticed. At least one player mentioned it to a confidant and at least one staffer complained about it to coworkers. It was an awkward arrangement, but drawing too much attention to it risked being seen as going against Leonard, the team’s unquestioned star, in the eyes of the organization. “What were they going to do about it?” one league source said.....

That article was pretty damning. I’m usually okay with Jovan but this was incredibly messed up timing for the players and fans of this team.

A long read and some of it cringe but think the main take away is we have to flip the culture. Pat Bev might be able to follow suit but Lou Will has to go.

Hearing Marcus and Zubac getting into it was concerning. Reggie and Patterson coming back has horrible optics now

Thankfully there is a bunch of drama going on to distract people from this stuff

I can see why Lou unfollowed Trez lol. Anyone a part of that Warriors team that had issues is gone. Beverly already knew to play nice

What you mean by this? Warriors team?

I’m fully expecting a brawl in the Philly game

The Warriors 1st round team we had seemed to over hype some culture of making the 8th seed

He blames Doctorpus Rivers:

paul george on all the smoke pod: “doc used me like a ray allen or jj redick, all pin downs. i can do that but it’s not my game. i need some mixes of pnr’s, some post ups, just different touches.”

Paul George: Clippers Never Adjusted While Blowing 3-1 Lead vs. Nuggets

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2920691-paul-george-clippers-never-adjusted-while-blowing-3-1-lead-vs-nuggets

Los Angeles Clippers forward Paul George admitted his team didn't make any adjustments after going up 3-1 in the Western Conference Semifinals against the Denver Nuggets before falling in seven games.

During an appearance on All The Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on Wednesday, George said a lack of preparation cost the Clippers a chance to advance.

George said:

"During that whole process we never worked on adjustments. We never worked on what to do differently. We're just literally having the same s--t happen over and over again. It started to play a trick on you like 'Man, what's going on?' We're talking amongst each other, the conversation is like, 'Nah, we're going to be all right,' the conversation should've been like, 'Nah, we need to change.'"

"I screwed his daughter. He tried to screw me," Paul George allegedly said.

Lol still going

Doc has to send someone to tackle or hard foul PG at this point

First off, the PG / Doc chemistry was a big concern going into the season. There was a high chance of a toxic atmosphere, almost like the Austin Rivers situation to a degree. I'm sure Doc was like "Are you freakin' kidding me?" when Kawhi demanded to play with PG.

Secondly, Paul George is a total b*tch, pardon my French. The guy is so thin-skinned and he sees no issues with himself. Every problem is due to others, never himself. It's funny that Montrezz and him didn't get along because their personalities are similar.

After we win this long overdue championship, I hope we pull a "Blake Griffin" with PG, get him to sign then send him off. It's hard to cheer for this guy, he's a total douche.

I’ll be interested when Lou has to do his media day

Yeah, to be honest, Jovan Buha is starting to seem more and more like a desperate attention wh0re looking to put up whatever scandalous words he can come up with.... SMH!

Sixers practice notes: COVID concerns hang over Doc Rivers' first training camp https://www.phillyvoice.com/sixers-practice-notes-doc-rivers-covid-adjustments-training-camp-joel-embiid-ben-simmons/ "I’m very concerned if we can pull this off," Rivers said on a Zoom call Tuesday. "Just watching football, in college you have Ohio State missing games, Pittsburgh and Baltimore can’t even play a game [in the NFL], they can’t get to it. Hopefully, they play Wednesday now. The difference in football [is] they play once a week, they have one thousand players, so when you miss three or four players you can still get away with it." "If we miss three or four players, we’re in trouble, especially with the amount of games, we’re playing 3-4 games a week. So if one of our guys or two of our key guys get the virus and they miss 10 days to 14 days, that can be eight games. In a 72-game season that can knock you out of the playoffs." It's closer to normalcy than a trip to Disney World, but there's a lot Rivers can already see changing about his preseason process. Conditioning was a big theme of Rivers' call on Tuesday, the coach emphasizing that it's hard to know who is actually in shape when they aren't able to go through full-team workouts yet. Unpacking an answer about how he can get Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid to the next level, Rivers underscored that conditioning is one of the bare minimum requirements it takes to become a championship player. The rest of his preseason checklist flows from that very basic principle. "Normal training camp, I would come in day one and know who’s in shape and who’s not," Rivers said. "The reason that’s so important is because of injury. You don’t want to be working on something the guys literally, physically can’t maintain. I would say conditioning would be first, and....

Kevin O'Connor

Interesting comment. Paul George finished 33% of his total plays using the pick-and-roll, which was a career-high. The prior high was 25% in OKC, via @SynergySST stats. That’s very different from a Ray Allen or JJ Redick style role.

Crazy because I always thought Pg was pretty laid back. But then again I don’t really follow players outside activities unless they’re with the clippers. How a year changed my perception of him

Let's get past the second round first. But yes, PG burned some bridges this year, especially after all we gave up for him...and please no one start with the spiel of it was for Kawhi too. He was a free agent. So no. All those picks and players traded were for PG.

Everyone said that Kawhi demanded PG even Kawhi said he wanted PG since they should of been teammates on the PACERS

Think we will be fine once we finally get started

"At the end of the day I don't think we deserved it. We wasn't prepared enough going into it -- just us making adjustments standpoint. We wasn't prepared. We didn't put the work into it. It was kind of just like, 'Yo, we got PG, we got Kawhi, we got [Lou Williams], [Montrezl Harrell]. We gonna be straight. We gonna figure it out.' "

Nothing like watching these athletes butcher the English language.

LA Clippers' Paul George says team wasn't prepared enough in playoff collapse https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30439358/la-clippers-paul-george-says-lack-adjustments-hurt-team-playoffs Lue and George have said the Clippers need a lot more time together on the floor in practices. George said that was a major reason why the Clippers were often not on the same page and could be seen barking at one another at times during the playoffs. "I relate it to we didn't practice during the whole year, and that is hard to do when you are putting a fresh new group of guys together," George said. "The problems you have during games, those s--- can be ironed out....

No adjustments. No practice. Confirms Doc is the laziest coach in the NBA. Cruise control making his millions while he was getting in 18.

I don't wish ill on the 76'ers team (unless we r playing them Wink) but I really hope Doc gets finally exposed for his incompetence.

I spoke with a lot of their fans. They seem to have the same complaints against their previous coach, Brett Brown, as we did against Doc Rivers. I feel bad because they expect the world of Doc Rivers, and they will be thoroughly disappointed. I also don't wish ill on the 76ers, but Doc is going to ruin that team.
