Congrats Trez!!. But Clippers curse. Now Doc will play him 33 minutes a game and Zu will play 15. Great

Awesome- congrats to Trez!

That’s fantastic! Very much deserved. So happy for him as he has always given his all, always produces and what a find he has been.

Good for him but did the the voters just got tired of giving it to Lou Will?

I was thinking the same thing. Also, as of yesterday, considering Trez’s mediocre play of late, his contract extension was looking reasonable. After today, we probably can’t afford him.

Bravo! Congrats to Trez.. Still wondering how we keep both Trez and Morris Sr, who are both free agents at the end of the year, on the roster. Plus we have Kabengale in the wings who I'm thinking replaces one of these guys if we only bring one back moving forward.

Good for Trez. But they should just name the award after Lou when he retires.

Sign and trade? I agree we can't sign him to a massive contract, but we can't let him go for free. Even some picks and journeymen in return.

Hahaha. Maybe we can offer Ty Lue to take over MIL?

We can afford him but if it comes down to Morris or Trez, you have to Take Morris. I hope it doesn't come to that but it might.

It is about bird rights. If we have the rights to both, you can keep both. If we don't have the rights to one we probably have to let him go unless he will take another exception. We have no decisions to make here. There s no room to maneuver. We cannot get under the cap so it must be exceptions we use. It cannot be one or the other - we will be over the cap for all decisions so one leaving or staying has no impact really on our ability to sign the other. It's just luxury tax or luxury tax I think.

Ballmer being the philanthropist that he is, I don’t think he cares much about paying the luxury tax.

Both Trezz and Morris are coming back next year almost no doubt about it. It's only money and Baller has made like 10 billion in the past 6 months. Literally. He don't GAF. Or at least he shouldn't.

Trezz winning the 6th man award might cost us a little bit but also the uncertainty of next season with Covid (can't play a whole season in a bubble) coupled with a possible reduction in the salary cap will likely reduce the competition to sign him.

We're gonna win the championship and Baller is gonna bring back almost the exact same team and we should be favorites to repeat.

Man, it would take a huge amount of assets to get him, and I trading Giannis away would mean a restart, which means they would like picks (that we don't have). Can you imagine though? Giannis on this team would be unstoppable.

100% agree

IIRC, Morris signed a 1 year contract with the Knicks so we don't have his bird rights. That means we have to have that cap space available (cap hold) to re-sign Morris. Haven't paid attention to the cap rules for a few years so I don't know where we are in terms of tax-luxury tax (capped out). That would tell us where we stand. We might have to renounce other players to make the numbers work for both guys..Just not sure about it since I don't know who's up for a new contract or not. My point is that Ballmer's money can only take you so far because there are rules that keep deep pockets from curtailing the rules.
