SGA Pregame Drills with Sam Cassell

He has a way tighter handle than I realized. Very fluid. Gonna be a star.

I say he starts by next week/four games into the season

He should starts at openings and Bradley shouldn’t feel disrespected coming off the bench since he just got paid

Kid is an absolute weapon. Looks like he already has all the skill and talent, just needs to be aggressive.

Bradley is good at putting pressure on the ball, but his overall defense is only above average to good, but not in any way amazing. Overall as an offensive player he's ranged from poor to mediocre through his career, so yes, I am 100% fine with him going to the bench, but then again, I didn't care much for him coming back anyways outside of just being a trade asset.

He is still raw. Not sure he can be a starter this early... His game is too unpolished. But the potential is very strong.

that would be awesome, but it's not likely. Nonetheless Shai is the future. He is going to be good. We just don't know how good.

I disagree but I think we will see within the first week how polished or unpolished his game is

Just going off of preseason and other clips from the summer... that is all I got to base my opinion on. But its not crazy to say that a rookie coming into the NBA will have a lot of adjustments to make to settle into the league. That polish comes not only from adjusting to the speed and size of the opponents, but also developing chemistry with the team. That's just the start. It's not a crazy statement to say he isn't ready to start beginning day 1 - historically very few rookies have started from day 1.

All I am saying is, we don't need to start him, we've got more guards that we know what to do with and we have the luxury of easing him into the league. His handles, speed and decision making can calm a bit.

His release is still so slow, his shooting arm bows out sideways before he shoots. Also, in the last few clips it looks like he has Blake Griffin syndrome releasing on the way down instead of the way up. His over the head passes he is dribbling super high as well. I gotta agree, potentially an all star but quite a ways to go. His length, defensive awareness, and pace are amazing. He looks like the game is moving slowly for him, whereas Jerome looks like the game is going by a million miles an hour..

The shooting release needs to speed up a lot, but his handle and dribbling and passing are very impressive. I already think he is a better player than P Bev and Avery Bradley

So, do you still think he is too raw? SGA is our best guard right now (all around) I’ve been preaching that since we drafted him and was praying we would draft him. This kid is legit

Call me crazy but I got a funny feeling SGA might be the best player on the Clippers period by the end of the season. I didn't like Tobias not demanding the ball from Pat Bev in those final possessions in the 4th quarter last night.
