just found this little statistic in the pregame report on clippers official site

KEEPING HOPE ALIVE: The Clippers have struggled to start the season, as they are now off to a 2-12 start in their first 14 games...The teams with the worst records in NBA history through the first 15 games of a season to make the playoffs:

2004-05 Chicago Bulls (1-14)

1996-97 Phoenix Suns (1-14)

1984-85 Cleveland Cavs (2-13)

1976-77 Chicago Bulls (2-13)

1967-68 Chicago Bulls (1-14)

go clips! Smile

Chicago did it. let's hope we can too. If this was the eastern conference and it was 2004 I would like our chances better. But hey you never know.

wow...this boosted my confidence up even more. thanks for that. Us clipper fans really need something to help us get through this.

Im sure the fans of those teams hoped and prayed the team would turn around. Hopefully we can too. Go Clips.

We need another SF in the worst way. I hope Ricky's problem in a sore knee and rest and therapy will fix it. Right now a SF who can score is a big key If they realize last game wasn't a fluke and they should have crushed Denver even so short handed and with a new Zack. Get Chris to work on his jumping ability. There are exercises. Three inches would mean a world of difference (no pe*** jokes please)

I believe we need a strong perimeter defender to many guys outside are getting beat or don't know how to get around a screen in time so the other team gets easy looks. I'm not sure on Collins Defense but we need someone who is a sure thing.

Yup, I agree, it seems that every game, one of our bigs gets dunked on on the face.

That Denver game was the only time I've ever seen Camby get dunked on.

Every game, the paint gets open up like the Red Sea. I don't know if its the coaching, but something has to change.

Collins---Dude. He had a foul every 30 seconds and his jumper probably would hit "Gold what's his name" in the 2nd row half the time. His only use is to sit on the bench to prevent it from floating off into outer space. Peremiter defense. Remember the Q Ross fantasies? If only he had a shot. Eric doesn't do half bad. AL has long enough arms to do the job. Defense is 50% motivation on an athletic team like ours.

I like how EG is learning on D and doesn't bite so often on pump fakes or gets blown by.

Al just has poor recovery he tries to go over and help but seems too slow our gets his path back to his man blocked and it's too late. For this I just rather have Al stay on his man our bigs can usually get the job done on their own without much assistance besides that I rather the opposing team score 2 points on a man to man post shot than getting a 3 on a open look.

Baron tries to get steal happy at times and misses turning into his man blowing past him. I'd rather Baron try to get a steal in the passing lanes rather trying to force it in man coverage.

Toohip i still think having Ross on our team would of at least translated into 2-3 more wins. He mastered our plays and always played harder than the rest of our team. Diving for the ball, playing with that intensity. Gordon is our future shooting guard and we all know that. Yet if you think you wouldn't rather have Ross right now than Ricky or D Jordan or Paul Davis, you might be crazy ; ). Don't forget how much he did for the team. He is definitely one of those special players where stats don't even tell half the story. His last year or two with us he started hitting that mid range shot pretty good. I remember first season or two though he couldn't hit a shot to save his life lol. The fact that he was undrafted gives him even more credibility but also explains his work ethic (Ben Wallace).

Btw after reviewing Ross' stats i saw some interesting things. Ross was shooting 43 percent from 3 his last season with us after shooting 25,20 and 0 his first 3 seasons with us. He didn't shoot a ton but still he was hitting them. Also he never really was a big slasher so his 43 percent career field goal percentage isn't that terrible. 06-07 he shot 46.7 percent from the field all season. Then in the playoffs he was shooting 53.4 percent. Just a few thoughts ;p
