Blake Griffin's Free Throw Shooting.

Clippers Forum » Clippers News & General Discussions

I fear that Griffin's free throw shooting is returning somewhat to the mean. He's been shooting around .582% over the last five game. He's certainly in a bit of a slump. Hopefully, his free throw numbers will climb back up soon. His free throw shooting has been the thing that has impressed me the most about his growth as a player this season. I feel like the fact that he's been knocking down free throws at a higher clip--for the most part--this season has really helped his confidence.

Fatigue. End of story.

^ Yup. He's around 75% over the last 2 months, so I'm not gonna sweat a 5 game stretch.

But he is scoring at a career high, FT is not the reason we are lose those tight games, that falls on the shoulders of those that are not performing *cough* duds *cough*

His improvement has been over a sustained stretch so I think he has actually improved and not got lucky. I think he will be fine and it's probably just fatigue like Cleepers said.

Fatigue and his back spasm has been killing him on ft

As he puts up 36 and 40 points within 3 days. I'm sure it'll be a nice relief when CP comes back and takes some of the burden off of his shoulders. That being said, I don't want Blake to regress to passive Blake, just a Blake who gets to play less minutes and take less than 10 hard fouls a game.

I mean I'd miss my free throws too if I just got shoved to the floor on the previous play.

Yeah, I don't see to much into the missed free throws. They are all just about in line, just seem to all hit the rim. That tells me he is tired from trying to carry the team. I know there have been others helping like Jamal, but I feel like Blake's game is also physically more demanding. It is going to exhaust him that much more.

I like when he do a Jamal style dribble dribble and attack Oden to draw a foul, I though it was Jamal.

He definitely looks fatigued. Some of those dunks last night lacked his usual lift. He's been running a bit slower of late. I'm hopeful that is the reason for the slump. I think a nice little break will help.

Also, I cannot confirm, but I think the Clippers have played the most games of any team this season. All Star break, plus a nice March schedule, may be just what the "Doc" ordered.

Oh yeah. I heard that the other day.

I looked it up. Most teams are around 4-49. Clips have played 52.

He's not an elite Fat shooter, so some streakiness is in order, he should be fine.

I'll trust his season stats rather than 5 games.
