Nikola Pekovic, Timberwolves Agree to Deal 5 Yrs/$60 Million

Clippers Forum » NBA Basketball Talk

They finally agree, 5 years and 60 million. Any thoughts?

Would've loved to have him on the Clippers, but getting him was always a longshot, regardless of the method.

He's a bit overpayed right now though.

Pek is a beast!!

DJ for Pek IMO!

Would be nice, but there's no way the Timberwolves would ever take that trade now.

The window for that trade, which was when Kahn was the GM and the organization might have actually been stupid enough to do that trade, has long since passed.

DJ + an unprotected first rounder next year for Pek.

Asides from the "trade" talk, Pekovic has emerged as a really quality center the last 2 seasons. Wolves have some nice pieces, and if they can keep LOve and Rubio healthy, they will have a pretty sweet team of Rubio, Love, Williams ( who REALLY came around last year ) and Pekovic. I'm not so sure about Shabazz muhammed anymore, I really think he's going to be the Titus Young of the NBA.

Wolves are set frontcourt wise for the future but still they are a bit soft defensively but they are a team heading into the right direction at last.

Wolves still aren't going to take that trade lol.

They would probably demand at least Jamal Crawford, DJ, and two unprotected first round picks for this year and 2016.

Clippers aren't going to get Pek without giving up something big.

Yeah, losing AK47 didn't help in that regard.

The guy took a 7mil pay cut to join the Nets. That's a lot of cash, he must have really wanted to compete.

Wouldn't be surprised if AK47 got some "Russian diamonds" or if there was something underhanded that happened.

Either that or he is getting some on the side.

I can quite easily believe that.
