It's spanish press sorry
Atleast we would have 2 championship back up Centers, And im sure he is friends with Chauncey
Wow- I wonder what does this mean- isn't this too many centers? We'd also be at 15 players with guaranteed contracts on the roster, right? Or could it be a prelude to a trade?
Darko is a better option than Hollins imo.I hope this is true. You can have Darko,Odom and Ronny split up minutes based on performance and have Hollins and Trey around incase of injury.Would be great if we can bring in Darko because he is a defensive 7 footer which is what we need.
For ppl dont speak e spanish or read it lol----translate ![]()
Darko Milicic has decided to return to Europe to forget. The Serbian power forward has been offered to several European clubs, Real Madrid was interested in recent days for him, but announced in a Serbian web will continue in the NBA.
In fact, in the orbit of the Clippers and is more than likely that if was speaking is because it is very close to signing on this or any other franchise.
Milicic club appreciates the interest and commitment white NBA, where he spent ten seasons over five different clubs without ever giving a good result despite the high expectations generated at the time.
you can never have too many 7 footers
Cut Leslie and sign Darko to vet's min and still stay under the luxury threshold...hmmm.
Interesting. I'd be fine with this, if true, even if it meant cutting Leslie. Leslie's not going to see the floor anyway with all the guards we have. And, with the Lakers aquiring Howard, we could use a big with a little more muscle than DJ and Hollins have.
Honestly I want him but there's too many centers now.
loosely translated: Darko has decided to forget returning to europe. the serbian center had been targetted by several european clubs, including real madrid, but he has announced over the web that he will continue playing in the NBA. in fact, the clippers are looking at him. it is probable that he has made these declarations because hes close to signing with the clippers. darko thanks real madrid for their interest, but hes betting on playing in the nba, where he has been playing for 10 years and 5 teams, without ever fulfilling the promise with which he went into the nba.
Thanks bullterrier, that's helpful. Now I just hope the news isn't coming from the Spanish equivalent of Bleacher Report.
I think we'll probably trade one of our bigs for a 2nd round, as we have none till 2016 I believe?
I hope we don't waste that 15th spot on Darko. We already have 6
PF/Cs.
And correct me if I'm wrong but I think the clippers go into the luxury if they sign even 1 minimum contract. This team needs a backup 1 or 2/3. Not a terrible center with a bad attitude.
If the Rockets waive Shaun Livingston, he would be the perfect fit with the CP3/Chauncey injuries. At least we get to see more of Eric Bledsoe.

^^^^Lmao
If we have a chance to sign a defensive 7 footer for the min I would jump at that even if we had 8 centers signed.Don't forget he was a problem for the Clippers when we played the Wolves. So having him work with BG and DJ can help their growth a lot.Hollins can dunk but that is about it.Trey can shoot but he is still working on his all around game.
Darko is exactly what we need.Clippers big weakness last year was defense and now we lost Reggie and K-Mart.Odom and Turiaf don't really make up for those loses, defensively at least but you bring in Darko and we have a very solid group of bigs.If he doesn't work out who cares we have him for the min,we can use him as a trading piece. He brings more to the table than Hollins and Turiaf.
His attitude might be a problem but with him we have another guy to hard foul people trying to punk Blake and DJ and he can make Free Throws. We don't need another PG or SG.We might need another SF but I rather get Darko cause with him on the court we can use Odom at the 3 at times.I hope we get him,he can improve one of our biggest weaknesses which is our defense.
As of now, DJ, LO, Ronnie, or Hollins can not guard Dwight or any other big man. All these are shot blocking undersized bigs. Having a 7 footer who actually has some body can only help and give us an extra body to throw out there. We are fine at the 1. With CP3/Bled/Chauncy. Same with the 3. Caron/Hill/Craw/LO. I rather have Darko who can contribute, has exp. and is a 7 foot defensive minded player than someone we'll call up or never use like Leslie.
Our biggest hole is frontcourt help and darko's much better than turiaf and hollins...and DJ. Make it happen.
Darko is MUCH better than Ronny and Hollins. Would be a great move. That guy is tough, mean, and an excellent post defender. A lot of us were hoping he'd be signed a month ago. This would be great for the team.
15th roster being used means nothing. If we need to free up a spot At some point we just waive one of the cheap guys.
I never thought I'd ever say this..but I wouldn't mind Darko on our team. He suprised me last year with his improved game.
I say grab him, you can never have too many semi- skilled 7 footers.
I think we should add him to give us more versatility in the paint.
Adding him is only redundancy. In my opinion he will give us an addition 1 win lol.
If we're are going to have any chance to stop the Lakers it might not be bad to add Darko. That way we can play at least 2-3 bigs to stop D12 and Gasol.
This signing will keep me off the front office haterade. Make it happen sack
I don't agree... DJ is the exact same height and weight as Howard. DJ plays Howard just as good as any center in the league.
Hollins is 7 ft tall too, and Ronny was guarding Shaq succesfully!
I don't agree... DJ is the exact same height and weight as Howard. DJ plays Howard just as good as any center in the league.
If darko is here then we don't need anyone to guard Howard 1 on 1. We will have 4 guys to give 6 fouls each. Have fun at the free throw line Dwight!!!
Not like Ronny and Darko play bad defense!
Signing Darko would make it so that we wouldn't lose anything whenever DJ sits out, whether it be poor play or foul trouble. Darko is a very good defender in the low post and I hope we can look to him to be an enforcer for us along with Turiaf. I really really hope we get him.
Darko would be a great addition.Didn't think many people would be against it.Just to refresh some memories Darko embarrassed DJ when Clippers played the Wolves. He dropped 22 points on DJ(a guy coming off the bench who had a season average of 4.6 points easily dropped 22 points on our starting center).I wouldn't be surprised if Milicic starts after a while. Not trying to say DJ isn't good but if Darko is motivated he can be a very good player and after getting amnestied I think he will be motivated.I really hope the Clippers make it happen.
Actually in the 9 head to head match ups between Darko and DJ, Darko wins in the Pts category slightly, but DJ wins by a landslide in the rebounding department....5-4 in favor of Darko. He'd be a good addition to the team.

LOL!!!
If he's not a jackass like the time he did the interview and said he'd r*** the ref's mother, wife and daughter than I'll be more than welcome to the idea of him here!

who has DJ ever shut down?? plus it gives us more bodies to throw in there. So if DJ gets in foul trouble, we have another body to throw at them.
With 4 centers on the roster we can always rotate another guy in when the others get into foul trouble. I'm not sure how foul prone Darko and Hollins are but its a very real possibility that when DJ and Ronnie are on the court that their foul count will be higher than average.
Another plus to having four centers is probably only two will get minutes which will keep the guys playing knowing they could be benched if they don't produce.
I'm not worried about the Lakers last time they had this stacked of a lineup with Payton and Malone their season didn't end well.

Um, I'm very worried about the Lakers. If it all fits together for them, it is a record setting type year.
Fortunately, the odds of it all fitting and working may not be good. They have old players, they have a center with a bad back, the have a super-superstar with a huge ego. They have no bench. The coach may not be a top tier guy.
A couple injuries, some bad coaching, a petulant acting superstar, the bench playing to the level it looks on paper could = a major bust season.
But if it all clicks, that starting five will be devastating.

That's a recipe for an unsuccessful season for a lot of teams, including ours, LOL.
Here's hoping. The basic laws of economics and good managment never seem to catch up to the Lakers. Maybe this is the year. Let's just beat them on the court, with quality/ high charcter guys and a sensible payroll and let the results speak for themselves.
as a player.... no doubt, sign the guy.... as a person.... those press clippings/excerpts are troubling.... ??
Sign Darko and maybe trade DJ to Houston for a few of their young pieces?
But then again Rox already have Asik.
It's quite comical to see how overrated Darko is on here. He sucks. That's why Minnesota got rid of him. Terrible attitude and gives 50% on the floor. Had we not signed Hollins or Turiaf this move would make a little more sense but at this point we'd be overstocked with bad centers.
Quality > Quantity
I thought we wanted to see more of Thompkins? What about Odom? The improvement of Blake/DJ? And Turiaf is supposed to get some minutes too. Darko CANT guard Dwight and we have 6 big men to give fouls if D12 can't be stopped. I don't know why you guys are acting like our Forwards fouled out of every game last year.
What happens if Griffin gets injured? We have Odom and Thompkins.
What happens if DJ gets injured? We have Hollins and Turiaf.
Literally no need for Darko. This team is deep. The only position we're thin at is the 3 with Butler and Hill. If either gets hurt, I don't want to have wasted a roster spot on Darko.
If he's such a stud why hasn't another team given him a chance? Right, that's because he's a bust!
^^^ Dude, nobody's calling him a stud or talking about bringing him in as the starter. We're saying he could provide some solid defensive minutes off the bench. Signing him for the vet's minimum to compete for the back-up center position seems like a pretty low risk proposition.
And if you haven't noticed, there's actually quite a few decent players out there who still haven't been signed. It doesn't mean they all suck. Its a byproduct of the new CBA.
But then again Rox already have Asik.
Darko has never even had a year good as Jordan's last year so we trade the better player for a guy who couldn't produce when he did get time? DJ is a far away from all star caliber but the guy did not have terrible year. If he continues to improve then he will gave a near or actually double double year.

I've seen people suggest trading DJ after acquiring Darko.......
My point is, we have SIX forwards. What happens if we have an injury at the 1 or 3? We'd have to cut a player to make room for a free agent.
There is no room for Darko and he adds nothing to this team.
The idea of trading DJ and relying on Darko now that is a scary thought.
