The Clippers have officially added Rui Hachimura to the roster on a two-year deal worth
$28 million. This move brings some much-needed size and scoring punch to the
forward rotation. It will be interesting to see how he fits into the current system
alongside the existing core. Does this signing make the team a legitimate
contender in the West?

I like it. Not even sure if it's a depth move either. I think he and Ingram can start as a
forward combo
Good deal financially as they still have plenty of room to resign Mathurin if they so
choose

Good signing even though he was inconsistent in the regular season. But in the PO he was
good.
Nice fill to the void created by the departure of Collins without losing LT
flexibility.

How much cap do we have left?

This is an excellent move. Rui has 3 years in a row of shooting over 40% from 3. I hear people
talk about his defense, but I've never really seen him get carved up before. It's
going to be way better than Collins. Rebounding. Wingspan. Strength. I really like
this signing, especially at only $14m a year. We paid almost double to watch JC take
half a season to shoot and get murdered on defense.

If they renounce the rights to Benedict Mathurin, they would have roughly $15 million
plus their room exception of $9 million

Benedict could be useful in a sign and trade for Watson. If I were Denver, this is one
thing I'd look to do. But if they want picks in return, then I say we hang up the
phone.

Ahh yes, a double sign and trade and given how high Denver's payroll is, a cheaper option
like Mathurin may make sense. They would need another salary to balance things out a
bit but only to a certain extent because if you give them too much salary in return,
they are right back to being way over the 1st apron and almost into the 2nd
apron

I think the fact that Mathurin hasn't been signed yet is a sign that the front office
may not value him on this team as much. His offensive production was incredible, so
the fact that we are waiting this long leads me to believe that he is probably one of
the pieces being included in some kind of trade. I'm not against Mathurin being
included in a trade for Watson, but I think the most we should include in a package for
Watson should be Mathurin and a second round. We cannot be so cavalier about our
draft picks anymore. Hopefully, we can get the trade done on a fair
deal.

That's my hope as well. From a Denver standpoint, not sure why they're pinching pennies on
Watson. He had a long stretch during Jokic's absence where he was averaging around
22 ppg. Small to mid market teams need to take full advantage of late 1st and 2nd round
steals and not lose these guys
