Season on the line. Who will be the difference maker? Who will step up?
Clippers vs. Warriors Play-In Game Day 2026-04-15
Clippers Forum » Clippers Game DayHonestly, I am OK to be done with this year.
Kawhi's great quote is ringing louder and louder now that the newness of the trades have worn off.
If Klaw is "done", this team is done.
Kawhi's great quote is ringing louder and louder now that the newness of the trades have worn off.
What quote was that? But definitely want to see how far the guys can take this. It's been an unprecedented season comeback, so why not keep it going for as far as possible? Young guys like Sanders and Miller would be getting invaluable experience at the very least. But yeah one step at a time- first gotta win the play-in vs GS.
Garland the J, now the putback!
Clips triggering easy offensive via good defense. The Klaw on the run, now Garland the wide open FT J. Timeout Warriors! Clips up 12-2
Ugh GS goes on a 10-2 run and the Clipper lead is down to 2. Contested 3's going in what can you do but can't be allowing layups
Garland gambled for the steal, and Santos spins away for an easy layup. Darius now throws it away and Clips get lucky as Curry misses an open 3.
Collins a pair nice forays to the hoop, but goes for the steal and doesn't come up with it, and it's another layup for GS.
That's unfortunate for the Warriors as Curry has to go to the locker room. Didn't seem like he got hurt, but something mustn't be right.
Young Clips Sanders & now Miller call bingo for opposite wings!
Gotta box out Porzingis. Mathurin good fake inside for 2, now drills the bingo!
Good end to the first Q as the Clips up 31-22 after giving up the lead
The Clipper bench, which hasn't been up to par, has given up the lead just like that. Bricks, turnover, missed layups, while unable to get back on D. Just a few many guys too eager to shoot early in the clock instead of running the offense. Then of course unable to get back in transition.
Big 3 by Dunn, cuts it to 1. Now the block by Math on the layup, and DG the corner bingo!
Seems like Curry is just fine. Double whammy there as DJJ gets his 3rd foul on the loose ball battle, and with Clips outta fouls now, GS goes to the line.
Need more sequences like those- steal by DJJ, and Leonard the layup J!
Missed layups without foul called are just killers- that time DG can't convert the drive and GS gets another dunk.
That was big. GS trying to run out again but Dunn intercepts, then Garland to the wide open DJJ... bingo!
Lol tech on Draymond Green as the refs have heard enough
Ouch DJJ twisted his right ankle- gonna shoot the FTs. Thankfully he seems to be moving fine now.
Lol Kawhi gets bumped around like a bowling pin, no call, drives to the hoop and slams it home anyways!
At the half, Clips up 61-53.
That's another key play by Dunn. Kawhi loses the ball, throws his hands up looking for the foul, but Dunn sprints back on D and helps force a turnover when it could've been an easy layup for GS.
That's not very common as one of the refs, Ben Taylor, had to exit the game, and the standby ref Sean Corbin will sub in.
DJJ what a play- strips Curry and then the layup past Green. Now rebound his own miss and puts it back! Clips back up 10.
Uh oh Curry is heating up, and the lead is down to 2 just like that.
Garland comes in and gets his *5th* foul with 2:45 to go in the 3rd. Mathurin- his 4th bingo!
Dray Dray doing Dray Dray things
oh wait... nevermind, I am on a big delay
Not a good finish to the 3rd as the Clipper lead is just 6 going into the 4th. Guys just gotta crash the boards- can't be giving them second chances.
When Mathurin is hitting 3's like that- that's huge for the Clips. JC very sharp too himself- drills another jumper.
Good decision by Miller taking Curry into the post and draws the foul. Make Steph play D.
Ooof- 3 point game as DG misses another layup, and Porkzingus hits the running 3. Gotta respond- good timeout.
Garland the huge floater, and 1!
DG now the rainbow bingo! Clips push it back to 9.
Nervous time as Hortford drills a trio of 3's, cuts it to 2, but Lopez counters with his own center bingo.
Warriors now with another layup, and it's a 1 point game with 2:45 to go. Timeout Clips. It's seatbelt time.
Unbelievble as Hortford drills another 3, and the Clips are down 117-115
Lopez 2 clutch FTs to notch it at 117, 1:51 to go.
Clips have gone cold, and Curry now drains a 3, and it's 120-117 GS, 50 seconds to go. Kawhi just keeps passing the ball, and still hasn't made a bucket in the 4th.
Mathurin a terrible inbounds pass and they call him on the goaltend ugh. DG has fouled out, and the Clipper season now fading fast.
Kawhi coughs it up, and that's gonna be all she wrote. WOW what a shocking, disappointing end to the Clipper season. A year full of comebacks, but ironically loses the lead and the season in the final minutes.
Front office, what you gonna do?!
Thank you David for the hard work you did!
Hoping that I will be entertained for a while after this brutal tax season but unfortunately not so.
Anyway, if they made to the POs, it would have been painful to see them losing brutally against the Thunder.
Onto to next season now.

Man didn't foresee this sudden end to the season, but it was always a possibility when you face a former champion, a team that can get hot quickly and hit a bunch of 3's, and a team that is willing to play defense.
You do wonder if the Clippers would have advanced with Harden and Zu, the answer is yes for several reasons. The ability of Harden to guard bigger players and draw fouls, and of course rebound better. Zu is a legit inside force on both ends plus on the boards. We've seen so many times lately how the Clippers have been burned by second chance points.
But would the team with Harden & Zu been able to beat either OKC or the Spurs? Very unlikely. So it's about the future for the team now, so hopefully the front office is able to figure things out, patch up the shortcomings. Clips have like a 50/50 chance of getting the Indy pick, so that'd be exciting if it falls into their laps.

My pleasure VB- happy to be able to finally modernize the site! Speaking of taxes- sounds like you're an accountant? But yeah I was literally about to efile my return last night and the darn H&R Block software said due to some iterative calculations I'd had to mail in the return. But then the paper return it generated had wrong info still. What a POS! So I had to spend the whole day scrambling but finally able to efile with a FREE online software.
But yeah this Clipper team has serious holes that were exposed, despite the superb season comeback, and those deficiencies were certainly issues the last 2 weeks of the season. So let's see how the FO handles the offseason- lots of room for improvement for sure.
Yes David, I am a CPA and have my own practice after working as an audit manager for a mid size acctg firm for almost ten years. Living the dream of my life being my own boss! It was a stressful time but thought I might get some Funtime in the POs.
Appreciate your hard work and with your words, you picturize the game!

We were definitely a better team with an experienced Harden and Zu. We were basically a team without a proper center - nothing against Lopez but he never dominated the paint and his shooting sucks! Garland and Mathurin didn’t have their heart in the team yet. Konan’s injury hurt us big time.

Hey man, our guys played hard. They just played better. Horford killed us, and they defended Kawhi too well. Double every time and we couldn’t provide enough relief.
Proud of the guys.

this 100%
What a roller coaster of a season this was. The horrible start, releasing CP3, the turnaround, the trades, and finishing above .500. Only to fall apart in the 4th. But I said if that the Warriors were within 6 with 5+ minutes to play, I knew they were going to lose. Didn't expect Kawhi to go cold like he did, but you have to tip your cap to Draymond, that's what he does.
Will be very interesting to see where the organization goes from here. Feels like things need to change.
