Clippers at Grizzlies Game Day 2026-03-07
Clippers Forum » Clippers Game DayClippers getting outhustled here so far, and missing quite a few gimmes's.
Getting outshot too as Grizz keep hitting open 3's, and now another layup leads to another timeout by Ty Lue. Clips down 29-17.
Clippers are buried under an avalanche of 10 3's, mostly wide-open looks as guys fail to stay in front of their men. Trail 41-23 after 1Q.
Clippers trying to make up ground with this small lineup of KL, Math, Garland, Miller & DJJ. Defense looking better.
Tip by by DJJ, now KL on the run, to Jones Jr for the slam. Down to 14- timeout Grizz!
What a pass by Darius Garland - behind the back inside to DJJ for 2 with the clock winding down.
Great effort by Mathurin again after the Garland turnover to challenge the fastbreak, saved 2 points right there
Another stop by the Clips, another dunk- this time by KL. Down to 7!
Rinse and repeat and the Clippers amazingly have tied the game at 55 as DJJ rattles in 2 FTs here.
WOW- it's like the Clippers were just toying with the Grizz in the first Q. Now with the versatile switching defense of the small lineup, the Grizz no longer have any open looks, plus Clips getting a bunch of steals as well.
Clips with an terrific second Q, and now trail by just 1 at the half. Did take the lead but sputtered the final minute and gave it up. Coward doing a good job for the Grizz there as he blocked Miller's fastbreak dunk, then made that tough floater in the lane.
Isaiah Jackson starts the second half over Lopez
Terrible pass by Garland- some sort of lob but Jackson about the get it off the backboard and put it in
Now Garland the aggressive move to the hoop after the behind the back- Clips lead 64-63
Great look by Dunn from deep but misses- Clips just 1 of 10 on 3's. Otherwise they'd be up double digits.
Grizz were getting all the hustle rebounds- it's now the Clippers' turn as Jackson & Jones Jr putting in the extra effort
Jackson doing a solid job- lobs in the 3 footer, should've been an and-1.
What was that? Mathurin drives, gets stopped, and just tosses it outta bounds lol. He's played well though.
OMG Mathurin gets hacked again no call. This lineup is not most effective tonight as they allow the Grizz to keep that one point lead after 3. Jackson is gassed.
Lopez is back to spell Jackson to start the 4th. Garland with a good drive to put the Clips back up 91-90.
Not sure why Darius thinks he needs to help Lopez on that Spencer drive
Lopez a much better start to the 4th vs how he started the game. Nice pass by Garland to Brook for the and-1!
Now Garland heating up, drills the B2B bingo!
Garland lightning quick, showing a myriad of left and right moves
Jackson puts in yet another Garland miss, who had shook 2 defenders badly on the way to the hoop
Garland looks like his minutes restriction has been increased- comes back in with the game on the line here, 5 1/2 to go.
Huge putback again by Jackson! 112-109 Clips
Mathurin that's the second time he saved a layup on the break!
Garland the de-facto playmaker with KL not in there, delivers the perfect bounce pass to Jackson for 2, now drills the bingo!
Isaiah Jackson has done a good job rebounding and making shots in the paint, but he is unable to defend the interior the way Lopez or Niederhauser can. Clips trying to cling on to a 1 point lead with 2:53 to go.
Miller gotta shoot that floater- got stuck and the Mathurin ended up having to heave a 3 that airballed
What a behind the back dribble by Kawhi on the break. 2 FTs and the Clips are back on top by 1. Good job by Jackson to poke it away to start the break.
Jackson now induces the jump ball on the Ty Jerome drive!
Mathurin chases down the Leonard miss, 2 HUGE FTs make it 123-120 Clips, 4.4 seconds to go.
No Dunn for this final defensive stand?
Clippers WIN as the Grizz misses that game-tying 3. Whew! Definitely much tougher than it should've been, but give the Grizz credit as they put forth the energy the entire game. Kawhi lead the way, but Garland was big with the playmaking, drives & some huge 3's in the 4th. Mathurin was really good too chipping in with 21 and 10, as was DJJ with his D and 7 of 8 shooting. How about Isaiah Jackson? What a job with 12 and 12 in 25 active minutes for the big fella.
Video highlights:
It was nice to see real basketball instead of jacking up threes. Can Isaiah play 4 and Lopez play 5?
