Brand New Site Update!

Hey guys welcome to the new Clippers News Surge! I've been working, for the past few months, on overhauling/modernizing the site's UI and many backend features. I hope you like the new look- if not I'm open to suggestions. After all, this is a site built with you guys in mind- there's Clippers NewSurge without you.

I've tried hard to fix hundreds of issues that came up during the revamp, but I'm sure there are still a few bugs to be discovered. If you see anything wrong either with something not working or some things looking odd or out of place, please let me know (reply on this thread or PM me).

The only glitch is that I keep getting the error message after every post. I realize that the post is going through but the error message could be confusing to people who aren't sure if the post is going through or not

A few hours ago, I tried a lot of things, such as making another post in the expansion thread.

I even tried to make a post in the "brand new site update" thread. That failed too. Then I tried to create a new PM @david That didn't go through either.

Neither did replying to an old PM from @david.

I thought I could submit the post I'm trying to make in the expansion thread in here instead, and have @david move it later. But I can't do that either. Still get the "an error occurred while posting. Please try again later." error.

I have something I've been trying to submit for 2+ hours.

I think it's awesome that you know how to use technology, at that age.

That's what I got when I posted about a "pop up" on #5 in this thread but I didn't get it on my most recent post. Although the most recent post went through and the message was similar to how it was on the previous format where it says "click here to see your message...."

No, I just tried to submit the same post I've been trying since early this morning. I still get an error with it.

And as I mentioned earlier, I even tried PMing you the post, but it wouldn't go through either.

I even replied to the email address that's used to send email notifications for updated threads, with the post I was trying to submit. I'm not sure if that's an inbox you check.

That is odd for sure- I just sent you a test PM. Did you get it? What was the error message (if any) when you sent and it didn't go through?

Just asking, because otherwise, there's not much space in between paragraphs.

And longer posts seem more jumbled, with only one space in between lines.

It could have been my own fault, in how I submitted the post. Maybe I need to have extra newlines in between.

I think what I mean is I see one space between paragraphs, but never more. Even when I try.

I'm someone that usually likes two spaces in between paragraphs.

But that's me, I don't know if that's something you want to allow, because it could mess up other things.

I have a feeling your browser is caching old css files (which control the spacing). Try accessing the site from a prive/incognito browser session and lemme know if it still looks off. Thanks!

Things actually look fine in preview mode. I see the appropriate number of newlines as I expect.

I tried preview mode both for my regular browser session, and private one. Both times, the preview mode shows what I expect.

It's just after submitting, I don't see any additional newlines for the parts of the post where I had multiple newlines in between.

Maybe you can come back to this one later, since I it's still readable. It doesn't look terrible.

And maybe some of these cloudflare errors I get sometimes, or I had another instance of "An error occurred while posting. Please try again." after having some successful posts in that "possible expansion" thread, come back. There's now a new post I'm trying to make, but I keep getting the pink box error.

Your fix from earlier did work, and I was finally able to submit that long post I had been trying to since yesterday.

As for the cloudflare error, I'm getting it specifically when I'm trying to edit a post, and just make a few lines bold. Then I try submitting.

I think the update to the post finally went through, so I'll stop trying with that one.

The spacing behavior- I think that' sthe default when dealing with multiple carriage returns, even on the old site I believe. But the editing post after changing to bold etc has just been fixed.

Yeah it's a significant visual change, though most of functionalities should be very similar. But lemme know if there's anything I can do!

Hey guys I've also added a new notifications system. You've probably noticed the bell icon on the menu bar. Also there is now an @username mention that triggers a notification as well in that notification area.
