Get the app and book early. There is a Lee's hotel a block away
That's what I've been saying as well. It all depends on how much you want to pay. I use the spot hero app but park whiz works as well. Your best bet is the Hollywood park casino structure which usually charges around $30
And of course, my go to is the Hawthorne/Lennox lot next to where the shuttle picks you up. You save a lot there but have to take a shuttle the rest of the way
In 2024, I parked at
3951 W. Century Blvd.
Inglewood, CA 90303 in the garage.
It was $17.49 using ParkWhiz.

Yeah but you're a cheap bas*ard my friend

You get a card for riding at the kiosk outside the station. Take two cards because it is tempermental. BJs sucks. If you go to Westfield try BB Kings or the Indian restaurant near Pavillions a block or so away. You can park in the Pavillion's parking lot. The steak house across from the Mall is good. The Lee hotel is $30 I THINK and across the street from the Dome. Get that one

I used to eat cheerios with tap water because we couldn't afford milk so I can be excused for being cheap lol. But not really because apparently, my spot hero app is charging me $30 for the same lot that costs Nuraman $18 so if anything, I'm throwing my money away
BJ's does NOT suck but I guess I'm a simple down to earth dude so I guess if I were a high roller it would suck. Hell, I'm perfectly fine with Applebees and Campos on 20th and Pico but again, when you grow up with water in your cheerios, anything is good
Trust me, I've been riding metro trains since they started in 1990 in LA. I've been to every station on the grid and am counting the days until the purple line extends to La Brea, Fairfax and La Cienega and then Century City a year later and then finally Westwood in 2028. If you want me to trash Intuit Dome, my biggest complaint is that it's not closer to an actual metro station. We could've done away with the short range shuttles in that case
Can you see what ParkWhiz is charging now? Because my quote was from 2024.
I don't know if that was the rate for a game that day, and if it could change on other days. Or if's changed in 2026.
BJ's is not cheap either.
Trying to go to a steakhouse before a game seems like trying to do too much. I don't want to rush a streakhouse and think about going to a game afterwards.
If you can do a steakhouse after a game, that seems more relaxing.

True. The issue is that so many of these places are closed by the time the game ends. BJ's happens to be the closest place that is actually open past 11pm
Agree. I often go to BJs after concerts, because they're one of the few options that are open. And the food there is better than the food at most venues.
Even if I get in a few minutes before midnight, their kitchen is still open and they are still open for last call too.

This is true. The two places next door, Lucille's BBQ and Olive Garden, are done for the night around 10pm

Oops Senior moment Parking at Office Depot/ Shakeys not Pavillions. I think you can park late Bev Mo closes at 10. When I was there BJ's didn't have coffee. If you trashed Intuit Dome we would have nothing to argue about BORING!
If you think I'm a high roller, you got it real wrong. I have friends in rural Idaho who don't have running water. When I grew up half my friends were rich. A buddy was the governor of Indiana and half were po'. meaning that they couldn't afford the "or". A lot went "on vacation like 10 to 20 years. My cousin made the news for getting pregnant and delivering while in prison for armed robbery. High rollers are as* holes. Everybody thinks poor southern rural whites are racists BULL SH*T. Dad has GOOD FRIENDS from rural Kentucky they were moon shiners and I got sh*t faced on white lightning several times. Part of my family is from the rural south. I've eaten hog head, pig snout, pig ears, pig tails, pig intestines and hog fries. You take a male hog and remove the hanging parts and fry them, Eat them if only if you're drunk

I do notice that. Racism in the deep south is overblown whereas it seems to rear it's ugly head more in the great lakes region or at least from what I observe. I have a black friend who is well off and tries to compensate for his well being by making up stuff that doesn't really exist just so he can sound less privileged. Mommy and Daddy bought him his house so he has this internal guilt conscience thing going on. Anyways, his son is a 2 star high school basketball recruit from Chino Hills. Basically hoping to get a scholarship to places like Cal Baptist or Cal Poly Pomona. He could get a scholarship from an HBCU but daddy is playing the race card and saying he'd worry about his son being lynched and what not. I just shake my head
The majority of white people are killed by other white people
The majority of Latinos are killed by other Latinos
Ditto for Asians
And according to the late John Singleton, 93% of black males are killed by other black males. My friend's son has a much better chance at being killed by another black in the south than he does of being lynched by some redneck

@trueblood " spot on. Racism in the deep south gets overblown in the media, while the Great Lakes / Midwest region seems to have its own flavor of it that flies under the radar more often. Your friend’s story with his son is a perfect example of how some people weaponize race out of guilt or fear when the actual risk is way lower than the narrative suggests. 93% of Black males killed by other Black males (per John Singleton) is a brutal stat, and the “lynching by redneck” fear is more myth than reality in 2026. Proximity is the real driver of most violence, not some grand regional conspiracy.
Racism absolutely exists and was far worse in the past " no denying that. The fact that a man of color could become a surgeon back when the barriers were so much higher says a lot about resilience and talent overcoming real systemic ****. That’s impressive as hell.
At the same time, a lot of the country (especially rural areas with very little exposure to other races and cultures) is still kinda naive or clumsy around it. Doesn’t always mean they’re hateful (not that the hateful ones don’t exist) sometimes it’s just lack of experience. Most people, deep down, have a few dumb stereotypes floating around in their heads, but the vast majority are trying to be decent human beings and judge people as individuals. That’s what actually moves the needle.
The constant over-the-top “everything is racism” takes just drown out the real conversations. Judge the individual, not the narrative. Simple as that.
Good post, trueblood.

100%. Thanks and great post as well. Like you said, I like to think that the good in this country far outweighs the bad but the media sure does like to make us think it's the opposite
Oh yeah, I don't doubt it at all but like you said, that was the end of Jim Crow. There is definitely racism still but it's not like it was. I grew up in the liberal bay area in the 70's and had to ask my stepmom if honky was my real name. I like to think that white kids nowadays don't have to ask that same question as "honky" is pretty outdated. But like you said and I said as well, I think of Indy as great lakes region along with Michigan and Ohio and racism there sort of goes under the bridge whereas the deep south NOWADAYS, is blown out of proportion. It's certainly different than when your dad and uncle were there
Please no politics. We agree to disagree. Any further discussion on PM plz
double post
FWIW, I found that the easiest and most affordable option is to park at the Hawthorne/Lennox station parking lot and take the shuttle. There's always one shuttle waiting for you and the ride itself is never more than 10 minutes
