Clippers at Rockets Game Day 2026-02-10

Clippers Forum » Clippers Game Day

Please post your predictions for the game coming up versus the Rockets. What must the Clippers do earn a W? Who on the Rockets should Clips focus the D on? Will the game be very high-scoring or a slower-paced game? Which match-ups are you looking forward to seeing?

Reinforcements are coming in…Mathurin and Jackson are in but Garland is out until after All star game.

Hope the flow and chemistry is not messed up…especially Sanders and Miller play.

Too many moving variables... I think we lose this one. Kawhi is going to have to continue to play super saiyan... not sure dude can sustain it.

Also as much as I hate Alpren Sexist Segun... I think he is going to expose Yanic.

(I hope there are female refs for this game and we get under his skin! Maybe he continues to call the ref a B*TCH and gets tossed.)

Very likely. In a previous post, I mentioned that Kawhi having to score 40+ is not a good thing. He's clearly having to go crazy because Harden is gone and Mathurin and Garland are not on the lineup yet to contribute. Yanic is not going to be exposed per se. Yanic is going to learn that there are levels in the NBA. You can score 15 points one night but get shut down the next because the level of opposition changes with each team. That being said, Yanic is a bright spot on this roster. I'm Yanic's biggest cheerleader. However, he's not going to be Dwight Howard or Shaq. But I'd wager he can be somewhere in between what DJ or Zubac ended up being for us (maybe just a tad below Zubac on the offensive end). We do need Mathurin in the lineup ASAP, though. I know we can't get Garland in until after All-Star break.

I mean dude is the #1 rebounder in the #1 rebounding team... He's old enough to know he has a mismatch, and he'd young and hungry enough to go after it.

He has given us issues even with Zu... so yea, I think Yanic gets exposed... or roasted. Between him and Brook Lopez, I don't have faith in our coaching staff to see the trends of the last few games and prep our bigs for the SEXIST Sengun.

My hail mary is asking the gods for female referees, and the league will be high alert to see if he makes anymore remarks on them and their playcalling.

Los Angeles visits the Houston Rockets after Kawhi Leonard scored 41 points in the Clippers' 115-96 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Rockets are 18-15 against Western Conference opponents. Houston is second in the Western Conference in team defense, allowing only 110.0 points while holding opponents to 45.9% shooting.

The Clippers have gone 15-15 against Western Conference opponents. Los Angeles has a 15-18 record in games decided by 10 or more points.

The Rockets average 11.3 made 3-pointers per game this season, 2.2 fewer makes per game than the Clippers give up (13.5). The Clippers average 12.8 made 3-pointers per game this season, 0.4 more makes per game than the Rockets allow.

The teams square off for the third time this season. In the last meeting on Dec. 24 the Clippers won 128-108 led by 41 points from Leonard, while Kevin Durant scored 22 points for the Rockets.

TOP PERFORMERS: Alperen Sengun is averaging 20.8 points, 9.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists for the Rockets. Durant is averaging 23.5 points over the last 10 games.

Leonard is scoring 28.0 points per game with 6.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists for the Clippers. John Collins is averaging 17.0 points and 5.2 rebounds while shooting 62.3% over the past 10 games.

LAST 10 GAMES:

-Rockets: 6-4, averaging 107.7 points, 47.9 rebounds, 24.8 assists, 10.9 steals and 6.4 blocks per game while shooting 44.1% from the field. Their opponents have averaged 107.8 points per game.

-Clippers: 6-4, averaging 112.2 points, 42.7 rebounds, 23.9 assists, 7.2 steals and 3.8 blocks per game while shooting 50.2% from the field. Their opponents have averaged 110.8 points.

Also we have Rockets BAC-to-BACK...

It bodes well for us to win the first if we are going to split the pair (don't think Kawhi will play second leg).

Dunn the steal and slam, now Collins the little J inside to knot things up at 6

Thought Senguin was injured? Quick recovery or something as he's playing.

Ugh that was painful- like 4 offensive rebounds in one possession by the Rockets and eventually KD hits the 3.

Oops it's Sengun replacing SGA actually for the All Star Team.

Collins very energetic to start the game- slams that KL miss home

Mathurin makes his Clipper debut coming in for Dunn. Gets an assist right away as he crosscourts it to DJJ for the bingo.

Collins finally gets a call as he goes on the attack again

Collins goes right at KD and lobs it in! Clips take the lead 20-19

Mathurin says finally as he hits his first bucket- a reverse on the baseline drive

Math misses another J, but gets the steal and dishes to Miller for the bingo

Clips trail 27-26 after 1. Defense is solid but guys gotta start hitting some 3's

Houston very good at blocking shots, so Clippers gotta take and make the midrange

Ouch- Dunn another steal, but threw it away the first time and now dunks it against the rim. 4 point switch right there.

But the Clips bounce right back as Lopez and now DJJ hit 3's. Dunn ANOTHER steal, but this time he got a bit tentative, probably passed it to DJJ too early and the ball looks like it's stripped clean and off of Derrick.

Clipper D doing a good job- so many deflections

Lopez gives Sengun a taste of his own meds- drop step spin and dunk!

Mathurin has struggled shooting but has looked dynamic and made some nice passes

Clippers claw and battle to earn a 1 point lead at the half, 52-51

Yikes... Kriss Dunn drinks Sprite? Lmao!

It's all good. The Dungeon is all over the court tonight. We could use a real table setter, but I LOVE our defense right now.

Kawhi keeps getting hacked, finally gets a call on that little J and 1

That was some defense by Jones Jr, induces the airball by Eason

Thompson climbs Dunn's back- uses it in fact to lift off to dunk home the miss. That's not a foul anymore?

Lopez denies KD's dunk. Refs called it a foul but Clips challenged and it was successful

The Dunngeon- I like that lol! He's trying his best to lock up whoever he's guarding.

Much needed 3 by the Clippers as Miller drills it- cuts it to 2

Clips now trail 78-72 at the end of 3 as points are hard to come by

Clips a poor start to the 4th with turnover and misses, now trail by 13

We look awful right now, but it's not over till it's over...

Reed Shepherd hurting the Clips on both ends ugh

Clips can't get anything to go, until that Mathurin and 1 reverse. Cuts it to 12. Now or never.

That would've been a top highlight for sure as Kawhi made Eason fall with a multitude of moves.

Ty Lue seemingly waves the white flag as he brings in new Clipper Isaiah Jackson who gets a bucket right away inside. Ty Ty Washington, Banton and Christie also in.

These guys have cut it to 9 with 3:34 left!

Who is Blanton?

Mathurin driving layup, down to 7

Terrible call by the refs as Mathurin had knocked it off of the Rockets, and they say it's Houston ball

Some new names... Expected result. But quite impressed that we forced Durant to play the whole game.

Clippers fall as guys were atrocious from deep- going 8 of 30, while Houston hit 14 of 28. Not to mention 8 missed FTs in a game you lose by 7 points.

Good effort though on defense and rebounding, but gotta hit some shots tomorrow vs the Rockets to earn a split.

Liking the small sample of BMath

He used to play for the Raptors. I'm not sure what happened. Maybe his shot never came around. I thought he was decent.

He seemed promising, but he ended up moving over to Portland. Same thing, caught in limbo.

Hard to get PT with the Blazers competing with Scoot, Jrue, and Caleb Love (Bear Down).

I'm pretty sure he's the largest Point Guard in the NBA besides Cade...

Not a great athlete, but he's another versatile, switchable defender... and he does everything.

I'd like him to make our team as the 3rd PG.

I bet it takes Math (Bear Down) a minute to get his bearings. His shot looks broke, not like he was during the Finals.

At least we have a little time to get him rolling. I'd like to see him get to the rim some more though.

I expected a loss. I didn't expect it to be this close. Mathurin had on off shooting night. This team will get better as they play more games together.

Got home after the game, saw the highlights. We seemed to have a problem stopping sengun or is that wrong.
