Clippers vs. Lakers Game Day 2026-01-22

Clippers Forum » Clippers Game Day

How will the Clippers do in the upcoming contest vs. the Lakers? The guys must do what well to get the victory? Which opposing player(s) should Clips be wary of? Will the game be very high-scoring or a slower-paced game? Who will step up?

KL2 upgraded to maybe - lol

I was hoping that the whole reason he took the earlier games off was because he wanted to be sure to play tonight. Is this a legit injury that he's dealing with?

KL IS playing tonight.

Welcome back Kawhi- bingo, midrange J, bingo!

Sanders the wide open corner bingo, assist Harden. Now the exact same play same result!

Now Miller and Harden with nifty moves in the paint, Clips up 31-24

Man, this Miller guy’s footwork is amazing. He nicely creates a shot for himself and to others. He has a lot of potential if coached right.

Lakers go zone, but Harden with the perfect lob to the cutting Collins for the slam!

They still don't respect Sanders, and he drills another bingo!

So far Kobe Sanders is 3 out 3 from outside the arc…a tribute to Kobe Bryant on the day he scored 81! Hope he stays reasonably hot on shooting

Lopez 2 rarish post shots inside!

Leonard the hesitation scoop!

He's not hesitating with those which is great to see- launching with confidence

Lopez the bingo from 28 feet away!

Kawhi looking really good- easiy shakes Hachimura for the mini J in the paint

Good strips by Harden and now Batum, Collins the nice J. Now big Zu intimidates, then smashes in Harden's miss!

Sanders making many good non-scoring plays

That was funny- Zu is like I've seen this movie before so he doesn't even step out to challenge the Luka 3, and it worked as the shot missed.

Dunn, steal, slaaaaaaaamm dunk!

Cips up 64-47 at the half on the heels of excellent defense leading to good shots on offense.

The best thing is that we are not seeing that nonsense of that swarm of L-Word cheerleaders like the way we used to see at the Crypt.

Several layup jumpers by Kawhi, and now Collins to Zu for the slam! Clippers are cruising up 25

Don’t take the foot off the gas pedal…Doncic is dangerous!

It is annoying to see stupid TOs by Harden. That guy is putting lot of minutes and is getting tired.

Turnovers and misses and now the lead is down to 15

Sanders a big time J after Lakers had cut it to 14

Lazy pass by Harden results in another turnover, and the Clippers finish the third Q poorly, but still lead by 14 going into the 4th.

Giant bingo by Miller, had just made a tough banker in the lane a little earlier

Lakers have turned up the defense as the Clippers stopped moving the ball- lead is down to 5

Zu and Vanderbilt getting into it here

Clips able to ward off the Lakers charge- FTs by Zu pushes it back to 9. Ty Lue challenging this call as refs say Marcus Smart was fouled on the putback try. Replay shows Smart climbed over Miller, so that should be over the back instead.

Challenge successful- and Miller shoots 2 as Lakers are outta fouls, 3:29 to go.

Good hustle by Collins to rebound the Miller miss, hits both FTs.

You'd think Clippers would be experts at other teams trapping Harden now, but not so. Ty Lue sensed trouble there and called a timeout. Basically they just push Harden to the midcourt corner and try to force him to make a risky pass with no other Clipper really not that close by.

Wow…Harden strolled aimlessly for 2 possessions and Ty did not take a timeout. The LAL scored 4 points and cut it to 6!

Kawhi in with 2:12 to go, Clips up just 6. Turns the ball over though

Zu has been big on the boards- able to draw the foul. Drills 2 huge FTs to push it to back to 6

With Harden & KL being decoys, Dunn to Zu for the reverse jam!

A dagger by Collins!!!!

Now Leonard to Colins from the corner- bingooooooooo! That's game!

Game ball goes to big Zu- 15 points and *19* rebounds. 4-4 FTs and just 1 turnover. Way to battle inside because the Lakers have good bigs in Ayton and Hayes.

Sanders, Lopez & Miller provided key support scoring and on D. Same goes for JC who made that huge bingo that quelled the Laker uprising.

Kawhi was big in his return, and Harden, despite 7 turnovers and poor shooting, did a good job down the stretch to help close things out.

Notable contributions from pretty much all of the Clippers who took the floor today. Also, the efficiency on the FTs was the key in bringing us home.

Miller has earned the privilege of being on the floor in the most crucial time. That guy earned with his hard work.

Even a win of a meaningless game is sweet against the L-Word team!

Lmao, you're not kidding....

Harden and Kawhi looked like teams running a second guy at the ball hadn't happened yet this season.

It needs to be figured out.

It looks like everyone else on the team knows how and where to flash when they see the double, LOL.

Highlights:

Not impressed with our coach.

I finally saw the team go into some sets and things went well. Then they didn't and it didn't go well.

Do they even watch film? It is so painfully obvious.

This is why EVERY pick matters. It bugs me when people dismiss draft picks. Miller was a second round pick, as was Kobe Sanders. The organization foolishly dealt away 5 picks for PG, but at least they have had the intuition to buy second rounders, which has paid off. Miller, Sanders, and Niederhauser may never be all stars, but if they can develop to into solid role players that is a huge win.

Exactly. Imagine if Denver's ownership decided to sell off their 2014 2nd round pick for a cool million or something. I'm guessing the return they've gotten from the guy they actually selected that year is a heck of a lot more than a million

It's always a great day when the evil empire loses. Great job, Clippers!
