Clippers at Warriors Game Day 2025-10-28

Clippers Forum » Clippers Game Day

Please post your predictions for the game against the Warriors. The guys must do what well to get the victory? Which opposing player(s) should Los Angeles be wary of? Will the game be bombs away by both teams or a slower-paced game? Who will step up?

I think (hope) Clippers win. But I will be watching the Dodgers game and sleeping. Maybe play this in the background in the living room.

Yeah unfortunately Dodgers lost- but hopefully Clippers can get a big W here vs GS. Not looking good so far down 20-10.

Look at GS cry and go berserk about the refs calling a foul for Post not letting Harden land after his 3.

That's really surprising they overturned the call as Post was all over Harden and didn't give him space to land.

GS keeps hitting 3's and the Clippers are unable to. Not able to make many 2's either. Now down 27-12.

Harden the harm and 1- cuts it to 30-20. Now the driving layup past Hortford!

Nice finish to the first Q after 3 more FTs by the Beard. Clips down 33-25 after that buzzer beater 3 by Podziemski. Harden seems pretty into it, so that's a good sign.

Zu the rebound, the putback! Tied at 44 as the defense is clamping down and Harden is in command, making good decisions on offense.

Good move by Dunn along the baseline!

Harden from 28 feet- yes!

Clippers LEAD 49-46 at the half after going down 15 in the first. Terrific second quarter as the guys did most of the damage with the lineup of JH, Dunn, DJJ, Zu, and Batum.

The Klaw nice drive and stop, shakes 2 defenders and makes the easy floater

Clips in a dry spell here and not able to get back on D after misses- down 3 now. Good timeout by Ty Lue.

Clippers now have trouble getting the ball to Zu. Need to run some backdoor plays to counter.

Chris Paul & Dunn in for Harden & Batum. That time KL a nice job dishing to Zu

Zu gotta take that- they're playing him to pass when he flashes into the paint

Nightmarish 3rd Q for the Clips- nothing falling while the Warriors are hitting 3's. Clips now just 5 of 27 from deep, down 78-63 going into the 4th.

Game is pretty much over as guys can't stay in front of their own

Clippers can't even crack 80 as they fall 98-79, vs a GS team that's on the second of their B2B. As usual it's live by the 3, die by the 3 for the Clips. Tonight it was an atrocious 8 of 33 (18%) from distance.

Just 10 assists as well- only player with more than 1 was Chris Paul who had 2. That's pretty sad- don't remember a Clipper team that only had 10 assists in one game. Clips definitely missing Norman Powell's dynamic scoring- he's currently averaging 24 points on 50% shooting from deep for the Heat.

Absolutely no reason to live and die by the 3. This team has size with two 7 footers sharing minutes at the 5 and a legitimate 4 man in Collins who should be starting. Otherwise, what was the point of trading Norman Powell, who was one of our best players last year. I thought it was to get bigger and not have to depend on perimeter shooting as much. With Collins on the bench and the starters chucking 3's, it makes you wonder why they brought in JC

Very true, though their feeds to Zu inside have been picked off too often, and the floaters (by everyone) haven't fallen at a good enough rate. The team definitely is missing Norman Powell- an elite 3 point shooter, scorer and competitor. Instead of the ball going to a guy like Powell after Harden & Leonard are doubled, it goes to Dunn, DJJ, Batum, etc. They're capable shooters but if they're off then you're in trouble. Beal is supposed to pickup up a lot of Powell's scoring load, but it seems like he may have issues staying healthy.

Perhaps the front office missed the point, which I thought was to win now? Sounds like they're tip-toeing into doing well short term and wanting to build for the long term.

John Collins has looked pretty good, though he doesn't seem like a solid scoring option yet. I do see the rationale of starting DJJ over him for matchups, but yeah for some matchups not try JC over DJJ and see if that helps. But Beal probably wants to start too when he comes back from injury, so we'll see.

This team's biggest weakness continues to be speed, and it's not a new problem, but it's more evident this season.

Many teams in the league play a fast-paced, cutting, three-point-shooting, and high-pressure style of basketball. This team can't play that way because they lack the necessary speed.

Yesterday I watched part of the Warriors-Bucks game. The Bucks aren't better than the Clippers, but they are more intense on defense and seem tireless, while the Clippers arrive at the fourth quarter exhausted, especially when the pace of the game is high. The Bucks found the Warriors' weak point: Horford! If I remember correctly, the last 10 points were all scored on him. This reminded me of what they did with Zu and Lopez. The Bucks did something simple: they put Portis at center. He's not very tall, but quick enough to get to the perimeter, and a good three-point shooter.

My thinking, while Beal is out, is that you can't play Bogdan; it has to be Dunn, because Bogdan is a liability on defense and slow in transition. Collins also has to be there; he's the most natural power forward on the team:

  • Zu

  • Collins

  • Leonardo

  • Dunn

  • Harden

If the team is that slow with as small a starting lineup that we have then that's a problem. Let's hope it gets fixed
