Clippers Forum » Clippers Game Day

Please post your predictions for the upcoming contest vs. the Los Angeles Lakers. What are the Clippers keys to get a W? Who on the Lakers should L.A. be wary of? Will the game be first to 115 points or defensively-oriented? Go Clips!

Norman Powell returns!

Ugh- 4 turnovers in 3 1/2 minutes, and the Clips are down 13-4 after Doncic drains another 3

Dunn with his 3rd foul with 6 minutes in the first quarter- Coffey is in.

Harden instead of giving it Zu inside who was being guarded by Doncic, chooses to chuck a 3 over Hayes- airball

Powell hasn't hit a shot yet but he has brought that quickness the Clippers have lacked

Ugh- Powell now dealing with hamstring soreness and won't be returning

Batum drills the corner bingo, and the Clippers have cut it to 2

The Klaw making a showing- drills 2 more jumpers after a 4 point play. But Bogdanovic misses a pair of easy ones in the paint...

Bogdanovic now dribbles to the corner for an ill-advised 3 over Hayes, and now misses an open one. Jordan Miller, who just signed a new 4 year contract, is in for him now. So is Kobe Brown.

Lol Harden passes to Lebron James who was about to come into the game, which is another turnover for the Clips.

Not good that Norman came back and then got hurt. This team is nowhere near as efficient when he's out.

Clippers in trouble now they are getting blitzed by not getting back on D after turnovers and misses

we suck period , long live lob city !!!!

Clipper offense now devolving into chucking tough 3's. 10 straight misses, 0 FT in this stretch.

That was a terrible end to the half. Couldn't make a shot to save their lives.

Wow Zubac gets a touch? Reverse dunk but Clips still down 16.

Bogdanovic misses another open corner 3, Doncic cans another, and it's a 17 point deficit.

Bogdanovic has been a massive disappointment.

Dunn trying to infuse some energy into the Clippers- bingo from the corner, and now driving layup after the stop.

Oh now he wants to hit his 3's when the game is out of hand.

That's a good sign- Bogdanovic 2 3's in a row, but the Doncic and the Lakers offense are humming along. Clips down 20.

Clippers finally show some life at the end of the 3rd. Down 12 at the end of the 3rd. First few minutes of the 4th will be critical.

Clippers a little burst here to to end the 3rd to slice it to 12. Gonna need Harden to get hot in the 4th to have a chance.

Kawhi at this point shouldn't be shooting the techs....

Dunn strips James, now scoops it in on the other end!

Kawhi had Dunn wide open for the 3 but insisted on a tough J which bricked

And 1 from Kawhi cuts it to 7.

Kawhi good choice going to the hoop vs settling

Now Zu the hook over James- and it's a 5 point game!

Zu! 5 point game.

Can't get a rebound.

That was a push-off by Doncic. Refs don't call it and instead he gets 3 FTs.

Bogdanovic in for Coffey who didn't even have a FG attempt this game

If Harden is not going to hit that open 3 the Clippers aren't going to win.

Dunn getting the Westbrook treatment.... spacing killer.... hard to get Kawhi and Zu the ball like this....

Clippers with a glimmer of hope- 3's by Bogdanovic & Leonard cuts it to 5 with 1:40

If Dunn had made just one of those 3 3's...

Dunn the steal and the layup! Bang bang play is being reviewed if Lebron blocked it or it was a goaltend.

They say it's a block but if that wasn't called, that was a layup by Kawhi smh. Just like last game.

Nope, not going to happen. If only Kawhi showed up on Friday, they might've won. Going 7 minutes without scoring lost them the game. Can't happen.

You're not lyin'.... HUGE KILLER.... also, the G-League guys gave us absolutely nothing because they've been on assignment all year instead of getting reps.

Our chemistry is the worst I've seen in a long time. We can barely run a halfcourt set without something going off the rails.

The LWord are like a better version of the old Pels and Grizz... just a big team, and we don't match up with their size.

They're the newest huge team we can't beat, only they have star power and really good role players.

Another frustrating game for the Clippers. Simply not enough firepower. You knew that scoring was going to be an issue going into this season, but guys were able to come up with big wins with defense, hustle, and clutch buckets by Powell & Harden. Tonight offensive rebounds given up were a killer, plus another poor shooting game from deep by Harden. He was unable to get good looks with the mobile, long defenders Lakers put on him. And when he did have open looks he didn't hit many. Zubac with just 9 shot attempts is unacceptable.

With Powell out now who knows how long with a hammy issue, it's going to be really tough. Guys like Coffey needs to be more aggressive to help shoulder the scoring load. And Bogdanovic's shooting gotta be better. 4/11 at least is solid, so hopefully it's trending in the right direction.

Highlights from the game:

Norm is re-injured, Harden is beyond gassed, and it looks like all of our trade deadline-buyout moves are total and complete busts. Kawhi looking like the old Kawhi was the only positive last night. I don't know fellas. Are we still in "win now" mode with an aging injury prone core? My new theory is this, might be time to move on from Harden in the off season. He's been great for us and carried us a ton early in the season, but the slowed down-walk the ball up-dribble the shot clock out-hold on to the ball offense only benefits him, Norm, and Zu. There's no easy buckets, no fast breaks, no pace, no tempo.. a little bit of chaos even helps a little bit. Right now its just a slog of a grind. We can't even develop or gauge the progress or lack there of with the youth because its hard for them to show anything in "The System" offense. Mann couldn't play in it either. Houston Harden was twice as fast, crazy first step, pushed the pace, and still put up 30-40 a night. Kai Jones being waived but Eubanks staying is the prime example of this. Not saying Kai Jones had next, but Eubanks is a safe player who looks serviceable under Harden's system, but yet doesn't move the needle one bit for the team. Some might even say he's a bad player. Kai was definitely better than Eubanks and that's not saying much at all, but if we're going to just stay competitive until more money frees up or we get our picks back, go get a young uptempo point guard. A guard that pushes the pace, makes the extra pass, can hit the open three, and get other involved. Then I can see if Kobe, Miller,....

Miller & Kobe got a few minutes in last night but Harden just held/dribbled the ball the entire time and that was it.

Simmons is now supposedly day to day. Buyout players generally suck, lets move on from this Lawrence Frank. Bogdan is awful. Eubanks and Patty Mills are washed/not good. Beauchamp, who I thought had something to his game, waived. So we traded KPJ, Mann, and Bones for what exactly? Never seen every trade deadline move fall flat on its azz like this. The front office is cooked beyond belief. Everybody ripping Nico Harrison, but Lawrence Frank is right behind him. No direction, no plan, just throwing sh*t against the wall and praying something sticks. If we're going to be a play in team, get a point guard and start running up and down the floor. At worst its an entertaining team to watch.

Hit the nails on the head. Not sure what to do at this point but just hit on whatever draft picks that they DON'T owe to OKC or Philly because every time they trade, it just makes things worse
