Clippers at Los Angeles Lakers Game Day 2025-02-28

Clippers Forum » Clippers Game Day

How will the Clippers do in the game against the Los Angeles Lakers? The guys must do what well to get the W? Which Lakers player should the Clippers focus on- Doncic or James? Which match-ups are you looking forward to seeing? Will Norman Powell & Kawhi Leonard play?

Clippers with a nice start up 17-7. Kawhi nailing some open 3's, and guys like Zu and now Harden the floater in the paint.

Dunn doing his part- corner bingo cuts it to 5. Clips down 59-54 at the half.

Zu with only 5 shots- made them all but needs to be fed more.

Dunn, despite 4 fouls, still playing good D. Another deflection leads to another steal, and now Kawhi and 1! Clippers can take the lead here.

Harden needs to stop with the 1v1 vs a tough defender on him ugh

Simply way too many offensive rebounds given up

Clippers want to shoot so many 3's but just can't make a decent percentage

Lol Zu going for the tombstone slam there

Zu all day inside!

That's not a reckless closeout on Doncic? That's the 4th FT Kawhi has missed- ouch.

This KL and JH era will not take us anywhere. We will just be treading water unless acquire a young energetic star player. The FO has made a huge mistake in signing KL to that huge contract.

Careless TOs and crucial missed FTs are killing us! Ty is not putting a solid defense player on LBJ and he is killing us.

Awful noncall- Vincent kicks the ball and gets the layup smh

Dunn a heady play to steal the jump ball but dribbles it outta bounds...

Harden loses the ball again, and the Clippers are in trouble down 104-98 with 2:13 left

Harden is showing the age again. Just bonehead plays... one after another. I think that's the difference tonight.

What kind of defense was that? Let the dunker just slam it.

That's off of Doncic- Clippers have a glimmer of hope.

I appreciate these guys not willing to go down without a fight. Don't shovel that dirt on us just yet... happy1

Kawhi clanks a wide open 3, and that might be all she wrote. Awful 3 point shooting by the team overall, and all those turnovers were killers as well.

That looked like a clean strip by Kawhi- that's Clipper ball. If that wasn't called, that was going to be a layup. These refs man.

One of the biggest mistake the FO did this year was to trade away KPJ to Bucks. We were starving for young players and they did the opposite in trading away that young energetic guy who was ok in handling the ball and relieving JH. Soon, JH will have no juice because of the number of minutes he is putting up.

If the team doesn’t go deeper in the playoffs, we need clean up the FO, coaches and most importantly the players.

Clippers suffer yet another tough loss. The bench laid an egg tonight- Coffey & Bogdanovic just 3 for 15. Harden just 5 of 22, 1 of 10 from deep, and 6 turnovers. Kawhi was solid but missed 4 out of 6 FTs. Dunn & Zu with terrific performances gone to waste.

Yeah I was surprised KPJ was traded as he did a nice job overall, and his defense and rebounding were surprisingly good. He was a key part of the Clipper success this season. Harden is playing too many minutes now for sure. He's a warrior and will keep trotting out there, but his consistency is going down at this point.

Ugh !!! Feels like we’re having a rerun of last year. Played pretty decently going into the break, then we come out of the break and the wheels fall completely off. 🤷‍♂️

Agreed, but they replaced KPJ with Ben Simmons. The problem is Simmons is not a threat from the outside and its killing the 2nd unit along with Bogdan and Coffey playing like sh*t. They let Moussa Diabate walk but yet they didn't/don't believe in Mo Bamba, Eubanks, and Kai Jones so we don't really have a back up big. For things to work, Bogdan had to be better than Mann and Simmons better than KPJ, but unfortunately they're not. Kawhi and Harden are becoming more and more cooked after each passing game. Its unbelievable that we got old and slow all over again after the trade deadline. Lue refuses to play youngsters with the vets so here we are. Only bright spots are Norm and Zu who in imo the team should build around. Sick and tired of L. Frank and Lue's philosophy-way of going about things. I won't even give a sh*t if we drop into the play in tournament or don't even make the playoffs all together.

All valid points but trading away and replacing KPJ with Simmons is fixing a non-existent problem. I thought the FO learnt its mistakes of loading with older players but apparently not.

KPJ was jelling with the 2nd unit and used to play physical and his defense was good too. Bamba was productive as well but they paid heavy price to get under the apron thing so that we can be in the buy out market. But history will tell that pretty much all star players that we got in the buyout market didn’t have any meaningful impact…barring one or two. We need at least 15-20 games for a player to get familiar with the team and when it is towards the end of the season, it is even more critical.

Now, the team HAS to rebuild and no chance of getting any better with retooling. This is because of the old guys - JH and KL - at the helm and trust me they won’t take us anywhere. JH might show his flashes of brilliance once in a while but his lack of energy and laziness is showing up. KL doesn’t look like a star anymore! The 2nd unit is not showing up more often than not.

When your stars no longer have the athleticism they used to have, there will only be flashes in their game that remind us of what they once were. If you still want to keep them, the only thing you can do is surround them with players who are athletic, good defenders and shooters.

KPJ was good for the team because of the energy he projected, he filled a need, the same with Mo Bamba and Mann. KPJ had something else, he is a dribbler, meaning that when they put high pressure on, he is one of the few who could break the defense, he was not perfect but he was very useful.

Now I see that a simple strategy for the opponents is to put high pressure on Harden and of the others there is no one who can dribble and break the defense in 1 vs 1, except Powell who is not playing due to his injury.

Ty Lu tends to play with veterans, and that is not going to change, when he gives opportunities to the youngsters it is in garbage time.

I'd honestly like to see Trentyn Flowers and "Cam" Christie, at least it would be more fun.
