MLB Playoffs 2021: SP Matters, Except for Tampa Bay.

AL WC: Boston, better offense.

NL WC: St. Louis, better pitching and defense.

The Dodgers have health issues right now. If they can get past the wild card game, I like them more in a longer series.

For a short series, like the 1 game wild card round, there's always a decent chance of a loss.

The Dodgers are the type of veteran team that if they can get 1 win and advance to a full series, then they can show their fortitude.

How about that wildcard game? That was TENSE! Just so unfortunate for Muncy to be injured the last regular season game. Really happy to see 2 guys who were struggling in Bellinger & Taylor come through as they have done many times in the past. The bullpen was incredible as well.

Hopefully Buehler can come through with his A-game in a couple days and forget that last outing he had vs the Giants.

Just seeing these notifications now.

If the wild card was considered tense (and it was), then game 5 of the NLDS was something on another level. Every single pitch mattered.

In the NLCS, the overall pitching was ok, the Braves just rallied in the middle or end of several games to lead.

Mookie Betts had a great series, Trea Turner did not.

Yup Mookie was great, CT3 was terrific, but both Turners were awful. Good to see Bellinger bounce back with a nice playoffs. The Braves really surprised me with their offense- they got some great hitters. I'm rooting for them to beat the cheatin' ASStros.

I've never seen a no hitter from start to finish.

I thought today could have been the day.

Good game by the Braves today.

I've never seen a game with a grand slam in the first, that was tied already by the 3rd, only for the first team to take the lead again.

Congrats to the Braves- their offense once again came through, and pitching held up for the most part. Now it's gonna be an interesting off-season to see who the Dodgers are able to keep and which new guys are signed. Joc Pederson- wouldn't mind him coming back.

Two of the most interesting things were:

  • Jorge Soler won the 2016 and 2021 WS on November 2nd, each time.

  • Dansby Swanson was in Houston when the Falcons lost the SuperBowl. He now has a better memory of winning a title in Houston.

Pederson - is there a starting spot for him on the Dodgers?

Matzek's story is very interesting, with the long gap between MLB stints.

Yeah not sure if there is a spot for him starting everyday- but not that he's been doing that anyways. He can platoon with Taylor(hopefully re-signed)/Bellinger/Pollock. Dodgers probably want to keep experimenting with Lux in the outfield though.

Matzek- that was odd how the cops thought he was just a spectator during that parade. But man was he ever a nemesis for the Dodgers in the NLCS.
