Yeah, another one. They've been on a terrible run lately so I guess no real surprise.
He got fired because his team lost to Memphis, I think.
I want them to hire a good replacement I'd like to see porzingis shine
I really hate fisher as a player and as a person. What a scumbag.
I share the same sentiments buddy. Always had a good read on people and Fisher rubbed me the wrong way since his Laker days, just the same with Farmar. Ironically "d-bags" like cousins don't have the same effect on me as it's usually an ego problem that sometimes changes with age/maturity. With Fisher, there's something "fishy" that I never liked. Always was a fan of Matty B. and my instincts told me that Fisher was the probe in that situation.
Anyway, not to be off topic but I think the Knicks can do with a better coach imo. P.S. I mean no offense to Fisher fans, just sharing my initial feelings on the guy that may be totally wrong and for that, I apologize. Glad we got rid of the other 'Fishy' player in Farmar, though.
Love this Porzingis kid. Another reason why I'm glad the Knicks will attempt to find a new coach, hopefully one who trains, utilizes and trusts his rookies and younger players. Porzinigis has a lot of potential and his soft shooting touch along with his height are great resources in today's NBA. I see a bright future for the kid unless a coach (maybe someone like Doc who doesn't utilize his rooks/younger players) ruins it for him. That would piss me off as this kid seems like a personable character with a high ceiling.
I like Porzingis and would like to continue to see the Knickerbockers lose.
Porzingas is a fun and exciting player to watch, but he isn't going to make any coach look good by putting up more W's than L's. He's a low-efficiency, outside the paint playing big, otherwise known as a "modern big". Shades of Blake Griffin but worse. He's a career 43% shooter, which is just turrible for a big, and not that great for a PG. He's a good 3-pt shooter, but his eFG% is below average. His rebounding is below average and his passing is below average. He scores a lot of points, but I don't care how many points a guy scores if he's doing it at a below-average rate when most of his teammates shoot better than him. Just like Blake Griffin when he was the worst mid-range shooter on the Clippers team but took the most shots. It doesn't add up to Wins. And when any average PF is getting more rebounds than your PF, you're losing points You're losing points on shooting, rebounding, passing, and perhaps defense with volume shooting bigs like Porzingas. Unless you can make up for it by stacking the team with efficient scorers, rebounders, and defenders, you are going to struggle to play .500 ball in this league. It worked for the Clips because we had DJ, CP3, and JJ, all extremely efficient players at their positions. Knicks have a long way to go to make Porzingas pay off in W's.
I don't think Porzingis take that many 3's. Agree that he could be a better rebounder, though.
Come to think of it, look how close these two guys are at the shooting game:
Blake Griffin Kristaps Porzingis Average BIG
Position PF (4.5) FC (4.3) FC (4.5)
Field goal percentage 43.8% 43.9% 49.7%
Two point percentage 48.2% 45.4% 54.2%
Three point fg percentage 34.5% 39.5% 35.8%
Free throw percentage 78.5% 79.3% 73.1%
E field goal percentage 49.3% 48.9% 54.0%
True shooting 54.4% 53.9% 57.3%
Field goal attempts 24.3 27.5 16.4
Three point fg attempts 7.8 7.0 4.0
Free throw attempts 8.0 8.5 4.7
Blake had 3 co-starters who shot 60% TS% to complement him.
Porzingas has one in Kanter, but at low minutes. The Knicks will need a lot of years to be a serious team unless they can make a big FA acquisition next summer
