I'm not sure he would sign a 10 day, but I wouldn't mind signing him for the season, if he is healthy.

Love it if we get him.

No reason to screw around with 10day contracts this point in the season. We have roster spots and space to sign him. Nobody else is getting waived, yesterday was last day. Use it or lose it.

Clips looking to get on Shaqtin a bit more often then?

i like it. He's a better defender than hawes, and while he's a bit goofy, he can bring some energy with his high flying act

Shaq is just bullying Mcgee on NBATV and nobody gives a sh!t. The league needed a new Kwame Brown and Shaq delivered one. I respect Shaq as the most dominant center in past 30 years but the fact is that as a person, he is a huge D*CKHEAD with some ego problems. EVERY PLAYER MAKES BONEHEAD PLAYS. But they are not as overblown like Mcgees.

I doubt we get him just because I think he knows it's DJ spot, but DJs growth might also be a reason why we get a second look. If he had Collisons perspective where he thought a good run with a playoff team would get him more money.

Could we go big once Blake comes back if we got mcgee.

Cp/Austin

JJ/Jamal

Matt/blake

Blake/hawes/big baby

DJ/McGee

We could use Blake like a young LO

I think he would qualify as Doc pulling a rabbit from a hat.

that line up looks like a winner. Come on McGee, lob city is where you can thrive with guards that will feed you. We'll get you some ADD meds and make you respectable.

would be cool if he came to clips and turned into rashid walace. talented fun loving pyscho, but can be clutch.

Or more like, falling into Doc's lap.Wink

Maybe we have a shot of getting him, which would be good, now that Cleveland is not in the picture.Smile

I dunno, his boneheaded plays are definitely more egregious than others. They're pretty damn funny, but I think he would still have value on our team.

At the minimum contract, there's really no reason to complain about this, even if the guy is wild.

Basically having McGee of the bench if he understood what this team wants from a guy like him (run the floor, set picks, finish at the basket, rebound, defend) would be like having a second version of DJ off the bench. Hawes can get limited to just PF and McGee can play about 13-14 mpg off the bench behind DJ. This team doesn't need to know how much offensive skill he has or any nonsense like that which leads to turnovers.

Exactly. But there are two things left to do:

  1. Pray that doc will offer him a contract

  2. Pray for him choosing us and not Dallas or queen James or whoever else

Doc needs players he can rely on. McGee is definitely not that. If we get him, after a few games, he would just ride the bench for the rest of the season.

sure if we pass on this doc needs to leave the FO. This is the best we can get and it's a no brainer. We're not getting a decent SF this year (unless hamilton is allowed to play and becomes a solid player overnight) and the other big need is frontcourt depth and defense. He COULD provide that. He used to average something around 11pts 8rbs 2blk for the wizzards a few years back. So it's a relatively low-risk high-reward move.

This is a no-brainer. Then again, as a FO GM-type, Doc is a no-brainer.

Hollies with the exception of his constant fouling is a better rim protector than Hawes. We need a guy like him off the bench

Agreed we definitely need a better alternative than Hawes.

Perfect, just perfect.

Maybe its a ploy Doc is using to get other teams disinterested, then when fanfare dies down, bamm he signs Javale, it could happen.

I've read that McGee is a malcontent. Is he? Would he be destructive to the locker room's chemistry? Clippers already got rid of the cancer that was Farmar so if JaVale was gonna be another one to pout and complain about not getting the minutes, he probably shouldn't take up a roster spot. Perhaps that's what Doc is taking into consideration above all else.

Of course Doc doesn't want him. Doc fire yourself as BO

He's not a guard, what the hell do we need him for? Only athlete in the world this side of Andre Drummond which can come close to matching DJ's prowess. Naw, I'd rather give minutes to Hawes and watch him throw up bricks from 30feet away.

I don't know about all that Shaq stuff? But I reckon some players make more bonehead plays than others.

I bet he goes to Portland or Toronto. He'd be perfect for us, but we already know Doc doesn't like knuckleheads and Javale is the biggest knucklehead this league has ever seen.

Yes, it's true that some people make bonehead plays more often than others. But shaq sure has the need to humiliate other players. When he couldn't put Mcgee in shaqtin because he was injured and didn't play, he picked another player named kendrick perkins who appeared much more often than any other player in the league. Look at some of those episodes with mcgee or perk. Most of those clips are just normal mistakes that every player makes over the course of a game.

I think it'a a must in case Hawes can't guard his counterpart bench player. Don't think Javale wants such a small role though.

doc coached rashid wallace.

That's a good one...Doc trying to pull a fast one over the other interested GM's. Chuckle.

Maybe doc wasn't lying when he said he likes this team as is.

takeball wrote:

Rasheed was only a problem for opposing players and refs. He was beloved by his teammates, coaches and the media. Javale isn't loved by anyone. Seriously, he is one of the worst character guys in the league.

I'd still take him on our team though, I just don't have to like him.

Hopefully the Clippers don't sign McGee he isn't worth the trouble.

Honestly I'd sign him just so the Warriors won't.

No need to worry. He's not a guard.

If we don't get him...someone else will..

we need another big body..

we can put him against bogut ...

they can duke it out...both get suspended..

and we are ok..

we need somebody else besides barnes as a bad boy on this team

Some of them he's just straight picking on him, missed dunks happen, and goaltends happen, but then on a lot of them McGee just tries to play outside himself which is an issue he's always had

He wouldn't start so he'd be playing against Ezeli, not Bogut

we can use him in certain situations to slow bogut down..

like the warriors were using the big brute against blake..

Also against the bigs in OKC and Memphis

Some were warranted, some definitely weren't. The miss match on Isaiah Thomas was really caused from a terrible pass.

Somewhere on the Net: Would the Warriors go after JaVale McGee?

The answer is, by all appearances, they're pondering exactly that. Multiple reports say the Warriors are interested. A Warriors' source on Tuesday declined to address the matter, which usually means the situation remains fluid.

That would SUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doc's not going to bring anybody else aboard because he's in serious denial about Hawes being a serious defensive liability.Doc really seems to believe that Hawes is going to wake up and start playing competent defense,I think at this point that's sheer fantasy.Hawes offensive game might improve(hopefully) but he's too slow to be much of a rim protector.DJ better get ready to play 40 minutes or more every game down the final stretch of the season.
