Metta World Peace to the Clippers?

Clippers Forum » Clipper Rumors

MWP just got bought out by the knicks, he seems like he would be a good fit for the clippers. a physical defender and good spot up shooter, he could be what we need to guard durant in the playoffs since were going to have to go through them to get to the finals. also, a strong physicial presence and can play some 4. Do you think Coach Doc would consider him?

They are obsessed with washed up players - need a younger gm haha

he could help in the post season run though, theres really no point to have young players now when we are going for a championship

Nutty player but when he is all in he is a great defender !! Yes , him and big baby , Should do it !!

Yuck. He can't defend nor shoot anymore. He's like a walking slow footed body builder

id rather have metta than granger. Metta would understan his role better and is a better defender

But he can't defend anymore. Have u seen his lateral movement?

^ Yup. He also doesn't "understand his role" at all. He still thinks he's an All-Star scorer and no coach has been able to convince him otherwise. He will take the amount of shots he thinks he deserves, be they good or bad ones. No thank you.

I agree. His best days are behind him.

More exflakers, no thanks

Yeah i'd rather take Earl Clark than Ron Artest. He's younger and bigger and probably a better defender now

I've always liked Artest, but we need youth and athleticism, not more washed-up old players.

I hope Clippers pass on Metta. He spent the majority of this season trying to rehab his bum knee and he hasn't really been the top defender he was in the past. He's a tough dude, but he's really been hindered by his injuries.

Better options are Granger and Davis.

No thank you,not only an ex-Faker, one that is nuts and past his prime and is nuts.

Metta is a thug. I want Clip to win but having a cheap shot artist who likes to shoot and miss is not an upgrade. Doc Rivers and CP like the old guys so this maybe could happen. Hope not!

They want a bouncer we have only one (Barnes) they want another one to protect Blake.

Metta is no thug, haven't you heard is "Too Sexy" song. lol. I would love to have him, not because I think he still has it, or not because I think he'd be an enforcer, Simply because he would do what more of our bench players should be doing, witch is Shoot the ball. Metta never met a shot he didn't like, and seeing the way the bench has been playing minus JC, we need somebody who will at least take an open jumper and who won't be afraid to get into the paint.

In all seriousness though, IDK about Metta/Ron Ron, he's sorta a wild card like he's always been, kinda like a Box of Chocolate.

It depends on how healthy he is. But the biggest need for the clippers in another big guy.

He is about as bad as Andrew Bynum. Not something I want around this organization.

With two roster spots left, I would think our priorities are Danny Granger and Glen Davis. Although getting the toughness and defensive intensity from Metta would be awesome. Clippers would have to waive someone.

Metta World Peace is reportedly being waived and will be available to a team that is likely going to the playoffs. We all know his resume and his baggage. I haven't been following him lately so not sure where he is physically at this point. We have always known where he is mentally, in la la land. But he can be a very effective defender. If Doc brought him in it would be all about somebody that he wants him to defend in the playoffs without getting other key players in foul trouble. MWP would become a very defined role player. We would only need him for defense.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

if he is still good LAkers will not send him to Knicks and Knicks will not waived him, if we want a slow player lets bring in Karl Malone, Barkley Shaq and Webber.

Barkley in a jersey, not a pretty image.

I've wanted MWP not for his skillset, but for his

toughness.

with 3 roster spots I'd be in favor of getting Davis, Grangers/Clark,

and MWP.

You guys may not want to address it, but we need a tough

guy who can protect blake.

History shows MWP has no problem cracking

someone up side the head if they start

getting too rough with his star players.

If Doc pulls all 3 off we fill all 3of our holes.

Big Man, SF, and Softness.

.

True, even if it's a fan in the seats. Watch out Faker fans,Ron Artest may be back.

YOu guys do know this is not happening, right? I think if someone crunched numbers we may find even if this loose cannon was available to us and for some really bizarre reason Doc wants him, we may not have the cash.

id rather have chris kaman.

Would like Metta in the 15th roster spot if needs are filled first.

Really we already had our toughness in the form of Stak5, I think he would have been just as good in that role (he also played decent defense, and for being overweight moved better than MWP in NY). No need for him, would rather have Clark.

I'd definitely take Metta if we're not going to get Danny Granger. Clips have the second best offense in the league so while getting a better scorer at the 3 would be cool it's not necessary. We need guys that want to defend as a priority.

Apparently his defense wasn't a priority in NY, don't know if it would be here. When you can't get playing time with the Knicks who's defense isn't very good, that says a lot. Old "World" has dried up, LOL.

Metta is trash.. No please

^ I 2nd that. Dude is not only annoying but like you said, he's trash.

Is MWP even healthy? He is still a better defender than Granger or Davis.

I'm iffy on MWP. But I still remember when the Lakers would put him on CP3 and he would do a pretty good job. We may need his defensive presence come playoff time.

Honestly from the little I saw of him on the Knicks I don't even think he is better. He just looked terrible

I despise him. Please don't pick him up.....

Sign him up for 10 days to see what he got. If that legal...

From seeing him with the knicks he seems out of it, but that might be because the knicks suck this year. I see world being another barns with techs and flagrant so idk

Everybody wants Miami, okc or Spurs

They are more than welcome to him!!

Not really surprising. If you want a ring, those 3 and Indiana makes sense.

Both Metta and his brother have been tweeting about the Clippers lately... maybe he is coming here. Remember last offseason that before the reports came out that he signed with the Knicks, he tweeted out pictures of himself in a Knicks hat. Could be him once again using Twitter to hint at his destination.

Mettas brother said something on the lines of, "Metta is in great health, and if you want someone guarding LBJ in the Championship game, then let Metta go all out on him for 20-25 minutes a game."

Metta couldn't be no worse than Dudley at this point. IMO.

Metta's defense never consist of quickness, he is still very strong(muscle wise), long armed and veteran savvy enough to body up the Lebrons, KD's and Hardens of the NBA's.

Metta's last two coaches were D'Antoni and Woodson, two coaches known for their offense. Doc could find a role for Metta that could utilize him properly.........hopefully!

I don't see the fascination with Clark. Is he a good defender or something? Because his numbers scream Byron Mullens part deux.
