Jared Dudley the Ultimate "Glue Guy"

Clippers Forum » Clippers News & General Discussions

He hasn't been very sticky so far this year. More like invisible ink. Decent game last night I guess, first three you wouldn't know he was there.

"Despite his 12-point outburst in Phoenix, Dudley has focused on defense through the preseason, deciding to let the offense work itself out."

This quote sums up the preaseason perfectly for Dudley. I'm hoping it is just a case of him deciding to focus more on defense. I liked what I saw in the Phoenix game, and I hope that we see more of that from Dudley during this time that JJ Redick is out

Or this part;

“For the most, part for me, it’s me knowing when to pick and choose my spots,” Dudley said. “Right now defensively is where I think I can help the team out the most, just as far as helping out with rotations and being there. Offensively, that will come in due time. Once these guys get a little more comfortable with the offense and knowing it more in and out, that’s when the wrinkles and counters work better.”

Yep, some people may miss those parts I'm afraid. Not worried one bit about Dudley.

He had a great game against Phoenix. I wonder how much of that was based on the motivation of facing his former team. Well, Dudley definitely proved that he is going to be missed in Phoenix

Hope that he does as much as everyone gives him credit for.

When you glue something, you shouldn't even notice it's there. Good glue should seemlessly blend two parts together, giving you the impression that it is one piece. In this way, invisible ink may be a bit of a compliment

I don't think disappearing in a game is a compliment even with a clever metaphor.

We will see Friday. I'm hoping for him to return to that 10 PPG average in Redick's absence. With Redick in the lineup I'm expecting about 6-8 PPG on solid shooting percentage

I expect his numbers to go up with Redick in the lineup. I think Dudley will find himself even more wide open.

It's a little frustrating, we get Reddick and Dudley and so far JJ hasn't played and Jared hasn't looked so good. Well it's early days so we'll see how it all works out.

DJ's playing like a new player so that makes up for it so far.

Yeah JJ not playing has been kind of a surprise because he looked good in training camp. Precautionary, I suppose but damn, I can't wait to see he and CP3 on the floor together.

I wonder if he'll play tomorrow?

I doubt it. Maybe next week. We know Blake won't play tomorrow but may Saturday. It would be nice if EVERYONE was ready Saturday.

What's going on with Blake is it the knee bruise or the ankle or what?

Just another precaution. Doc says he doesn't want to play Blake until he's 100%.

The season is brutal so it makes sense to be cautious while they can. It would be great to see the full team play though!

Ankle per Doc.
