Who Will Start at Shooting Guard in 2016 Olympics?

Clippers Forum » NBA Basketball Talk

I am watching the scrimmage right now and my laker fan girl friend asks "who will take kobe's spot on the next Olympic team?" Got me thinking because I could not really give an answer; Russell Westbrook? Klay Thompson? two dudes I do not want to see in the play offs.

lebron or durant make the move to the 2?

I was thinking James Harden if he plays.

By the way, this should be in the NBA forum.

I forgot James Harden but he needs the ball a lot, kind of a chucker, probably the best shooting guard in the league but not the best fit.

Yeah, that is possible. They can definitely shut down the foreign shooting guards.

that is true, but he is still a great spot up shooter. he did a lot of that in OKC, with Westbrook and Durant shooting most of the shots and driving.

Lebron at the 5 Durant at the 4. Lets run and gun! Can you imagine a team where Lebron plays the 5? I can't even begin to think of the fast breaks

lol and kobe wasn't/is not a chucker?

The NBA sure is lacking young talent at SG.

I think Paul George would fit well along with Harden. Curry and Klay would also be good options. The team is stacked at PG, and a lot of those are scoring PG's so I don't think there will be that much trouble filling the spot.

Gonna be someone who scores a lot and fits the role of the World's style of basketball. Remember, they use Lebron and Melo at PF, and rarely use true centers at the Center spot. Most of the world shoots from long range and plays along the perimeter.

I'd place a bet that it'll be Harden or maybe a guy that isn't even in the league yet. Regardless, it'll be a top player in the league, even someone like Russell Westbrook could be a serious candidate. Durant will play the 3 and Lebron at the 4 as always.

Meh just consider WB and Rose SGs. Very Happy

Harden. Euro-style basketball favors his euro-stepping ways.
