NBA Rumors @NBARUMORS 12s
Rumor: Iman Shumpert and Tyson Chandler for Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Jordan.
I'm looking at Tyson Chandler's post season stats the last few seasons w/ the Knicks, and I'm not all that impressed. I don't know if he is much of an upgrade over DeAndre Jordan, plus he is older and more injury prone. I don't think I would waste Eric Bledsoe in such a trade, especially since we need E-Bled to help get us a premier SG/SF.
Now if Tyson Chandler can return to his form a couple years ago in the PO w/ the Mavericks, then yeah, but he's not getting any younger, so I'm very doubtful that he will.

I would do this in a heartbeat
The least favorite trade idea that I have seen yet. It would be a slight upgrade at Center, but Bledsoe is way better than Shumpert.
How legit is "@NBARUMORS"? Because I haven't seen any real source tweet anything about this...
Really...? Slight upgrade? Chandler anchored the defense to a championship team 2 years ago and he's only about to hit 31. Duncan and Garnett are 36+. With the right coaching and players, your efficiency will raise and you could possibly stay in the league longer. Rivers knows how to manage vets that are aging. AND Bledsoe is way better than Shumpert? Don't think so. Dude just came off an injury. This season he will be back even stronger and better,
And he is more than worthy to be a starting SG.
I'm all in for this trade. Shumpert is much younger than Afflalo and Reddcm which is a plus as well.
Great trade for both parties involved. Tyson is a bully and Shump is a nice combo guard.
Adding that 1st Rd pick would only sweeten the deal. ![]()
LOL Chandler is an all star and one of the top 5, if not thee best, defensive players in the NBA. Last season he was the DPY. It would a monster upgrade over Deandre. Bled is a little more valuable than Shump at the moment but that's mainly because he missed a lot of last season with an injury. But he can play 3 positions and is also a dominant wing defender. .402 from 3pt. land last season. He is the definition of 3 and D and is still on a rookie deal.
Knicks would be crazy to do this trade so it probably won't happen but it's pretty much the ideal move we could ever make this off season.
Don't think this is a real trade but if it is I would do it.Chandler and Shump are great defenders who would fit in well with the team.If this is a serious trade I would do it.Think it benefits both teams. But Chandler is aging and hasn't been that good in the playoffs so I would ask for a 1st or 2nd rounder.

He's also going to be 31 years old and will likely begin to decline soon. DJ has the potential to be every bit the defender that Chandler is and DJ's defensive rating and defensive win shares were actually better than Chandler's was this past season.
Chandler's PER was only a little better than DJ's, as was his total rebound percentage. DJ's steals percentage and blocks percentage were also higher than Chandler's. Chandler is the better player but not by leaps and bounds. The biggest difference is that Chandler can make free throws and stay on the floor longer, but would that be worth more than the games that he will likely miss due to injury?
I would much rather keep DJ and Bledsoe. The difference between Bledsoe and Shumpert is greater than the difference between Chandler and Jordan. If the Knicks throw in something else, then I would considered it, but not as it is. I am betting that this rumor isn't even legit.
Clips are in "WIN NOW" mode. DJ is not a "WIN NOW" mode type big.
They won 56 games with him, and had way below average play out of their 2 position. The Clippers are in a win now mode for the next few years, not just one season in my opinion.
I believe the Clippers are going to add shooters, who can defend at the 2 and 3 positions, because it was the team's biggest weakness.
Chandler is a bit old, Shumpert isn't Mr. healthy and there's no 1st round draft pick coming our way back. No THX
Isn't Chandler 30? His contract expires at 32 or 33, I wouldn't call that old. Why would they send a pick, it's a even talent trade, Bledose is better than Shumpert, Chandler is better than Jordan
Wouldn't be surprised if the Knicks do this at all. Can't be worse than the Bargnani deal....
This is a good deal for the Clippers. Shumpert shot 40% from 3 with Felton as the PG. He can definitely be our 3 and D SG.
Remember guys Doc is our coach now. And he is waay better than woodson or VDN. If we´re getting chandler, probably we´re getting the best version of him, skill wise (about health, we don´t know actually. And that´s the main advantage DJ has over him. He always plays) and will shine again with a serious coach. Shump is a nice addition.
With that being said, the same can said about DJ. "He will improve with a serious coach like Doc", but then again, we aren´t sure. And we don´t have time to waste.
Chandler could be our third star. Still not sure if Blake could be a pick n pop guy.
a 2nd rounder or a pick swap could work, too, if the deal doesn´t seem fair to you, guys. Seems pretty fair to me without the picks.
Some of these rumors keep getting dumber and dumber. We went from getting solid all around player like Afflalo and a great up and coming forward in Nicholson to some stupid ideas about getting players, who are rarely healthy or can't defend at all...or all they can do is defend! Like it usually happens, the first idea is always the best and so far:
Afflalo + Nicholson > DeRozan / Chandler + Shumpert / Tony Allen / JJ Reddick, etc.
Chandler was drafted directly out of High School if you don't recall. Being 30 years old means he's had 11+ years of NBA basketball on his body. That's old, especially for a Center.
No mention of CP3 playing with Chandler again?! I'm not siding fornor against this trade... But it is an observation worth noting.
Now that we got two shooters they may go back to NY with Crawford/DJ for Shump/Chandler. Shump is probably a better fit on the roster compared to Jamal now that we have Redick and Dudley long term. A young athlete on the wing would be a big help and I still say Tyson Chandler is a monster upgrade over DJ.
Hell No Keep DJ.
How can we trade DJ for Gortat? Pleeease
I guess we can't
I guess some people aren't realizing yet that DJ is staying.
I think DJ will be gone if any slight opportunity presents itself.
I feel that way too. I think the team isn't out of options about trading DJ right now. I am sure the team has faith in DeAndre and with Doc here, maybe he can set DJ back on the right path. Problem with trading DeAndre now is that we just traded Bledsoe, so any deal with DJ would mean bringing a Center back. I can't honestly see why any team would take DJ and send us a Center back, especially one we feel is better than DeAndre. Plus, his contract is horrible.
Only thing I can think of would be for us to send a 1st rounder, more than likely unprotected and DJ for a different Center. We can't send next years pick because teams are not allowed to go without 2 1st round draft picks in consecutive years ( our 2015 first belongs to Boston ). Same goes with 2016. So that would mean a team would have to wait 4 years until the 2017 draft to get the pick we'd send them along with DJ.
Potentially I could see us maybe getting Earl Clark, using him at Center and trading DJ for say a PF for an extra big body. But we'd basically be platooning the C spot and rotating 3 guys in the PF/C spot all year long.
I'd really love DJ to renegotiate the terms of his contract and take a pay cut. If he would take like 2-3 mill less a year, and heck even CP3 should have taken less money along with Blake, we could add more flexibility in who we can go after come free agent time.
I think DJ will be gone if any slight opportunity presents itself.
That's funny considering that a few teams have tried to trade for him. Do you just make stuff up, throw it at the wall and hope it sticks? LOL
It was also reported that Doc asked Ainge to not take DJ.
You guys crack me up. The guy gets invited to Team USA camp. Greg Popovich speaks very highly of the guy. Doc has said that he wants him and thinks he can be an elite defender, yet he still sucks.
It's time to stop with that crap.
I think DJ will be gone if any slight opportunity presents itself.
What, now we have to try and read the tea leaves or take what Doc says and play it backwards for the real meaning, lol.
Taking it at face value he was pretty emphatic about what he thought about DJ, so I think
there's a 99.98% that he's staying...but yes there is a slight chance he could be
gone. ![]()
With his physical skill defense should be a no brainer. The concepts aren't rocket science. Barkley said that he got rebounds because he wanted them more than anybody else. To defend you have to want to get good position more than they do. You have to get as physical as ZBo. It's a matter of heart. It's a matter of confidence. As far what Doc says take some of it with a grain of salt. When asked about DJ he has to say something positive even though he may (or may not) wish DJ were never on the squad.
Jim Hill:
Doc we've heard a lot about Jordan's failure to produce in the PO's. Any comment
Doc: I've really been looking forward to coaching him. He will be our defensive anchor" He leaves the studio and thinks "What a lazy MF
Doc: Jim he's the laziest MF Iv'e ever met. Even his own mother says he's lazy"
Which one works?
Remember that his mother said he was so unmotivated that she was going to be his coach over the
summer and keep a fire lit under him..
Ok, guess we know where your mind set is. He'll never, never work out for the Clippers and it's hopeless to let Doc even try.
Stomach's full.
We're stuck with him. Time to make some lemonaid out of a lemon. We have no choice but to support him and get behind him as his fans. GO DJ!
If he falls on his butt TRYING to box out, great. If he tries his post move with passion and misses, right on. Keep fu*king trying. Don't give up. If he puts on his game face and doesn't pout, right on. If he picks up fouls out knocking Zbo on his ass great
At this point I would appreciate fire and passion and work ethic. This has been my main beef
There was a little boy who was a real piece of work so for his birthday present they filled his room full of horse s*it. He took a look went in closed the door. Soon his parents heard a racket and there he was digging through all this horse hockey as fast as he could.
"Mom with all this horse sh*t there's got to be a pony here somewhere"
I'll grab a shovel and help you dig
Whether they apply or not to to the story line your tales are quite entertaining Toohip...I applaud your sir.

DJ will be better under doc. Just How much. The guy might be our most important player, maybe he will realize that
Tell DJ he has to eat his BBQ dry with sauce on the side until he shapes up. That'll motivate him.
Thanks Tense Appreciated
