No Trade... Future Free Agents

The Clippers should not make any moves by the trade deadline… DJ has somewhat plateaued (Even though is just mid season) and Bledsoe might not be a Clipper after next season but the team is performing well when healthy. Why disrupt that?

Clippers making a trade this offseason is more likely though...

Here are some key free agents Clippers should consider looking at this offseason within the squad and NBA market:

Clipper Free Agents -

Barnes, Billups, Hollins, Odom, Turiaf, and Paul… Everyone has earned the right to get re-signed. Chris Paul is priority. Next in line is Billups, Barmes, and Odom… Hollins over Turiaf just because Hollins is younger, more athletic, and not injury prone.

NBA Free Agents -

PG: Aaron Brooks, Nate Robinson, C.J. Watson

SG: O.J. Mayo, Tony Allen, J.R. Smith

SF: Andre Iguodala (With pay cut), Trevor Ariza, Earl Clark

PF: Marreese Speights

C: Greg Oden

Who knows what will happen this offseason in regards to trades but O.J. Mayo and Trevor Ariza are solid players that would bring a lot to the table for the Clippers. O.J. Mayo would want a two to three year deal and Ariza would get a two year deal (Second year non-guaranteed) to try and purse Lebron in two years but the Clippers shouldn't hold there breath. Anything is possible though...

Super fired up for Friday to put all the trade rumors behind us (and to know what and if any moves were made) and REALLY fired up for April 18th when Clips are only team in town! Still sure that there will be Kobe and Company talk on the radio but the Clipper Chatter will dominate the local airwaves FINALLY

I would be willing to bet on April 19th the newspapers and the radio still talk about the greatness of the Lakers and what to do in the off season so they can win the championship next year,,,with a small," oh yeah, Clippers are in the playoffs".

Mayo will command a ton of money, and my guess is Dallas will pay him once they realize CP3 isn't on the table anymore. Nate Robinson flat out sucks and I'll kill this guy if he's on our team. He's either 10-15 or 2-18 from the field. He makes horrible decisions and horrible passes. Were a winning team, not a me-first team. CJ Watson is garbage, can only be used for 10-15 minute a night games. He will get paid 3-5 mill a year somewhere. That's too much. We have Crawford here, who I believe is a better player than JR Smith. And Smith is worse than Crawford when it comes to ball hogging. He's also a bad character player. Tony Allen won't leave Memphis. And I believe he will have a bigger role with Gay gone. Oden has 1 bigger leg than the other. Fact is I would like to give him a shot on the team for the remainder of the year and play him 10-15 minutes a night to see if he can handle it, but I just think he may end up retiring. Ariza is streaky and is having injury problems. When you can't get solid playing time on the Wizards, you know there is something wrong. Earl Clark will remain a Laker or get paid big time bucks somewhere else. He's breaking out this year with all the playing time he's been getting and we won't be able to pay him. Igoudala would have to take a serious pay cut, but I think he stands firm staying in Denver long term. I actually hope he does, good fit for that team. Speights would be a nice prize to land, but once again he's breaking out a bit and would command a hefty salary in the off season. Look for Cleveland, Orlando, Detroit to make....

FAs that eyed keep my eye on for next season include:

pg: Jarrett Jack

sg: Chauncey Billups

sf: Dorrell Wright, Chase Budinger, Matt Barnes, Linas Kleiza

pf: Jason Smith, DeJuan Blair

c5: Zaza Pachulia, Ronny Turiaf

if we make it to the conference finals like I think we might, would then vote to return all Clippers on the roster at present, perhaps save Hollins....

after that am thinking players that can play playoff/championship caliber defense.... secondary wish are outside shooters at the three.... w/a tertiary consideration to anyone who can ball for Lob City....

Only person on this list I sorta like is Brooks. I think he can be had for cheap.

If we do anything major this off season, I say we send DJ and something else to get Marc Gasol. He can play big minutes and can float out around the top of the key to clear the paint for Blake if need be. He also knows how to box out, rebound, shoot, hit free throws, steal, pass and he's not a liability. Oh and, he's better than Pau.

Mayo is worth around 5 million a year any more than that is questionable and I think Mayo might accept 4 million to play along side CP3 and Blake.

I think Ariza would fit in well just because Ariza won't be Clippers main threat like Ariza was with Houston, Hornets, or Wizards. Ariza flourished with the Lakers because Ariza focused on defending and would hit the open shot just like Clark is currently doing because the attention is focused on other players. I would still test the waters with a one year contract to leave the door open for Lebron in two years.

I don't think Oden will retire just yet. Two year contract second year non guaranteed worth 3 million a year tops for Oden wouldn't be a bad gamble. Oden wouldn't be a starter thats for sure.

If the Clippers deal away Bledsoe (With Butler Maybe for Milsap like recent reports say) than I think Aaron Brooks would be a nice sign to rotate with CP3 but if the Clippers get O.J. Mayo too than Billups can be CP3's back up.

CP3/Billups

Mayo/Crawford/Green

Ariza/Barnes/Hill

Blake/Milsap/Thompkins

DJ/Oden/Hollins

Anything is possible and I think a lot will have to do with how far the Clippers make it in the playoffs or even possibly win a championship...

By the way, Marc Gasol would be a great pick up for the Clippers

The way the Grizzlies are shedding players it may be a fire sale in Memphis! Lets get Tony Allen and Marc Gasol and just use em for practices in El Segundo!

I'd do DJ+Bledsoe for Allen+Gasol.

id add reddick and korver to that list. reddick is a solid defender who can play pg and of course he is a deadly 3 pt shooter. korver is another solid defender who can shoot it with the best of them. jason smith would be a great player to have off the bench.

Redick would definitely spread the floor but not a defensive player and against Lebron or Durant I think Redick wouldn't be able to contain that ridiculous offense

We're not going below the cap, so the only players we can obtain in free agency will need to be willing to accept the MLE or less.

MLE shouldn't be a problem... Players will be lining up to come to L.A. and play along side Blake and CP3
