Clippers Forum » Clippers News & General Discussions

Hey all,

Here’s the HOOPSWORLD team’s Los Angeles Clippers Season Preview

(of which I wrote a big chunk)

http://www.hoopsworld.com/2012-2013-los-angeles-clippers-season-preview/

Some big issues/questions moving forward " CP3 stays past this year? Vinny Del Negro a lame duck?

How does this group come together? But there’s a lot to like " and this could be a very strong year for the team with its mix of athletes and veterans.

Thanks

Eric

All of the above

CP3 stays and VDN is definitely a lame duck in the playoffs.

CP3 definitely stays, and Vinny might be a good coach, but he's just not a a playoff caliber coach, every time I hear his name, I remember the pic of when the big 3 of SA are just chillin on the bench, and CP and BG are staying on the bench, while Vinny looks at his papers, and tries to figure out what the f*** Popovich is doing! He's a coach allright, just not a playoff coach!

When you have Grant Hill, CP3, and Chauncy Billups on your team you wont need a "playoff caliber coach"

It's never good when you have anarchy on your hands, especially in a playoff team, the head coach is supposed to come up with a set system, and than just let the players do their own thing, didn't trun out too well for us with the anarchy we had on defense against SA in the POs! 24 - 0 run, that's unacceptable!

Not to mention losing to the Spurs six times. The only win they got was when one of their players (Tony Parker) was injured. Although they finally broke the decade losing streak, the Clippers were just helpless against the military-minded Popovich.

Popovich is definitely the best coach out there, and we need a coach that can at least compete a little!

The only coach who can defeat them is Phil Jackson. But he's retired. Who else can defeat the Spurs?

George Karl?

Poor Karl, he has no really good pieces back in Denver like we do!

Denver is stacked man.

Iggy, Javale, Andre Miller, Wilson Chandler, Gallinari, Ty Laweson, Faried...

Denver is going to be top 5 seed in the West.

Scott Brooks? I don't consider Brooks a good coach either.

Stacked with good players, not one legit star. Iggy is probably their best player now but the guy is very limited offensively for his position.

They don't have legit superstars like CP3 and Griffin but they have a lot of nice young talent. They are far from a scrub team. Probably 4-6th seed team but 2nd round exit at best unless one of their players develops into a superstar. I like Mcgee, Ty Lawson, Gallo, Faried, and Iggy. Nice core, a lot of young talent, a lot of depth.

I agree, but they have faired much better than teams who have legit stars...ahem Knicks...ahem Blazers.

Now adding Iggy over Affalo puts them in a very nice position. They should be a team feared.

Also Faried is going to be awesome!

The only legit Blazer star is Aldridge, and I don't know how the Knicks sucked so bad last season, with so many good players; Javale, Miller, Chandler = Jordan, Bledsoe, Crawford, not really stars!

The Nuggets need to shoot for the 4 seed with a shot to get to 2nd round. Clippers need to fight for 3 or 4 IMO - make sure they don't slip to 5.

The higher you are the easier it is to win against the small teams!
