I think I've found the solution to drastically improve our frontcourt AND improve DeAndre Jordan's game as well. By signing Robin Lopez to be DeAndre's backup he would bring youth, defense (yeah it isn't anything spectacular yet), and size. Another interesting point would be the fact that Robin would FINALLY give DeAndre a reason to worry about his starting spot. With that pressure breathing down DeAndre's neck he is bound to improve, and Robin should improve as he works to take the starting job. Another bonus would be the possibility of playing both DeAndre and Lopez when necessary in order to dominate in size (which we haven't been able to do in quite some time). The only tough part of this idea is how it would come to fruition. We may have an advantage over the Hornets in a sign and trade because we are currently a playoff team. What I'm wondering is what would we need to trade in order to get him? Would trading a future first rounder be worth it? Also, is he even worth trading for in your guys' opinions?
Is it possible to do a sign and trade for Robin Lopez?

Yeah I wrote about this in the trade ideas thread,I would love for this to happen I'm sure Kenyon wouldn't mind going to Phoenix because they would probably give him more then one year,New Orleans as of now was reported to have made an attemt with Phoenix for a S&T so I assume It's possible even for us but I think we might hit the cap line at 70Mil which I think a team then pays a pay tax of sorts but I'm not sure.
But yeah I'm with U completely I think he would be great as our back up big (He has a lot more size then Ryan Hollins which will be neede in oor division). Not sure Blake would be to crazy about it though.
*Oh and he's from L A which is always a plus(I think;except for Baron Davis)
^^^Oh and supposedly where one of the teams trying to sign Malcolm Thomas (Bulls summer league squad) who did though average 10-12 rebounds a game in the SML
Oh and Definetely DON'T trade a 1st round pick for him not worth it;I would rather we keep that 1st round pick and draft a SF with Length that can defend/rebound/and add some athletisism of the bench. And next years draft should have a good amount of those type of players we could then develop for a year under Grant Hill/and Caron Butler.
Some players that could drop to us
Andre Roberson(Colorado)
Jerami Grant (Syracuse)
Sam Decker(Wisconsin)
etc.
^ really?? youre talking about players that we m ight be able to draft next year? how far exactly would these players have to drop to get to us? how do you know they dont shine during the ncaa season and go in the lottery? what if we are the 30th over all pick bc we won it all?? what if those guys suck?? its a little early to be talking about next years draft man
Man It's funny how heated people get when all I was saying was why we should keep our 1st round pick.
Chill the out It was just an idea and what kind of players we can use to build around Blake, and CP3 for the future(can't expect Hill/&Caron 2 play more then 2 years ;well at least).
Looks like a no no for us.....Hornets, Suns n Wolves is putting together a 3-team trade
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Hornets, Suns, Wolves are nearing agreement on a 3-way deal that would send Robin Lopez to the Hornets in a sign-and-trade, sources tell Y!
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Along with Lopez, Suns would send Hakim Warrick to Hornets. Minny would send Wesley Johnson and a 1st round pick to the Suns, sources say.
I would agree to send 1st round for him he's young and big, a premium in this league. The Clips could always flip him after a year or so for more picks or an area of need. I just think they'd have the cashish to sign him I don't think he'd be a minimum guy, so I'd see it as a pipe dream, but would do it if I could. I think the pain of giving away 1st rounders exists because of the Baron Davis deal and the depth of this years class, of course hindsight had Olshey known that amnesty would be a provision and that Sullenger would drop to 21st would have a decent argument albeit many stars would have to have been aligned. Could you imagine if that would have happened Oh Me Oh My
Lopez isn't worth a 1st round pick IMO. We'd probably have to throw in Trey Thompkins and then it's probably a pointless trade. Trey can still get a lot better and I wouldn't want to move him.
Saw the 3-team trade. Why in the hell would Minnesota do that? Wes Johnson and a 1st round pick for Brad Miller (he's retired and will not show up) and some "future picks". What is that? Give up on the 4th pick in the draft after only two years? Stupid.

They're opening up cap space....
My guess is that they either sign AK47 or Brandon Rush.

Sometimes things work out better when u have less. Last season DJ was playing better prior to us having K-Mart. I remember prior to K-Mart be on the team. DJ was averaging 36 mins a game. After K-Mart DJ was avg like 22 mins a game. Bringing his avg mins down to about 25 per a game for the season. I believe that DJ could of had a much better season if he had played more minutes. I think it might be a blessing in disguise not adding any more bigs. We already have Lamar, Ryan and Trey. That will take away minutes from DJ. I would rather have DJ avg 36 mins a game and let him finally develop into the big man we can depend on. DJ has the talent to be a future All-Star. I really believe he just needs to avg more minutes to put up Roy Hibbert Stats. It's only 12 Pts and 10 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. Would give him Slightly better Stats. I don't see It being 2 difficult for DJ to accomplish. I think he can easily avg 14+ a game if given the time, confidence and effort to achieve it. What do u guys think?
^also if u guys remember DJ was avg like 3 blocks a game and leading the league in blocked shots prior to Kmarts arrival.
Actually for whatever reason Clippersam as soon as Billups(I think Billups told him where to be on D till he got injured) went down DJ looked lost out there,VDN just made it worst by playing Kenyon over DJ to finish games which completely wrecked DJ's confidence.
^^I laugh when people hate on DJ I mean it was his first year as a starter, and he's only 23 and especially for big men and point guards those positions take longer to learn in the league
^Yeah I'm with you on DJ he's a Tyson Chandler clone. I see him at 10-12ppg
10rpg
3 blocks
When Chris Paul says DJ is important for this team to get better I think its fair to say will be seeing a lot more of DJ regardless who we sign. And when you have Billups,CP3,Bledsoe,and Odom handling the ball they'll find him open a lot more this year(as opposed to Mo.Foye, kenyon, and Nick Young<who we all know are not knowned as passers)
Can't wait till the season starts we don't need anyone else just for our team to stay healthy. I mean where allready 10-12 deep

Yup you're right. AK47 is not taking Brooklyn's minimum offer. He wants to paid.
minny is opening cap space with that move because they missed out on batum so they need a sf who can be a presence, which what both rush and AK47 are. and yes, lopez isnt worth a first rd pick. also, it makes the hollins signing pointless because neither hollins or lopez would want to be the 3rd center. and with the money dj is making, no way he plays behind them two.
We still need one more player. We are at 12. I'd rather have a SF than another Big. Odom is gonna get Martin/Evans Minutes backing up DJ and BG. that's covered if healthy.
^ good point. didnt the clips sign morrison? or no?

I feel the same way. I think the things you say played a huge factor.
I heard Greg Anthony say it after the Clippers last Summer League Game.
But I haven't heard or read anything since....
I am starting to wonder....
