Who do you like to be our new GM?

Clippers Forum » Garbage Bin

So now that Olshey is gone, who should be our next Vice President of Basketball Operations? Most analysts and sports people think the Clippers won't rush into anything for a while. Waiting around can't be good. All indications say that there is uncertainty in upper management and in the front office right now. I do not trust Vinny & Co being able to adequately handle the GM duties for the upcoming free agency period. (making beneficial trades, convincing CP3 to sign, etc.) They might do a decent job with the draft, but when you only have a late 2nd round pick, there isn't really much they can screw up.

So who should be our next GM?

(Here are my candidates by preference)

1). Kevin Pritchard (is currently working on a month-to-month contract with the Pacers as their Director of Player Personnel. He is reportedly making $200,000 per year. He can leave at any time.)

2) Ronnie Lester (former Lakers Assistant GM for 20+ years. Won multiple championships as assistant GM. Seems to have a good reputation.)

3) Kiki Vandeweghe

So who likes Kevin Pritchard? I think we can get him.

Kevin Pritchard, Dennis Lindsey, maybe Ronnie Lester (I don't know much about him though)

Longshots: Jerry West, Phil Jackson

I hear Pritchard is pretty top shelf. Let's give him a call. The one thing I'm going to miss most from Olshey is how proactive he was. He was always looking to improve the team. Prior to him in the Elgin Baylor/Sterling run era.... we never really made productive moves or signed free agents.

Why copy my thread? You posted this five minutes after I posted my GM candidates thread.

I hope Andy Roeser knows what he's doing. He's one of DTS pets. we might end up with another Elgin Baylor. Sad
