Hey all,

Scary moment(s) for the Clippers

Eric Gordon Plays Through Finger Tear

He played through it and expects to play tomorrow night in Portland but he can’t move the ring finger on his shooting hand.

Thanks

Eric

yikes... hope the training/medical staff can keep him relatively pain free, and he continues to play for us. He showed guts tonight and really took over the 2nd half. We need him for every single game for the rest of the season.

Maybe VDN can cut his minutes a little shorter.... maybe more of Foye. We'll see...

I hope he toughs it out. We don't need any more injuries to slow us down now.

most heartbreaking incident so far this season for me personally, but it could only add to the storybook...

Anybody know if this can potentially turn into a lingering injury for life? A torn tendon sounds pretty bad but it's also not like the broken bone in Kobe's finger, so my guess it'll either heal on its own while EJ still plays ball, or it's something he can wait until the off-season to fix?

So is it officially a tear...I don't think it is confirmed yet.

How long do these things usually take to heal?

Lisa Dillman tweeted that Clippers said it's a torn tendon. Ralph tweeted that Gordon still plans to play tonight, but that was late last night after they landed in Portland.

Hopefully this isn't one of those injuries that'll affect his game, he seemed fine last night in the 2nd half but the swelling will definitely be worse tonight.

Also a torn tendon doesn't instantly mean surgery is needed, as said on tense2's link. Likely a partial tear since a full tear will require surgery and they wouldn't have let him play on last night. Medical staff may wait and see how he performs, level of pain, and finger mobility before telling him if he needs surgery or not.
