Clippers Topbuzz New Member Welcome Introduction Thread (P. 2)

Hello everyone, my name is Josh and I am new to this forum. I stumbled across this site just recently and found the content useful, so I hope to be a good part to this community.

I've been part of Clipper Nation since the days where Ralph routinely said "Vaught from his spot" and "I like Ike" was the slogan we shouted at the Sports Arena. Yes, it's been a hard 13 years, but I am faithful to the Clips, and this year's team looks headed in the right direction.

Anyway, look forward to talking with all of you. Oh yeah, there isn't any room for traitors on our team, so I'm glad we don't have that man who used to wear #42 for us.

Welcome, I also just found out about this site a few weeks ago. I'm sure that you'll have a great time discussing the accomplishments as well as your concerns of the team. Don't hesitate to contribute at the discussions from time to time .

It'd been really hard to be a Clipper fan but I think that Baron Davis is ready to lead Clipper Nation to the promise land.

Honestly, I didn't eat any Jollibee when I was there. I only eat it here in Cerritos. I don't know why...Jollibee was the last place I wanted to eat there.

Also, McDo is horrible there. It's best in China. They have such quality there.

hey i just found this site and look forward to reading all the clipper news in the dry days until october. i have been a clipper fan for a while. i remember elgin's elation when danny manning was the pick and i remember saving the newspaper when bo kimble was the selection.

i'm excited to see the clippers recover so quickly from the brand debacle and sign players who make them a playoff team instead of just waiting til next year. i never bought a brand jersey. i liked him but i never got excited when he took the floor. baron davis on the other hand i plan to rock the number 1 as soon as i find a good looking bootleg in chinatown.

thanks for the welcome. it's great to hear from so many clipper fans. i can't wait for the season to start and the BDE baron davis era to begin. i am a long time clipper fan but right now all that history is BB before baron and everything else will be AB after baron.

Welcome to CTB seanyboy989! Yeah those were some exciting days- I remember at one stretch at the end of the season we could beat anybody, even though we didn't make the playoffs.

this site gets addicting after awhile

Hi everyone! I'm new on this forum though I've been reading your guys' posts for several months now. I've been a huge Clippers fan since I've been watching B ball on tv. I originally started following them in Kaman's rookie year which really isn't that long of a time. I have been hooked ever since though. I do watch the Lakers also but I make it a priority to catch any Clippers game (Lakers games are just an after thought for me). I love B ball in general... I'll watch most any game except if you put some turd like The Grizzlies vs The Knicks in front of me. Any who just wanted to say hi and I hope to enjoy many discussions with ya'll in the future.

I have no idea. I'll name a few but they didnt haunt us at all. Maybe their team did but not them. Odom didnt but the lakers sure did. thats about it! lol

Maybe they were referring to Mo Taylor, Vlade Radmanovic, Lamond Murray, Lorenzen Wright, Andre Miller, Darius Miles, and the list goes on and on.....blah blah blah. We have heard it a bunch of times how so many good players have left the Clippers. We have had many players, like many other teams. They all can't be MJ or Magic. With halloween coming i'm sure the Clippers get chills just thinking of how they let those great players get away.

You beat me to this post. I was going to start with Q-Rich, then Bobby Simmons, and finish with Olowakandi. But the point is clear: the team isn't going to overpay for players that are: overrated, dead-weight, or space cadets.

All you guys are right on with this point.

The other flaw in this article is that Sacramento gets a B-!!! They won something like 35-38 games last year. They'll be lucky to win 30 this year (remember they had Bibby part of the year). Giving a B- grade to a team that's going downhill? Also a B- is generous for the Lakers. They did not improve. They are an excellent team, but they did not make any moves to get better.

Off topic, but how many draft picks do we have and what are they?

There are no Clippers that will come back and haunt the team, maybe, except FElton Brand. Look at a list of overrated clippers players...Candyman(nuff said), Andre Miller(no impact), Lamar Odom (overpaid, disappears in playoffs), Corey 'no D' Maggette, Vladamir Radmonovic (inconsistant, no low post game), D Miles (no haunting with that busted knee), Q Rich (Antoine Walker like 3 pt shooting)...these are all players that are haunting their own teams. I will admit that Sterling is cheap and wont pay unless he knows the player is good, but these guys are all overrated prima donnas. Shaun, as good as he was, is a project and is a year away from any impact. Baron and Camby man WILL haunt their former teams though, as will Ricky (even though Miami is in the east). Hopefully the guys play defense this year...the only regret i have is the loss of Q Ross(I know he has a weak offensive game), who mad sure the Clips didn't get torched the last few years.

how long we gotta hold on to the lottery-protected pick from the Cassell trade from Minnesota? Until the Timberpups make the playoffs?
