Is This For Real? Clippers Get Jaylen Brown for #5 Pick

Clippers Forum » Clippers News & General Discussions

Why would the Bucks want Garland? He doesn't have the upside a rebuilding team would want.

So Boston is getting Antetokounmpo? Why help Boston get better?

Brown is a good fit on the Clippers, but the Clippers still have a long way to go so they're not close enough where I'd be ok at a trade that makes Boston better.

Yeah, there have to be more names involved than just those

I don't think Garland would be involved, just the #5 pick plus spare parts

Very interesting for sure. Getting Jaylen Brown for #5 and parts would be huge, but gonna need a lot of "parts" to match up the salary. Bogie for sure, but his salary isn't enough to match. Hate to lose DJJ.

Taking a step back, no to Jaylen Brown.

I've been tired of having an old team. Don't want to keep perpetuating that.

It's hard to believe that he's been in the league for 10 years now so yeah, he qualifies for old now

Hard pass on Brown, let’s build through the draft. We have a solid pick this year and some decent young talent with Yan, Miller and Sanders.

Repped (+1)

I guess Boston is desperate to get Giannis so why not milk them and instead of trading the 5th pick outright, let’s swap the picks - either this year or get their pick in a future year. Because the 5th pick is step down from the first 4 cream of the crop.

I am not in favor of getting an older player but to rebuild is a long and painful process - at least for a guy who has been a diehard clipper fan since 1991!

But even this one doesn’t move the needle much so it is interesting to see what the FO does. Even sitting pat with the pick should be ok considering the young talent we have.

If the Clippers could magically get 3 players with his age, with no salary cap consequences, then yeah I'd I'd be ok with it.

Like let's say Domantas Sabonis, Lauri Markkanen, Jaylen Brown, and Luka Doncic all could magically be Clippers, while keeping Kawhi Leonard.

Then that's at least enough offensive talent to be an interesting team. While Jaylen Brown would be the only good current defender.

But getting enough players in the same age and talent range as Brown is tough. So instead, just focus on young players that can be part of a future good starting lineup.

Saw a Bleacher Report trade idea of Chet + Isaiah Joe for Kawhi. That would be really interesting. Chet is being dismissed as the weak link, even though a critical piece to the most dominant team for 2 years. I hope there's some truth to this trade idea.

Interesting. I'd actually be for that as this team needs to get younger, not older

It would be an AWFUL decision on several levels.

Yes. To match salary alone would gut our team, and it would also require us giving up that #5. Essentially we would end up with a barren cupboard.
