The CP3-less Clippers off to a nice start. A couple of steals, quick attack. Harden bingo, timeout Hawks- Clippers up 9-2.
Impressive bounce pass by Harden to the cutting Dunn for the reverse- like a QB throwing the pass to where the receiver was going to be.
Don't want to allow a layup like that- just foul the guy on the drive. That time Zu should've just grabbed Risacher.
How's that marginal contact- Zu gets hit in the face. They overturned a call vs the Hawks where the replay showed that the player going for the steal contacted Zu's face.
Good drive by Collins and now the jab step, then J.
Way to hustle- Kobe Brown diving to the ground to save the ball, now rips down the rebound in traffic and gets fouled.
The Beard launches one over Kennard- bingo!
Two tough plays there. First Sanders misses the fastbreak layup, and now Christie dribbles the ball off his foot, also on the break. Kennard gets it and drills the 3 to end the Q 🙄
What a move by Zu gliding into the paint then the deft reverse
Collins that would've been a top play candidate had he made the slam, but gets the bucket off of is own rebound. Good block too!
Sanders- over the head hook pass... not a good idea. Good finish there though on the great look by Zu.
Kawhi with the nifty one-legged midrange
How about that pass by Sanders to Zu inside who gets another slam! Clips up 53-41. Now another steal, Harden the runner!
Clips up 55-41 at the half. Let's see if the guys can break the 3rd Q doldrum this time.
KL the bingo, Harden the tough J, and the Clippers are now up 19. Rebounding and defense have been quite good- let's see if the guys can keep the pedal to the metal.
Guys are making good passes- another easy bucket inside from a dish into the paint
Sanders there the nifty step through for the layup!
Big bingo by Kobe Sanders, pushes the lead back to 18. Superb cross court pass by Harden.
The Beard drills a tough bingo after falling hard on his left hip seconds ago
Sanders going for the monster jam after another short hopper pass by Harden through the lane
Clippers with an impress 3rd Q, perhaps their best of the season. Lol airball by Harden but Collin finds it and lays it in to beat the buzzer! Clips up 21 going into the 4th.
Sanders continues to make good plays, Drive and dish to Batum for the bingo, now drills his own 3!
Harden the post-up J, and that should do it. Clips up 21 with 3 minutes left.
Really nice win- not sure if sending CP3 home had anything to do with it. But guys played with focus and energy- very few turnovers, great job on the boards lead by big Zu. Barely allowed any fastbreak buckets. Didn't shoot lights out but guys played TEAM basketball on both ends.
Tough games coming up and let's see if the guys can keep up the quality play.
Kobe Sanders with sweet double-clutch layup- icing on the cake. That's a career high 17 points for him.
Video highlights:
I had to get Prime Video then fan duel. This was a well coached game by a team who wanted to play. I liked the group rebounding. Everybody boxed out. Kobe Sanders is the real deal I think maybe a franchise player but Ballmer will trade him for LeBron. We are better off without Bogdonavich. Sanders really shows how our old guys are a step slow. Too bad CP is such an as* he would have been perfect with this kid. Let's hope Christe pans out. I would hope Lopez can get back in the paint where he belongs. What is with him?
How come no Jordan Miller? He is the best of our young guys. Is he in Ty Lue doghouse for some reason?
The fresh face on this team"who plays at a totally different pace"is Kobe Sanders; he alone made watching the game fun. If Kobe Brown improves his 3-point shooting, he could be a huge contributor, but Cam Christie still looks a bit too raw to me to really impact the game. This is exactly what the team is missing to be competitive: about three more young, athletic guys mixed in with these vets, and we could really put up a fight in the conference. Of course, that’s if Ty Lue actually dares to give them minutes.
I miss Luke
It's not that Ty avoids young playersit's that we haven't had any. SGA played a lot T Mann played a lot. What other young player? Brandon Boston? We are at the end of the draft so we've gotten none. If Kobe Brown had anything, he'd be a rotation player. Same true with Miller,
