Armenia Under Attack
Clippers Forum » Everything ElseSorry to bring in some sad/bad news prior to a promising season. But I thought it would be helpful to notify people since the news doesn't seem to want to cover it.
A lot of oil money is being used to bribe media outlets and politicians. However, it was reported today that House Speaker Pelosi and CA Rep Jackie Speier will travel to Armenia - so news may be forced to start covering it a little.
There are many parallels between Ukraine/Russia, Armenia+Artsakh/Azerbaijan+Turkey, and (maybe soon to be) Taiwan/China.
I know it is not basketball talk, but as Clipper fans I am hoping we can be armed with knowledge. Happy to discuss, answer questions, give opinions, read opinions, share facts and news articles... expand the topic.
I have not been able to focus on basketball (or even baseball or football) as I have been consumed with this news/developments.
Just in case this interests anyone: Nancy Pelosi as well as a handful of members of congress visited Armenia to condemn Azerbaijani attacks on Armenia.
LAC_12- thanks for the informative posts on the situation & background. The world's got enough problems and wars already to say the least. Thankfully there is a cease-fire for now, and glad to hear members of congress condemning the violence. Hopefully, with peaceful negotiations, one day Nagorno-Karabak can become either its own country to become part of Armenia.
David, the problems seem never-ending for sure. Just wanted to publicize this issue since the news and media outlets are being unbelievably quiet about it.
As I mentioned, it would be great if the NewsSurge/TopBuzz family can take 2 minutes to click and send messages to their reps in Congress.

Unfortunately the cease fire means very little to Turkey and Azerbaijan. Especially now that Russia has completely shifted to back Azerbaijan. Armenians in the region are alone and vulnerable to more attacks at any moment.
The links provided will attempt to halt aid the US is sending to Azerbaijan. I'll repeat, the US is spending your tax dollars to aid an authoritarian governments efforts in killing Armenians in Armenia and Artsakh. This is no longer an issue in the autonomous region, but the attack has pushed into Armenia proper.
Please use the links above to contact Congress, and please talk about these issues on social media. Appreciate the support!
LAC_12- thanks for posting those resources. We definitely shouldn't be supporting a country like Azerbaijan if they continue to be the aggressors.
