Overall, I kind of like how things unfolded. While I would've liked to have seen some
of my favorites go earlier in the draft, they did go in the 2nd round and to good
situations. I like that the Clippers were able to get Luke Kennard. He'll be a
pleasant surprise IF he can stay healthy as well as the 2nd rounders.
As for the rest of the league in conjunction with my mock, I was really surprised that
the Knicks passed on Deni Avidja when he was sitting there at 8. I know it sounds
confusing being that the guy I pegged at #1 was still sitting there at 8 and the Knicks
swooped him up but I'm looking at fit. NY has a ton of PF's on the roster but Knox has
been a bust so far. Deni would've been a great fit.
Cleveland actually took the guy I mocked for them although I thought they would
never do it. Okoro is a great fit and gives that team some grit and hustle that they
lack.
Phoenix must have been licking their chops at the thought of getting Deni at #10.
With Oubre on the way out, replacing him with the best SF in the draft all the way at 10
would've been awesome. While the Jalen Smith pick may have raised some eyebrows, I
get it from a fit standpoint. Baynes and Saric are free agents. He can play both big
spots so he's insurance if one or both leaves and provides depth if they stay.
Not sure about 12 & 13. New Orleans has Ball and they just traded for Bledsoe and
George Hill. Already 3 deep at PG, they took Kira Lewis. I would've been all over
Aaron Nesmith at that point. Perfect compliment to Ball and Ingram
on....
