This is technically not news, but you just don't expect players to outright say it. Glen
Davis hinted at some of this, but he was also just really salty because of his whole
injury management with the Clippers. Doc being a GM was always a problem. Due to Doc
being the coach and GM, he made promises when signing players that he couldn't cash
as the coach, we saw this with multiple players.
Barnes was liked as a teammate by the other guys, but Doc traded him because of conflict they
had. Then there was Dudley who sucked but was playing injured and Doc traded him and
seemingly didn't acknowledge him playing unhealthy for the team.
Players notice this stuff, so of course it factors in to some perceptions. The good thing as I
keep saying is that it isn't Doc's role anymore, so things are
different.
Also Austin's irrational confidence, that is also not news, we all remember him saying
he was better than the players in the Olympics, and this was back when he was not even
as good as he is now. I would assume that Austin's behavior would rub some people the
wrong way, but I didn't know how much it did, but maybe more players around the league
are irritated by him than I imagined. He certainly isn't helped by the fact that his
dad is coach. Still, Barnes just says it "probably" rubs people the
wrong way, people could just be Ariza, though I don't think so. The only fact here is
that, yes, Austin trash talks a lot and in general talks a lot and has an excessively
overrated view of himself.
