Sindarius Thornwell & Jawun Evans Get 3 Yr Contract?

Quote:
Thornwell is back in the state for a short period before returning to his first real job, which will be suiting up for the Los Angeles Clippers. Thornwell confirmed he has a three-year contract waiting on him in L.A. and he’ll sign it once he gets back.

The Gamecocks’ all-time greatest player clinched his roster spot with a terrific performance during the NBA summer league, something nobody around Columbia had any doubt he’d do. Thornwell’s possessed mentality in leading USC to its finest season didn’t ebb a millimeter during his professional tryouts.

Sindarius Thornwell apparently has confirmed that he will be signing a 3 year contract with the Clippers. He has looked good so this could be a nice bargain for the team. He might even battle Lou Williams for back-up shooting guard minutes. In fact, since Lou is probably 1 and done with the Clips, Thornwell may even get the nod over him on the depth chart- it remains to be seen.

Edit:

Apparently, Jawun Evans has also signed a 3 year contract- 2 years guaranteed plus 1 team option:

Lets not get too far ahead of ourselves here. He's still a second round pick rookie. I think we should work him in slowly but maybe after the All-star Break he'll be ready to give us 10-15 minutes a game.

This guy is so bad ass. Super happy it's official. I can't wait to see what he really has to offer.

3 year contracts for second round picks are a good way to get cheap production for longer if they pan out, and if they don't, the hit is not much

Today the Clippers officially signed Thornwell to a 3 years deal for 3.8mil Very Happy

Good move by the team!

Expect the way we do things to change a little. Recent interviews with Steve Ballmer point to an admission of dealing away draft picks, and Ballmer seems to have recognized that this was an error. My guess is that we will start to keep these guys rather than dealing them away like we did to get rid of Stephenson and Dudley

You're right. The vets will eat him alive. Maybe some significant minutes after All Star - yes. But somebody will have to force Doc to play rookies. This was a West decision. Doc would have traded him for Richard Jefferson and a wheelchair.

That's a fair amount of time for him to play. That's enough to start him, and should he merit more then we should increase the minutes, but my concern is whether Doc will do it. I wonder if Jerry West will complain if Doc doesn't develop the youth.
