Some unhappy camper(s) in the Clippers inner-circle seems to be calling out Doc Rivers'
dedication for both a coach and chief exec of the team. What do you guys make of this? I
have a feeling that Doc may have this upcoming season to prove his worth or else the
hammer may fall.
Like forever. He's paid millions to do an excellent job. If they wanted a f*ck up I'd do it
for $5 mill. Ballmer will not tolerate lack f work ethic. Doc has not gone further
than VDN.. Why not fire Doc and re hire VDN at a lower price/

I would rather have a new blood in our HC job than bringing back VDN, There's a lot of
good Assistant coach in the NBA and H coaches in colleges.

He does have the tendency to cancel many practice during the season

With some heat under him now I wonder if he will dare start Austin? Also will he finally
give the youngsters some playing time?
I read the article on Bleachers and I think its spot on, just in hearing Clippers
teammates say that Doc doesn't believe in frequent practices especially with
newer additions, they must watch film footage. If anyone heard Cp3 Houston
presser, he said allot without pointing to Doc in saying he wanted to be with an
organization that's about winning. There were so many subliminal messages from
that presser that I'm certain there's problem in the locker room. I didn't think it
wise to give Cp3 the maximum although he's a future hall of famer but as so many
pointed out he only took the Clippers to 2nd round once in that not forgotten Houston
series. Another thing that puzzled me was in his choice to Houston as opposed to
staying put in thinking Houston could win the championship before the Clippers. It
all points to problems with Clippers F/O and Doc's coaching or lack
thereof.

Of course he will start Austin, He is the BO and HC, and that's the reason he needs to go
instead of Austin, because he is the one who has the control of this team. He should
bring with him Mike Woodson and Frank Lawrence.

One thing you can say about the GMs in Houston and OKC is that they are not shy about moving
pieces one way or another. A different GM with the Clippers may have broken up the DJ
and BG brotherhood in order to improve the team's chances of
winning.

He is on his last straw for sure. One more strike and he's out. He will be given this year
to prove that he's about it. Won't be surprised if he gets fired mid-season if
something specific happens.

I agree...Doc has 2 strikes and no balls... ( no pun intended..)
With the roster he inherited and then Jerry West had to come in and save the
day...
Doc is one foot out the door.
If we are not off to a great start, like 6th place in the west or better.. Sam should take
over..or another assistant coach.

I really wish he would just resign and take the pressure off of Ballmer to fire him. I
feel like Ballmer is extremely loyal and grateful to Doc for helping him transition
into ownership, but there has been constant drama with Doc in his role that's been
seemingly impossible to keep under wraps. Whether it's news of drama between Doc
and Clippers business execs, players or opposing GM's not wanting to deal with Doc,
or his stale voice in the media when addressing any situation. There's always been
something with Doc and that accumulative negative energy is holding the entire
organization back.
There's simply no way this level of discontent could be expressed by so many different
people and not be legitimate to some extent. GM's, coaches, refs, players and
reporters are all tired of him. We need a new face and a new voice.

All great points Keaton. I'm just surprised that it hasn't been addressed. There are
just too many reports of Doc negatively involved in something

I think Ballmer will part ways with doc either before the season or mid season. I can
see a situation like Cleveland where they fired Blatt mid season and promoted
Lue.
Hopefully we fire doc and I'd like to give cassell a chance.

don't get my hopes up. I hope you're right, and Cassell will be a great
suggestion

I wish you are the guy who always sit with Balmer at Staples in every game, and you
whisper him what we are discussing here in newssurge.

First, how do we know Ballmer is loyal to Doc? He just hasn't fired him yet. Steve may have
just been giving Doc a chance. Why should Steve be loyal? Doc hasn't earned it. Doc's
name is not Doc Ballmer. That would be nepotism it it were.
How do know he's grateful? There is no evidence to support that. As far as the
difficulties, a winner finds a way to succeed, a loser makes excuses. Steve didn't
become a billionaire by making excuses. He did it by turning BS cow pies into
chocolate brownies.Why is West here?
Why should Doc quit? He's making a mint if he's good or bad. When the money talks the BS
walks.

Remember, it's DARWIN'S RULES.
We don't know that Ballmer is loyal to Doc which is why i said "i feel
like...". It's my own personal opinion/observation. I also said "I
wish Doc would resign" because I know there's no good reason for him to walk
away from his salary and title. If Ballmer fires him, he keeps the salary and goes on
vacation - if he resigns he walks away from the money.
I think we sometimes assume that Ballmer's $30billion net worth is evidence that he
always makes good business decisions and always wins. If you remember the
"Zune" then you know he's had his fair share of failures and isn't immune
to making mistakes. Promoting Doc to president of Basketball operations may have
seemed like a good move at the time, but Doc's tenure has been so tumultuous and
unsuccessful, that the only logical reason for him to still have his job is Steve
Ballmer is loyal/grateful to him. At least that's all i can come up
with.
If Doc were to walk away, it would be purely a matter of honor/respect, which doesn't go
too far when it's Darwin's rules.

The way Doc and Steve Ballmer were snuggled up close to each other during a summer league
game tells me Doc isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

LMFAO, you just painted a very creepy visual for me, but yeah Doc seems to have his
tentacles all wrapped around Ballmer. Despite everything, Doc has been
charismatic enough to keep his job for a long time despite the on-court
results
Old school here, the past 6 seasons have been the best ever for this fan. Dissapoinment
during the playoffs, yes. But compared to the previous 20 plus years (4 playoff
runs) of being a fan, they have been wonderful. Still have my season tickets for next
season and cannot wait. Not going to buy into the new click bait meme of
"Doc" being lazy, he has accomplished a lot in life to have that trait.
And when the changes come I will accept and move on, until then...Go
Clippers!
