Why Patrick Beverley is a Lockdown Defender

Good stuff. I'm studying film on new players this morning. He's the Tony Allen of PG. Just won hustle player of year at new NBA awards. I'm stoked for him to be our PG. Now let's add Zbo off bench or another tough guy. I'd love if our next era of basketball is a scrappy, defensive minded one like the Grizzlies of recent years. Easier to enjoy and root for a team that always plays hard, win or lose.

PB is definitely as gritty as they come. Harrell is also a high energy physical guy. Dekker also isn't afraid to get physical and play tough. If Thornwell earns a spot on the team that's a ton of toughness

I know many of you will go after me but I'm also open to Rondo for basically a couple mill a year as our starter. The issue with guys like Beverley who go all out 24/7 is they can't sustain that over say 35 mpg as a starter. So if we start Rondo purely for playmaking and feeding lobs to our bigs, then bring in Pat as his backup, I'd feel even better about our depth. He is a chemistry risk, maybe West+Doc can reel him in?

Rondo already tweet that he is interested to join the Clippers but I don't know if the front office like the idea. I just don't know how to put the tweet here in the board.

Rondo could come cheap and is still a very good playmaker which we'll need to help keep DJ involved offensively. Also Beverly is injury prone so having Rondo serves as insurance. Evans could still get time to develop behind these 2. Led the league in assists just a year ago.

My issue with Rondo is that I thought everyone wanted to see Blake being the primary playmaker? You get Rondo and you get a guy who holds the ball even more than Paul, but is a far inferior shooter and scorer he's actually a bad fit next to Blake because he clogs the pick and roll since teams just sag off him.

Rondo would be a great back up, when Beverly and Blake are on the bench.. He can take all the time off the clock and give our starters some rest time. Plus he knows Docs playbook and he can cuss and scream at him. That in itself would be worth it. Somebody to stand up to Doc. He would also be a good mentor for young Evans.

I actually like rondo but with the way this team is constructed he could ever touch the floor with Blake and Dj, because teams would just clog the paint.

Backup to Beverly is what I want him for. On the court with the 2nd unit.

Rondo, similar to CP3 is a traditional PG, if we're looking to run Beverly would be better suited to BG and DJ, plus Rondo will kill us offensively.

Normally I don't scream but RONDO IS A HEAD CASE! Why has he had DNPs for behavior. I don't think he got along with Doc. Why isn't he with Dallas, Sac or Chi? Why was he sent to the D league? Avoid him like an unflushed toilet. Onr thing that makes a team successful is character.

Well to be frank the only coach he has been able to find success with is Doc so maybe it could work out.
