That was very interesting. And it does highlight that in this regard Doc and CP are not a great combo.
Ronnie Nunn is certainly came across as a master of diplomacy.
If you are gonna call a tech for an overt clap, how about call a tech when Draymond Green demonstratively disagrees with a call and walk up to the ref aggressively to argue. He did both last night with no tech at all...
Chris Paul and the Clippers bring it onto themselves. He needs to stop complaining to refs and just play basketball. That the only way the Clippers can get the respect of the league back. They have a reputation for being whiny, and wearing out the Refs ears after every call. Chris has been doing this for 10+ years, as well as flopping. CP3 has only made a refs job harder in his time in the league, and I'm sure the refs association or whatever is plain sick of it.
Really? Because if you watch games this season the Clippers haven't argued with many calls. Even the unfair calls. Interestingly enough I recently watched a warriors game (Yesterday) and watched as a few warrior players berated the refs after calls with no Techs.
Also I watched Lebron scream at a ref and chase him down the sideline with no tech.
Bad Calls are bad calls. Like little rivers gets fouled so hard he broke his hand, and there was no foul call, but he gets Tech for screaming And-1, something all players scream when they feel they are fouled.
"Bringing on themselves" is an interesting way to view the world. So it's okay to cheat players and FANS as long as that team has done things they didn't like.
As far as making "refs job harder", please explain to me how you have come up with this theory. How are their jobs "Harder". Last I checked everyone flops, including flailing arms Harden. CP3 hasn't flopped anymore or any less than the average star in this league.
Please back up your theory's with "Facts" if possible. I am interested to hear how you came to such "intelligent" conclusions.
They should break down the tech calls on Blake Griffin. They should also break down the no-calls on Blake Griffin. That would have been a better read. Westbrook can badger a ref for 12 seconds while he brings the ball upcourt and get into kissing range and rip the ref a new one; nothing happens. Everyone yells and1; heck one year Kendrick Perkins yelled and1 motherblank; no mas. Lebron gets called for technicals? When? He can't get thrown out of the game; do you know how many TVs would be switched off if he did? And if they get the call wrong, a statement can be issued; that usually smooths things over, right?
I like the initial video... Does CP3 get treated unfairly? No. The guy flops and whines 24/7, so it is only fair for the refs to be able to use a shorter stick when it comes to dealing with him. As a whole, the Clippers embody that as well.
The argument is, doesn't the rest of the NBA whine argue and flop like the Clippers do? The answer is, for the most part, NO. You may have seen a game where Draymond or LeBron or (insert NBA player name) are a bit more agitated. But the refs may understand that, and give them more lee way.
Understand that I write that last part with GREAT discomfort as I do believe Draymond and LeBron are borderline.
But I have to follow with the RESPECT factor. Notice how both LeBron and Draymond are NBA Champions. Does that factor into the "judgement" call, I believe so. Is that fair? Sure as heck is.
Bottom line is this... CP flops at times to protect himself or to get a call... when it works its GREAT. When it doesn't it looks bad. But he is our leader and this team goes as he goes. BG on the other hand does not need to flop as much as he is on almost every instance the most solid piece of human specimen on the court. Most of BG's flops look bad. I think we have done a better job THIS SEASON of complaining less. Still have got long ways to go... and sometimes these whines are warranted.
However, this all comes from the Holtecamp vs Paul incident and I believe Holtecamp was a bit too gracious with her whistle. That is a game altering call, and as a ref, you are not supposed to determine the outcome of the game. Was it a T-able offense? Yes. On CP3, at the tail end of the 4th quarter with a tight score? HELL NO. Maybe in the first 3 quarters that T would have been more digest-able. But the media, and I am sure the ref's association would knock her for that call.
Draymond and LeBron complain more than other players and don't get techs. Is this because they've won championships? It's easy to judge players emotions when they're on the court or determine why they act or react the way they do. CP and the Clippers IMO are given more unfair, unreasonable techs by the Refs. I can't imagine what they're going through while Blake is absent. I'm sure this has caused a lot of stress and pressure on the players and tempers are shorter.
Suggestion is mandatory stress reduction techniques prior to games that can reduce anger, anxiety and probably improve their playing. Doc the coach should implement it in pregame preparations. Doing something out of the norm might be the key to continue winning.

I said this before and I will say it again. Just as there are techniques in seducing a partner, there are techniques in "seducing" refs:
Only complain when it is egregious. Pick your battles. Be strategic.
Do all complaining with the half-smile of say Louis C.K. Do not look menacing or mean.
When the ref makes a correct call, hold your hand up and take the foul while respecting the ref.
And, of course, win some sort of title: MVP, scoring title, NBA Champ, etc.
Finally, forget about the foul and play ball. Don't keep grousing while the opponent scores on your sorry complaining a**!
The techs HAVE gone up since blake and chris... Argument is they are being unfairly targeted. Either they are not getting the proper foul calls, and/or the refs are calling techs quicker than they are for other players.
Both of those would explain the high techs.... There is HARD evidence to prove Blake and Chris have received unfair tech calls, and missed foul calls (which have cost up games), by the league coming out and saying the refs screwed up. This is on record as fact.
Please show me on record as FACT Chris/Blake complain at a higher rate than other players. (Of course you can't because it's bullshit) ... Was Iverson Unfairly targeted? You'd be the same guy saying "No, blah blah blah"... But there is a whole special where REFS are admitting to unfairly targeting Iverson. So we know on RECORD they have a history of screwing and targeting certain Players.
That is on RECORD. So again, maybe my "Fandom"(whatever that is) is blinding
me, or maybe your inability to comprehend a sound argument has us going in circles?
?Or maybe you just want to argue for arguing sake?
Please give me a count on how times the league has issued statements about the refs screwing up calls against Blake and Paul. Then give me a count on the league average. If it's more then others in the league get it may support your theory.
Plus you haven't given any real facts on why they are supposedly targeted IF it's not because of their attitudes towards the refs. Show me on record as FACT that Chris/Blake don't complain at a higher rate then other players. Got any of that "stuff" or WHY they're treated unfairly on record cause I'd love to see it. All you got is opinion and subjectively, which may or not be actually true. In your mindset that's all that's needed I guess.
I'm not positive what the real reasons are either and refs are biased/prejudiced in some form because they're human, but the numbers of techs have gone way up since the 2010/11 season and I do know it takes two to tango...fact.

Just curious, got any proof that Green and LeBron complain more then any other players. Love to see it.
Haven't counted how many techs Lebron and Draymond have gotten vs the Clippers, but if you doubt it. Check it out. This is my opinion.

I think this article proves that we're the most hated team in the league, as if we didn't know that already. Another attempt to depict us as a classless organization.

This was posted despite a denial of the claim by the same news outlet?
They really hate us.
Not sure about LeBron but I watch the Warriors regularly and Green is the biggest complainer on that team...In the league. Against the Thunder, he complained on at least 4 plays. On two of them, he ran the other direction which should be considered a tech. You really can't give any proof since techs are subjective and arbitrary for the most part.
In a way he does, but it's a tribute to him. It's because the refs know how smart and crafty he is. So it's in the back of their mind and they don't like how he gets fouls on purpose. Funny thing is. The thing that makes him so good I feel has also been a downfall for him in a way
