I don't get how this is a bad move. We didn't lose Crawford and didn't have give up picks. We'll probably end up with prince Perkins or Mcgee without giving up anything. It's a win win.
Edit: never mind prince just got traded to Detroit
I don't understand the hate for Perkins. He basically shut DJ down single handedly in the playoffs and is a good rebounder and defender.
Last time I checked, defense and rebounding were much needed things.
Doc Rivers ladies and gents.
So we r going for a Shaqtin'A Fool special then.
I agree that Jamal disappears at playoffs, but I believe next season is a team option, so we won't lose him. We just didn't have enough assets to land chandler or Afflalo.
sucks it feels like each west playoff contender got better or was already elite like the warriors.
Rockets get elite young defender KJ for just Canann and a 2nd round pick. I'm sure the Bullock+1st rounder team gave up for his son Rivers would of gotten KJ easily.
Fails to trade Jamal Crawford who's shot 35 percent the last 3 months of season and ALWAYS vanishes come playoff time. Not to mention that Crawford is turning 35 this year and will likely opt out anyway after this year as we lose him for nothing anyway.
Depends on buyout market every year due to him already detonating team assets for the next 5 years or so and always strikes out. None of his buyouts signed last two years are still on team besides his favorite guy Big Baby. This year was waiting on ex Celtics KG and Prince who have now landed on their original teams in trades, with no buyout Coming. Now Kendrick freaking Perkins is at the top of his list LMAO.
First of all there wasn't a first rounder involved in the Austin rivers deal. Second of all Jamal's deal is a team option so it's not up to him if he leaves. Third of all Perkins is a solid defender. How is acquiring him for nothing a bad move, IF it even happens? You were like 100% off on this rant man.
I like the idea of bringing on a psycho like Perkins, there needs to be someone on the team that pushes our guys around and reminds them that they haven't accomplished squat yet. Anyone we pick up at this point is going to have a minimal impact, they're just buyout guys, there's a reason they're being bought out.
At least he's a defensive player.
Last time I checked, defense and rebounding were much needed things.
That wasn't being shut down it was the depth of their bigs and me and Westbrook drawing fouls. The were a more complete team with more bodies and their stars drawing fouls.
Perkins would be a great pickup. He can play that enforcer role that's been needed for a while now. Not sure who everyone wants but I'm sure LeBron and Durant are not going to get bought out anytime soon.
Also, Perkins is regarded as one of the greatest locker room guys in the league.
How can anyone view his addition as a negative?
Dudley and a 1st were used to open the gates for Hawes and the Farmar signing. Farmar was dropped and replaced with Rivers still a connection there and depending on how you feel about Reggie he was thrown away to make room for rivers
How do we fix our small forward problems? I don't think there are any small forward on the market. Not even buyouts. Are we about to sign Beasley? Lol
Jared couple mistakes, doesn't change premise that Doc struck out. I mistook Crawfords option, which still doesn't change my point regardless. The main point was Crawford should of been traded, team/player option was merely icing. Pick for Austin was actually a 2nd rounder, which again doesn't change the premise when you consider that KJ was acquired with a 2nd rounder from a team with a better record than us.
So try again if you think the whole lawyer deal of proving a minor fallacy, throws an entire POV out the window deal. As for Perkins himself, I actually defended him as a fit on Twitter. I feel he will bring toughness the soft team clearly lacks. He's not going to significantly help the team though and they will likely get stomped in round 1 of the playoffs regardless.

A couple days ago you were saying "we". Now you're saying "they". lossen up Little fella. It ain't the end of the world.
Clipper Fans: "Doc is terrible at making trades"
Same Fans: "I can't believe Doc didn't make a trade. What a bum"
Warned for baiting Luigi. It's disrespectful to post off topic, condescending remarks like "Loosen up little fella". People are starting to really get out of hand with this stuff. Hopefully you learn from this that although we may all disagree, condescending or rude remarks are never allowed.
Hawes and Perkins off the bench? That would possibly be the slowest big tandem in the league lol
His stats are not very impressive, but he is a defensive presence. But not sure that he is any sort of an upgrade over Epke Udoh, who for some reason Doc refuses to play. Perkins does have a ton of playoff experience, however.
I want to comment but don't know where to go with this. Making a purchase because everyone else did but you got the bottom, last one in the barrel? that's what it feels like.
Haha baiting? Really? Wasn't trying to "attack" you just trying to get you to lighten up. Whatever though
Luigi if you truly want someone to loosen up do you think a condescending comment like "little guy" is necessary?
We need a big for deffence. He maybe all we can get at this point. Man what is detroit going todi with prince? Weird trade.
With the Suns probably dropping out of playoffs each team got better up to this point.
Warriors- just playing amazing ball
Grizzlies-Jeff green
Blazers-AA
Rockets-KJ, Smith, and potential when Howard returns
Mavericks-rondo and snare
Spurs-they are the Spurs
Thunder- Kanter and waiters
This will be interesting fight in the playoffs.
Shawne Williams might get bought out by the pelicans. I wouldn't mind signing him. Capable defender who can guard multiple positions
Last time I checked, defense and rebounding were much needed things.
If he can resurrect his career like in the good old Boston days, yes. But the last 3.5 years he's become a below average shooter (FG/2FG%), below average rebounder and commits an above average amount of fouls and not the defensive presences he once was. Good luck on which one we are going to get.
We do have a good start if we wanted to begin playing a little football as offensive
linemen with him and Davis though.
Doc won't play younger, maybe better defensive Udoh, yet he will probably sign Perkins and play him 30 mpg. I'm starting to see huge bias with him and how he plays Big Baby and Austin when better players sit on the bench.

YOu forgot to mention how we got better.....*cough cough*
The mind blower to me is we are only one game from last years record and we were on top of the heap, but those damn Warriors refuse to lose

OKC got Novak too!
Mark Jackson said Udoh is a pretty good defensive player and wondered why Doc wasn't playing him.
Might just be a biased opinion on Jacksons part but Udoh had a good reputation as a defensive player but yeah doc is definitely biased. Seems like he is too emotional and attached to his old players
Actually OKC also got very nice backup PG DJ Augustin.
Mavs:Amare and Rondo.
Thunder: Kanter, Waiters, Augustin, Singler, Novak.
Rockets: KJ McDaniels (best perimeter defender in league this year maybe) as well as Prignoni.
Blazers: Aaron Afflalo.
Spurs, Warriors stood pat. Spurs are proven come playoff time and Warriors are loaded with an amazing roster with no gaping holes really. Clippers are only "contender" that has gaping holes and did nothing in west.
Never been that impressed with Perkins but does play a solid defense, which is something we desperately need. Doesn't have very much offense though.
Lol to all the people hating on Perkins. Are u guys trippin? Go back and look at the box score from last years playoffs. Perkins had average/decent PER and was getting good rebounds for the minutes he played. The dude is only 30. I would love to get Perkins. He will meet dudes at the rim unlike Hawes and get physical against Zbo's and Aldridges. Hawes can't rebound or play defense. His 3 point shooting is mediocre too. If we get Perkins idk why we didn't get rid of Hawes. I'm seriously baffled.

I think if Blake wasn't injured we would have probably made a trade. We can't afford to lose playoff positioning on a gamble trade.
Spot on Jered. I feel there is a lot of overreacting regarding Doc's moves this season. Austin is actually playing a lot better than farmar!!!! And we got him for bullock who barely played and produced! We have all of our money tied up with BG and CP and DJ ain't cheap either. People want us to make all these moves with barely any flexibility. It's a head scratcher. Some things I can agree upon, I think we could of gotten a crap load of good deals for a Crawford + Hawes deal.
im hearing thomas robinson wants a buyout from the nuggets i wouldn't mind picking him up
Air griffin all the picks Doc traded were the assets. Traded 1st and Dudley for example. Imagine team now with Dudley still AND say KJ McDaniels for that late 1st rounder??
We just don't have any wiggle room to try and make a significant improvement, hard to do anything when you're hands are tied and right now we're basically hog tied.
People saying we lack assets are forgetting who traded those very assets away to begin with! Doc has taken a team with low assets and made it entirely devoid.
Are you forgetting who Perkins was playing against in the playoffs?
