Darren Collison to Opt Out of Contract?

Clippers Forum » Clipper Rumors
http://bleacherreport.com/tb/ddaZ7 This all was obviously going to happen. We have to look at the areas to shape up this offseason. Back Up PG, Small Forward and Back Up Bigs. Point Guards can easily be fixed. Mo Williams Shelvin Mack Devin....

Don't believe everything you read, especially in this case

Good luck DC. I thin we'll be better off if we can find a big guard like Vasquez

In all honesty guys. DC may or may not return. He is probably going to New York. I think if we shed him off the books it gives a little more breathing room. Maybe we....

Whatever - I don't care. Wasn't really a point guard anyway

Doc said it best. Darren is a great scorer and player , but when it comes to decision making. He Can't Make Them! Maybe Mo can do that for us who knows! The offseason is about to kick in high gear

Just because he opted out doesn't mean he's leaving, it just means he wants more money.

If its true than good luck to him. I appreciate his efforts and taking a paycut for a shot at a ring. Did well as a backup guard imo.

Meh. I'd rather have Livingston back anyway.

We can't afford more money unless Doc will work his magic and we shed some major dough by shipping out Barnes and Duleys and Bring in Pierce and Ariza or something like that Hollins is....

He may Opt Out to take less money! Who knows!

I think DC will ask for around $4mil a year and I think we should give it to him. Unless Patty Mills is willing to come here for cheaper we won't find a better back up PG available.

Thanks for the memories...I am sure we can get a back up pg. I just want Dudley to go home.

im with jacra on this one. vasquez would be a good fit

Hopefully a little less, but yeah. He is one of the best bench PG's in the league, and CP3 isn't exactly famous for his durability.

Clippers don't have any extra $$$. If Collison wants to get paid. It won't be with the LAC. Bye DC.

I don't mind this all much. There's plenty of backup point guards who can play for 10-15 minutes a game. As people have been saying, Vasquez is a great fit.

Not really a surprise. He wanted the chance at a championship, didn't happen, and he knows he can make at least double of what he just made. He did a good job here, but we can't afford him at a bigger contract, but he certainly should take the opportunity to get as much as he can in the market.

I would target Shaun Livingston if his price tag also doesn't sky up. Like others have seemed to allude to, since Doc likes to play the backup with CP, a big guard is a good options so Vasquez is also an option, though him and CP didn't get along while Vasquez was in New Orleans, lol.

Of course Vasquez just made only $2M and averaged 9/2/4 in 23 mins, so it's hard to imagine he doesn't command a raise too. At our low price tag for a PG, we might not get lucky again with a Collison, might have to settle for a backup that isn't actually a borderline starter.

Mo has never been a very good decision maker isn't usually content with smaller roles and is an inferior defender to DC. He wouldn't solve the decision making issue. You don't remember his silly turnovers while he was here? He's still committing those.

I would rather we sign and trade. I don't mind Collison leaving, but to get nothing in exchange is bad. Collisons value is high. He may not be in the top 10 point guard list but contenders would be very enticed by him. We could get some real nice pieces for him, and I hope Doc can pull off a sign and trade.

I would vote for Shaun if DC really goes, ,but I don't think we get a vote.

It's amazing how tall the dude is for that position 6'7"

And then poof he's gone

I like DC, but would be unwilling to pay more for him. I was actually against giving him what he got, even though he was worth it. I feel like there are bigger needs on this team. I would be more willing to pay for a Livingston over DC just because the length and defense.

Talk about a Point Guard guarding Durants Smile

Bound to happen the backup spot is still important because Paul is due to miss half a month of games at least. He talkies a bout money when he signed.

Livingston is a much better passer and ball handler as well. Seems like his offense is better too

That height could come in handy against Durant.

My dream

Paul

Reddick

Ariza/Melo

Griffin

DJ

Livingston

Crawford

Barnes

Davis/Hill/Evans(Reggie)

Okafor maybe? Just 31

How will Livingston's knee hold up? How is his lateral movement? Does he have enough to guard someone like Durant. SAS/OKC Pop is a genius!
