OJ Mayo Possibly to Clippers Rumor (P. 3)

Clippers Forum » Clipper Rumors

Trade Bled and Butler, get rid of contract and just sign mayo. That's how I hope they approach it.

trading Butler would make a ton of space for us to make moves, assuming we didn't take on a huge contract like Derozan's. Just give us somebody who can rebound.

Chris Broussard tweets this morning...

Source: Doc Rivers and OJ Mayo are meeting for lunch today. Clips & Mavs currently talking about a Mayo-for-Bledsoe swap

Clippers have also talked w/Bucks about Bledsoe-for-Refick but source says chances of that trade happening are "remote."

Sources say Doc Rivers strongly inclined to keep Bledsoe. Look for Clips to offer Caron Butler or JCrawford instead if necessary to get Mayo

I like it. I get the sense that we're gonna end up with Mayo & Bled.

I would love to keep Bledsoe and have Mayo, but I would like to have Mayo and Granger even more. It will be hard to pull off because of Caron going to Dallas.

Caron is going to Dallas?

That's the rumor as of now, Caron for Mayo S&T. Keep in mind the key word "rumor"

Not sure why Dallas would take Caron for O.J but lets make it happen. Mayo could be our answer at sg for a long time.

Butler for mayo would be a steal! Man i don't know if I want to trade Crawford. Love him for this team. But butler and throw in 1st round picks sounds great.

Only thing I can think of is maintaining flexibility going forward with his deal expiring.

Marc Stein was just on ESPN, and said the Mayo S&T for Bledsoe is more of a contingency plan for Dallas should they not get Dwight.

Good, then the odds will be good we can make this S&T happen.

I think Houston is the heavy favored Texas team to acquire Howard, if he doesn't return to the Lakers.

Mayo seems to think he's better than what he is because of his draft status.

Maybe we can get Marion as well. Perhaps Butler + Bledsoe for Marion + Mayo.

Marion's owed 9.3 mil plus a 15% trade kicker and Mayo's contract will most likely be 8 mil+ per year. Don't think so.

Don't you talk about my Mayo like that!!!! I relish the fact that you've mustard the strength to ketchup to me.

I wouldn't trade Bledsoe for Mayo straight up. Draft pick or picks should be added. There are 2 positions in the NBA that a good player can be traded to get a better player and that's if you are a PG or C. You cannot under estimate the skill it takes to play those positions. Bledsoe's value is much better than OJ Mayo's value who every few months still says he wants to try out point guard.

I agree but bledsoe doesn't really fit our team needs as much as OJ does.

oj needs the ball in his hands to be "effective". the team needs someone that can be effective w/o the ball and hit a 3.

doesnt fit.

Would hate to see Crawford go but Mayo is a better overall player and much younger. Butler is a good trade asset to have.

40% from 3 isn't good enough? If we can get a player who can also handle the ball, it will take so much more pressure off of CP.

Does fit.

Sounds like a guy named Arron Afflalo.

Have to agree with ya caps, i don't think it gets any better than this... and if its just bledsoe wed still have caron to trade off for something later

Not sure how it can be just Bled, someone has to be added to make the $ work.

Caron for Majo. Very Happy

*Edit...Stand corrected, yes it can be just EB as Dallas is so far under the cap.

jj redick fits MUCH better than OJ

He did, but think he'll be in a Minny uniform fairly soon.

Caron + Bled for Mayo + Crowder or Larkin(I wish)

Now that sir is a trade we can agree on. Love Crowder.

I'm mixed on mayo, when you look at his stats like 3pt % and steals he looks like an ideal player for us. Then you look at his wins shared and usage rate and I shy away. I'll be happy with whichever one we sign with doc's approval. I do like that Mayo is younger than the others too, some people don't really grow up until their mid twenties he might just be at the perfect fit. Redick is the best shooter in my opinion (visual test), afflalo is the best fit, oj has the most potential.

After he's grilled by Doc I hope he'll be a weiner.

I didn't even know. This deal just got better for us if true.

Yes, what I wrote already yesterday becomes true in any shape or form. We are keeping Bled and Caron is alone (or will be combined with some other asset then Bled) in that deal.

I still think it should be only Caron because if we include e.g. J-Craw or some other there must be a much better return.

Budinger re-signed with Minnesota, could take them out of the market for J.J.

Budinger's a sf.

I read something saying it might be one or the other for them.

This thread along with a ton of others can wither away now and make room for a ton of new threads about how excited everyone is ahaha
